Betsy DeVos had the unmitigated gall to actually show up and give the commencement speech at HBCU Bethune-Cookman University today.  Needless to say, it didn't end well for the new Secretary of Education.  Catch the tea inside....

After weeks of threats and criticism from students and the rest of the world, Bethune-Cookman went through with having Betsy DeVos -- who is part of the same Administration who threatened to defund HBCU's and treated HBCU Presidents like props during a "White House Meeting" --  as their commencement speaker.

As she spoke, the graduates and audience were NOT having it.  Loud boo's and insults filled the Florida university's graduation venue, and it was all caught on video.

Here's an up close look at the loud boo's once DeVos started her speech. When she said she would visit the grave site of the iconic founder Mary McCleod Bethune, things got worse:

Issa Rae is dishing on why she decided to create “Insecure” making us stand for her even harder. Meanwhile, the Get Out cast is celebrating the film’s digital release. Get it all inside…

Issa Rae brought the REALEST, most relatable TV series for black girls everywhere. That’s not up for debate either. Even if you aren’t a black girl, you can relate because “Insecure” tackles tons of different “isms” with a comedic flare.

Sitting down for an open discussion at Deadline’s The Contenders Emmy event, our favorite awkward girl explained why she decided to create the dramedy that we all can’t get enough of.

“For such a long time, I just wasn’t seeing great black female friendships on television," she explained."It was constantly about tearing one another down and just leaving it that way or throwing shade.”

She continued,“The relationship between Issa and Molly is the core relationship of the show and that will not change. We wanted to focus on one that was healthy. Of course they have their issues, as a lot of friendships do.”

We live for this. Watching Issa and Molly every week definitely reminds us of good times and bad times we’ve encountered with our besties.

The Golden Globe nominated actress also talked about how important it was for her to shed a positive light on parts of L.A. that had been shown in a negative light in the past.

“I wanted to highlight specific parts of L.A. that I hadn’t seen demonstrated in the most positive light in the last couple of years and wanted to make South L.A. sexy."

And that she did.

It’s a Get Out celebration!

The Get Out cast and creator/director/producer Jordan Peele linked up to celebrate the blockbuster film, which has grossed over $200 million world wide, making its digital debut. The horror flick is now available on iTunes.

If you don’t have an iTunes subscripton, no worries. The movie will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 23rd. Woot!

By the way, the Oscar buzz has already started...and rightfully so.

If you haven't heard, Jordan is already working on the follow up to Get Out after inking a major deal with Universal Picutres. The upcoming untitled social thriller will be written, directed and produced by the comedian.

Meanwhile...

Jaden Smith is hard at work on his first feature film since starring in the sci-fi thriller After Earth (2013) alongside his dad, Will Smith.

The YBF actor, who recently cut off his dreadlocks and brought them with him at the MET Gala, is currently in Toronto shooting scenes for the upcoming romantic drama, Life In A Year. If you didn’t know, he ditched the dreads for his role in the film and his dad cut them off, posting a video on Facebook Live.

The film follows a 17-year-old boy (played by Jaden) who, after learning his girlfriend is dying, sets out to give her their entire life together, in the year she has left.

Jaden will be starring opposite Cara Delevingne, along with Nia Long, Cuba Gooding Jr. and RZA rounding out the cast.

Life In A Year is scheduled to hit theaters in 2018.

Another YBF celeb on the move...

After the OKC Thunder was booted out the NBA playoffs in Round 1, point guard Russell Westbrook hit the scene in Beverly Hills to do his 2nd favorite thing: shop. We all know Russ is a fashion head, so it was no surprise seeing him make his rounds on the retail scene with designer Tracey Mills.

The NBA baller is about to become a first-time dad as his wife Nina Westbrook is pregnant with their first child. It was announced that the couple will be Nina welcoming a bouncing baby boy sometime in May.

Aaron Hernandez’s fiancée Shayanna Jenkins Hernandez breaks her silence in her first public interview since the NFL player allegedly took his life in prison. More inside…

Less than a month after former NFL player Aaron Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell, his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins Hernandez is speaking out for the first time.

In an interview with “Dr. Phil” (set to air next week), Shayanna opens up about the mysterious death of the former New England Patriots football star while serving a life sentence following a murder conviction of Odin Lloyd. She’ll be setting the record straight about her fiancé’s jail cell death, rumors about his purported secret romantic life, and if she thinks he killed himself so that she could collect millions of dollars.

