Erykah Badu and Keke Palmer, along with Mack Wilds and Curren$y, were tapped as guests to celebrate the 100th episode of Nick Cannon’s hilarious improv comedy series “Wild ‘N Out.”
The Grammy Award winner and the YBF actress were on their A-game as they led the black team to victory. Erykah’s bars were on point in the first game of “Jokin’ Word” where each player had to do a spoken word piece with a random subject.
The soulful songstress had to deliver a poem about Kanye West’s clothes. And she went there:
“Let me see what this/ Yeezy season talkin' bout real quick/Two racks for a sweater with holes in it/That is some bulls**t/Cause see I rose wit you Yeezy/But this **** is a high amount/Why don't you hook your cousin up with that five finger discount."
Ha!
Erykah and Keke then led the Black team in song for the “R&Beef” challenge. They performed a track they called “Revenge of Tyrone” and easily won that one.
The Freestyle battle round was next and let’s just say Erykah went IN on Nick’s golden, sparkly boots. She also went in on each guy on the gold team with her witty comebacks.

Minnesota Timberwolves baller Kevin Garnett announced his retirement from the NBA after 21 years, leaving a legacy as one of the best defensive players in the league’s history.
Garnett confirmed his retirement on social media on Friday, posting a short black-and-white film where he expresses how thankful he is for the continued support from fans, family and friends throughout his dynamic career. He said, "I'm just thankful. I can't even put that into words. I'm just thankful. I'm just thankful for everybody and the love. I never would have thought that people love me like this. But, for it to be reality is just something else, man. Man.''

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama opened up the White House doors to host a reception before the highly anticipated grand opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History at the National Mall yesterday. The museum will display the history of African-American heroes who fought for equal rights. It will cast light on the raw, un-cut and unfiltered artifacts of our American history.
Bring out the drumline! POTUS and FLOTUS welcomed the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands marching band for a special performance on the South Lawn as guests made their way inside the White House for the epic reception. Not sure when we'll be able to see this happen again:

Actor Bill Nunn, best known for his role as Radio Raheem in Spike Lee’s film Do The Right Thing, has died at the age of 62.
Famed filmmaker Spike Lee, who worked with Bill on films such as He Got Game, School Daze, and Mo Better Blues confirmed Mr. Nunn passed away yesterday in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. Bill Nunn also starred opposite Whoopi Goldberg in the classic film Sister Act. Most recently, he starred in USA's “Sirens” series as a Vietnam war veteran named Cash.

Rihanna headlined the annual Global Citizen Festival held in Manhatten’s Central Park yesterday.
The Pop princess was decked out in a Chrome Hearts kimono top and a pinstriped Adam Selman corset romper paired with dark green velvet Manolo Blahnik heels and orange Gentle Monster sunglasses for her headlining set.
And she didn't disappoint. Well, not to most people there.
The Grammy Award winner ran through a medley of her hits that included, “Stay” “Birthday Cake,” “Love On The Brain,” “Diamonds,” “FourFiveSeconds” and “Desperado” for the education benefit. Rih joined the Global Citizens organization to fight against extreme poverty and inequality around the world, and support approaches that will make life more sustainable for people and the planet.

Chi-town native Chance The Rapper hosted his Magnificent Coloring Day Festival at U.S. Cellular Field in the Southside of Chicago yesterday. The show was PACKED with about 44,000 fans that filled up the ballpark expecting to see their favorites artists hit the stage.
Chi-town native Kanye West made a surprise appearance during the festival opening up his set with “Ultralight Beam,” a cut from his PABLO album. He also performed “Black Skinhead,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Touch the Sky,” “Gold Digger,” “Father Stretch My Hand Pt.1” and “Pt. 2,” his verse on Schoolboy Q’s “THat Part.”
“I’m so proud of this young man right here, for putting all of this together,” Kanye said about the 23-year-old rapper.
Chance had quite the line-up of big names sliding through the Chi. Alicia Keys, John Legend, Common, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Tyler the Creator and more rocked the stage. And, of course, Chance also performed a few selections.

"The Hills" star, who has been our (and plenty of black women's) vanilla crush for years -- and we mean years -- fixed his mouth to co-sign an insensitive (and quite privileged) post on Instagram in relation to the latest police killing. It was like taking a cold shower after seeing his fine self just being fine and ish.
He reposted a friend who basically said if you "disobey" police, you deserve what you get (see above). Apparently he thinks ANY time one breaks the law, they deserve death. Whether the cops are sure a gun is present or not.
The sweeping generalization he reposted totally ignored the fact that most are not disobeying when they are shot dead. And some may not be able to follow directions due to disability, but may still be unarmed. It completely ignores any fault of cops. It also ignored the fact that the events surrounding the cops approaching said black men in the first place are suspect at best.
Yet and still, the privileged reality star turned....whatever he is now....is the son of staunch conservative Caitlyn Jenner. So we shouldn't be too surprised about his stance. Caitlyn still defends a party who is completely intolerant to her own LGBT community, and many either haven't spoken up to condemn cops who have clearly made incompetent decisions that turned fatal.
So it seems Brody is on the victim blaming train. And that's unfortunate. His privilege is definitely showing.
Maybe that explains why Kanye didn't invite him to the wedding....