“I thought it was a hoax, that this was some cruel person playing a trick on me,” she said when she found out about his death.

You’ll recall, there were rumors that Aaron had an inmate lover and that one of the three suicide notes he left was addressed to an inmate.

Shayanna, the mother of his 4-year-old daughter, said she was the last person to speak to Aaron before his death and things seemed to be on the up and up.

“I felt like we were looking so bright. We were going up a ladder to a positive direction. Our last talk had nothing to do with suicidal thoughts.”

Dr. Phil will ask Shayanna if she thinks Aaron took his life so she could get millions or if she feels like someone made his death look like a suicide. We already know she doesn’t think he killed himself.  She is suing the Department of Corrections to be sure they preserve every piece of evidence that was found at the scene.

By the way, Aaron's murder conviction was vacated since he died during the appeal process.

Bow Wow is explaining private jet fakegate.  And a few other things.  His Troll-erific words inside....

Shad Moss is saying all this faking for the gram  he's been doing has a bigger purpose.  He went on Hot 97 to talk about the drama, sayi once again it was "all for the show" and we'll have to see how it plays out when "Growing Up Hip Hp: ATL" premieres May 25th.  Mmmhmmm.

While he didn't say it was HIS private jet or HIS bag of money when he posted to Instagram about his travel days and riches, he knew his fans would be led to think they were.  Now, he's laughing off the epic dragging he caught during the #BowWowChallenge and is acting like he meant to create the drama.

Bow Wow then went on to talk about that race drama he got embroiled in when he said his ancestors aren't black. He said he never said he wasn't black, he's just saying he wasn't alive during the civil rights era so he didn't witness his ancestors riding on buses in Selma. So he "only knows what his eyes can see"....and he only knows for a fact his grandmother "doesn't have a lick of black in her, because she's straight up Indian."

Oh.

He said he doesn't think he's "mixed" per se, but he is black with "weird" features. And by weird features, he said, "Well I have blonde hair and some other things."

Oh.

He also talked about being cool with all his exes like Tyra Banks, Ciara (who he says still talks to his mom), and Erica Mena. He explains the beef between Erica and his baby's mother Joie, beef with Soulja Boy, plus his beef with Funk Flex that he now wants to settle with a skate battle. Ha!

“WAGS Atlanta” will document the luxurious lifestyles and real-life drama in the exclusive world of superstar athletes through the perspective of the women who stand by their side.

E! sent out a press release to announce the new show, but they have yet to reveal who will be starring in it. However, the Internets have come up with an alleged list of cast mates.

"WAGS Atlanta" is expected to debut this fall.

In animated television news...

“Atlanta” creator and star Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) is taking his talents to the animated world with a major project.

According to Variety, the Golden Globe winner and his brother, “Atlanta” staff writer Stephen Glover, will be working on an animated series of Marvel’s “Deadpool.” The GLover brothers will serve as showrunners, executive producers and writers of the series, which will include10-episodes for season 1. The untitled series is being backed by Marvel Television, FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios for FXX.

FUN FACT: Donald is starring in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming, starring opposite Zendaya. It’ll hit theaters on July 5th.

By the way, “Atlanta” season 2 premiere has been delayed to 2018 due to Donald’s production schedule. He's also gearing up to star as young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars film.

Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas was involved in a heated exchange with a fan that was caught on video by another fan and it just cost him thousands of dollars.

So here’s what happened…

During the Celtics’ 121-102 loss to the Washington Wizards in Game 4 of an Eastern Conference semifinals series on May 7 at Verizon Center, a fan was busy provoking Isaiah behind the Celtics’ bench. Isaiah had enough of the disrespectful fan’s ish talking and responded. It sounds like he said, “I will f*ck you up and you know that!”

Well, now Isaiah has to cough up $25,000 as he was fined today by the NBA for “directing inappropriate language toward a fan.”  The fan was clearly trash talking him first. We wonder if he would have been fined had the video not gone viral.

If you haven't heard, Isaiah recently lost his sister, Chyna Thomas, in a car accident during the playoffs. The day after her death, he decided to play but was super emotional throughout the game.

T.I. took his Hustle Gang tour to Philly last night. After the show, the Hustle Gang honcho hit up ACES strip club in NYC where he linked up with rapper Meek Mill.

As usual, cameras were rolling and caught a clip of the “Us or Else” rapper "angrily" tossing money at a stripper. We don’t know if he was mad for real, but he sure looked like it. But that’s not the tea.

Apparently, the stripper he was throwing money at just so happens to be Fetty Wap’s ex-girlfriend, Slevin Monroe aka "Blu."

The Seahawks QB proved once again he's a man of God who was raised right.  And we have his parents to thank. 

Russell wrote a letter to his mother, Tammy Wilson, and read it on camera for Sports Center.  What he didn't know, though, was that she was hidden away in a room, watching and listening.  Her pop-up surprise was everything.

His letter was filled with reasons why his mother was "the perfect female figure" in his life, why he thanks Jesus every day for her, how she affected his choice in a wife, and he also referenced the love between her and his father, Harrison Wilson III, who passed away in 2010.

The woman who Tahiry Jose fought on her birthday (and got arrested) is speaking out. And she is spilling all type of tea about the former “Love & Hip Hop” star.

The woman hopped on Instagram to air out some of Tahiry’s dirty laundry, claiming Tahiry has been hooking up with ASAP Rocky on the low. Apparently, ASAP left Tahiry behind to attend the MET Gala with Kendall Jenner (who he is rumored to be dating). She accused Tahiry of creating a fantasy life on social media, but every night she’s crying on her shoulder over not being able to pay her rent or her car note. Yikes.

Oh, and her rant gets juicier....

She also blasted Tahiry for stalking her ex-boyfriend and his new girl’s social media pages. While she didn’t drop any names, it’s clear she’s talking about Joe Budden and his new girlfriend Cyn Santana.

After getting dragged on social media for saying “All Lives Matter,” TLC’s Chilli is responding to the controversy.

So, let’s catch you up on what went down.

Chilli and T-Boz sat down for an interview with Chanel 4 UK while on a press run to promote their upcoming self-titled album. The ladies were asked what were their thoughts on the “Black Lives Matter” movement and whether they attended any marches. Here’s how Chilli responded.

“I personally didn’t go to any marches or anything like that. But, for me, All Lives Matter. You know what I mean? Because there is a time when different groups are targeted for different things, you what I’m saying? So I just think that just the whole what happened - police brutality – against these young black boys, all of that kid of stuff is wrong. Even if it was a Caucasian teen kid that this was happening to or whatever.”

Needless to say, folks got all up in her a**. She even turned off the comments on her Instagram page.

The 46-year-old singer has since offered up a response to try and clarify her statements. She told The Shade Room:

“Of course Black Lives Matter and the killing of young black boys is heartbreaking to all of us. Everyone knows I am a black mother of a black son so there is no way I could watch what’s happening and not be affected. That video was from an interview in London asking me about issues happening in the U.S. My response was inclusive of everyone, but not meant to undervalue the Black Lives Matter movement to suggest police brutality against blacks is acceptable.”

Also in the interview, T-Boz offered up some interesting comments about Donald Trump as well. When asked what she thought about being a black woman during the Trump Era, she responded, “I don’t care about Donald Trump, so I mean, God is my president. I just feel sorry for the people it affects, but I don’t care about him.”

We’re pulling up on the premiere of season 4 and the new trailer is only making us even more anxious.  Today, the first official trailer for the new season dropped and it’s beyond intense.

It’s full of scenes with everyone trying to seek revenge, Ghost fighting his way out of prison, Tasha holding down the family and Ghost’s high school sweetheart Angela Valdez trying to distance herself as much as possible from him.

“That first night in jail, no idea what’s going to happen to you,” Kanaan narrates as his friend-turned-enemy Ghost is locked up. “You’re away from everything that comforts you, everything that makes you feel at home. That’s real fear.”

Fast & Furious stat Sung Kang joins the cast as Ghost’s newest adversary, Assistant U.S. Attorney John Mak and Ghost will have his hands full with him. Larenz Tate will also guest-star this season.

“American Idol” album Jennifer Hudson will be bringing her expertise to the another singing competition show. The Grammy Award winner will join season 13 of “The Voice” -- just as she wraps up as a judge on the UK version -- and it's set to premiere this fall. Nice!

Tyga and Kylie Jenner have called it quits again. So while the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star spends time with Travis Scott, Tyga has found himself a new chick to occupy his free time.

He was spotted on a date with Brazlian singer Anitta this week. After rolling up in the “Rock City” rapper’s yellow Ferrari, they made their way inside Nobu in West Hollywood.

It’s unclear if this was a romantic date or if they were just grabbing dinner after working on new music together. Anitta posted a picture of them in the studio:

We'll be keeping an eye out on these two. It seems Tyga has the same routine after breaking up with Kylie. They break up, both are seen out with other people, then they get back together.

Jada Pinkett Smith served up springtime fab in a floral Gucci bomber jacket while making rounds on the retail scene in Beverly Hills. The Girls Trip actress paired the bomber jacket with a white tank, pinstripe pants and red Adidas Gazelles, a Hermes Bearn wallet and aviator sunglasses.

Jada will return to the big screen with Queen Latifah and Regina Hall in the upcoming comedy Girls Trip, set to hit theaters July 21st.

"The Real” co-host Adrienne Bailon and her hubby Israel Houghton stepped out in L.A. for some family fun. The lovebirds were spotted making their way inside Beauty and Essex for dinner with family.

Fan girl moment!

Last night, the Christian Dior Cruise 2018 Runway Show went down at the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in Santa Monica. And several of our fave YBFers were in the mix.

Fashionistas Rihanna and Kelly Rowland were both on the fashion scene to peep the designer’s newest threads. But before getting to all of that, the queens linked up for a photo-op we would DIE to be in the middle of. We stan out for both of these ladies.

Wait, can they make a musical collaboration happen? We would be so here for it.

The “Work” singer, who made history as the first black woman to front a Dior campaign, showed up to the runway show rocking Dior threads, of course.

Serving up cowgirl vibes, Rih posed it up in pieces from the Dior Cruise 2018 collection. You'll notice she rocked a fur coat with no shirt underneath. So RiRi.

After the show...

After putting on a black tank underneath her fur coat, Rih ate at her favorite Italian eatery, Giorgio Baldi. No surprise.

Back at the fashion event...

Fab chick Kelly Rowland snapped it up for a few solo flicks in Dior, or course. She topped off her delicate white dress with an edgy black leather jacket before taking it off to show off her dress.

Before hitting the stage, Solange stopped for a few flicks to show off her Dior look.

The Souled Out singer rocked a dress from the brand's SS17 RTW collection.

Magic Johnson's wife Cookie Johnson and her son EJ Johnson served up mother-son swag at the show.

After the models did their thing, Solo did what she does best. And that's bring those magical vibes that we all love.

Your favorite comedy will be returning for another season!

ABC just gave the greenlight for a fourth season of “black•ish” for another round of laughs from the Johnson family. For the upcoming season, the show’s creator/executive producer/showrunner Kenya Barris will be teaming up with Stacy Traub (executive producer of the recently canceled “The Real O’Neals”) to executive produce.

As you know, Kenya has his plate full after extending his overall deal with ABC Studios. One of the projects he has coming down the pipeline will be a “black•ish” spin-off, starring Yara Shahidi. The show will follow Yara’s character, Zoey, heading off to college.

The untitled series is eyeing an order at Freeform, which is owned by Disney-ABC Television Group. We're here for the "A Different World" 2.0 series.

Speaking of ABC shows…

After three seasons, the anthology crime drama “American Crime,” which stars Regina King, has been canceled. Apparently, season three viewer ratings weren’t that great, so they decided to pull the plug. Bummer.

The show had a good run though. Regina King won TWO Primetime EMMY Awards for her work on the series.

“Secrets and Lies,” which stars hottie Michael Ealy, and “Dr. Ken,” which stars Tisha Campbell Martin, were also canceled by ABC after two seasons each. Low viewer ratings caused the shows to get shut down.

Tre' Da Kid is Hip Hop’s newest emcee after nabbing the #FreeStyle50 rap battle crown. TheYBF.com chopped it up with the newcomer and he dished on why both Jay Z and Nas are the best rappers alive. Plus, he also talked about how he wants to bring that old school Hip Hop feeling back through his music. Get it all inside…

Tre Da Kid is ready to take the Hip Hop world by storm.

The Annapolis native was crowned as the rap battle king after competing in Verizon’s #FreeStyle50 challenge, beating out thousands of competitors. He won a recording contract with Kevin Liles’ 300 Entertainment label, a $10,000 grand prize and the opportunity to tour with R&B crooner Trey Songz.

Now, he’s ready to make his mark in the Hip Hop world.

TheYBF.com’s NYC correspondent James Turner sat down with Tre Da Kid to chat about his musical inspirations and who he feels is the best rapper alive. While Jadakiss is his favorite rapper, he said Jay Z and Nas both hold the crown as the best rappers alive, but for different reasons.

“I’m a rapper’s rapper, he told TheYBF.com. I think Nas is the best rapper ever. I think Jay Z is the best rap artist ever. If I was on the street corner and I wanted to hear somebody kick something, I would ask Nas. But, if I wanted a complete body of work, I’m going with Hov all day. Everything behind his name is gold or platinum.”

Makes sense.

Tre’ touched on the quality of today’s rap music and he said he doesn’t think it's all bad, it just doesn’t have any feeling behind it. He wants to be the guy who brings feelings and emotions through his music.

“I want to bring the essence back to Hip Hop," he explained. "I want to be that dude responsible for bringing that feeling back. The music today is not bad to me, it just doesn’t have any feeling to it. I can’t always turn up. Sometimes we get sad, sometimes we want love. I just think that’s what’s missing in Hip Hop.”

He makes some very good points about wanting to bring different emotions to his music. We go through different emotions on a daily, and most times you want to listen to music that reflects how you’re currently feeling.

Sounds like Tre’ Da Kid is going to be bringing some musical heat soon and we’re excited about it. Take a listen to his first single “Run It,” featuring TK Kravitz below:

Toni Braxton and Birdman are still all wrapped up in love…or whatever they like to call it. More inside…

Toni Braxton and Birdman haven’t officially confirmed their situationship, but it’s not hard to tell that the two are more than feeling each other.

Since Spring 2016, the twosome has been spotted together at several red carpet events (including the 2016 BET Awards), the R&B songbird brought the Cash Money honcho out on stage during one of her shows, Toni threw him a huge birthday party in New Orleans a few months ago, and Birdman even gifted Toni with a Bentley SUV just because. So yeah, it’s clear that they’re definitely more than just friends.

And the romance (or whatever they’re calling it) is still in the air.

This week, Toni and Birdman held hands as they exited Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. We assume they both were trying to keep a low profile as they both were wearing sunglasses at night, but photogs still caught up with the couple.

Hoda Kotb gives us our first look at her baby girl Haley Joy as she makes her television debut. Meanwhile, North West is totally over the paparazzi and she made sure they knew it! Get it all inside…

“TODAY” show anchor Hoda Kotb shocked morning show viewers after she announced she had secretly adopted a baby girl. Back in February, the 52-year-old first-time mom made the announcement by calling in to the morning show to reveal she was now the mother of a baby girl.

Now, we’re getting our first look at the precious bundle of joy.

In celebration of Mother’s Day (on Sunday), baby Haley Joy, who was born on Valentine’s Day, made her television debut this morning, joining her mom and the show’s co-anchors to say her first hello to the world. And she is the absolute cutest.

Baby Haley soaked up all the extra attention, smiling in her little pink dress.

North West is SICK of the paparazzi! How sick?

So sick, she’s screamed and yelled at them to STOP taking pictures of her.

Kanye West’s daughter and her mom Kim Kardashian West were spotted leaving the ice cream parlor in L.A. yesterday. The cameras were toting close behind as they were shooting scenes for an upcoming episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

Once they made it outside, the paparazzi swarmed them as they trekked it to their vehicle, but 3-year-old Nori had to get some things off of her chest.

Lordt!  The footage of that radio station brawl that went down between Peter Thomas and Matt Jordan leaked.  And Peter thinks it makes him look like the victor he claimed to be.  Catch up inside...

Back in March, the exes of "RHOA" stars Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore did an interview at Power 98 radio station, and it turned physical quickly.  Matt's BEEN pissed about Peter and Kandi Burruss' husband Todd Tucker allegedly giving him bad advice about appearing on the Bravo show.  Peter responded via social media, then they attempted to hash it out at the radio station.  Catch up on the backstory HERE.