One of Hollywood’s favorite IT couples shocked the world last week with the announcement that they were calling it quits. Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Soon after, reports came out that she filed for divorce because of Brad’s questionable parenting style.
Angelina allegedly claimed he is an unfit father due to his excessive drinking, smoking marijuana and uncontrollable temper, which she listed as reasons for filing for sole physical custody of the children.
There’s one incident in particular that has come to light about an alleged altercation between Brad and their 15-year-old son Maddox on a private jet. According to TMZ:
Based on all of our sources we believe the most credible sequence of events is that Maddox said something to Brad that pissed him off, Brad then lunged at his son, Angelina stepped in between them and at that point there was some physical contact between Brad and Maddox.
It appears Brad made contact with Maddox somewhere in the vicinity of the shoulder area. The biggest issue -- whether it was intentional or inadvertent. It's the job of prosecutors to prove it was intentional, and we're told that would be extremely difficult.
On top of that, we're told DCFS social workers saw no evidence of injuries on Maddox ... none.
Now, it’s being reported it's Brad who has issues with Angelina's parenting. From taking the kids with her on her trips to “war torn” counties as she worked her way to becoming the top United Nations official. While he didn’t mind her philanthropic efforts, he didn’t like when she would bring the kids along. He allegedly feared that something would happen to them and that is reportedly one of the biggest issues in their divorce.
Brad, we're told, was especially upset that Angelina had taken the kids to various war-torn countries, including Lebanon and Iraq. We're told Angelina would always make sure to bring a security team that was the best of the best on her trips ... but for Brad, it still wasn't enough.
We're told things got extremely tense when Brad and Angie argued over taking the kids to Syria to help rebuild the war torn country..
Our sources say Brad was always supportive of Jolie's solo charity work, but travels with the kids became a bone of contention for several years.

We’ve been watching the drama unfold between former NBA baller Gilbert Arenas and his ex-fiancée Laura Govan over the years. And now, Gilbert just got a one up on Laura.
You’ll recall, Gilbert filed a lawsuit (one of many) against Laura for libel after she allegedly blasted him for giving her a slew of STDs and allegedly leaked it to the media.
It’s being reported Gilbert claimed the email affected his ability to work on a new app he’s creating without distraction and totally humiliated him. He was gunning for a seven-figure settlement, but the judge felt there wasn’t enough evidence to award him that amount. Instead, he got $110,110 for his emotional distress.
By the way, Laura made it clear she "has very limited financial means at this time,” so no telling when Gilbert will see this money. Yikes.
Recently, Sacramento Kings baller Matt Barnes fired shots at his sons’ mother Gloria Govan in a new Instagram video.
The NBA baller went on a rant about women who keep their children away from their fathers, urging women to let men who want to be fathers in their kids’ lives. He said kids are not trophies, pawns or meal tickets and that they need love from both sides. Sounds like he may be feeling some type of way towards Gloria.

This week, Matt appeared on “The Vertical Podcast with J.J. Redick” to dish on his cameo on “Basketball Wives.” In so many words, he regrets ever appearing on the show and called it false notion of what his life is really like. He said,
"The biggest mistake I ever made was doing that stupid Basketball Wives show," he said, "because it’s just such a negative, untrue, fantasy of what our lives are like. Our lives are nothing like that, but people live and swear by that reality TV…None of it is true. Nothing you see on these reality TV—not even just Basketball Wives—it’s all staged. They say it’s unscripted. It’s not. Everything is scripted."
He also explained how he was approached to being on the show saying,
"I was with Shaq in Phoenix when Shaq brought it to me at practice like, 'Yo, [my wife] Shaunie wants to do a show. Will you let Gloria be on?'" he said. "I was like, 'Oh, hell no. What are you talking about?' Like we had just had the kids and everything."
Sounds like he won't be making anymore apperances on reality television anytime soon.

To say Giants baller Odell Beckham Jr. had a bad day yesterday is an understatement.
Unfortunately, the Giants wide receiver and his team lost to the Washington Redskins in a very close and intense conference game. The final score was 29-27. And Odell took it hard. REALLY hard.
On the sidelines, Odell cut up. His emotions were all over the place. He was crying (literally crying), kicking, and screaming. Dude got so mad he hit a kicking net with his helmet and knocked it over. But, the net got the last laugh.
Rivals Odell and cornerback Josh Norman faced off for the first time this season. And they put on another show. You’ll recall last year, Odell and Josh went AT it during a game when Josh played for the Carolina Panthers. If you don’t remember, get it all HERE.
Well, their match up yesterday was just as entertaining. While in the end zone, Josh literally picks Odell up like a ballerina and holds him in the air for a few seconds before dropping him to the ground and throwing his hands up like he didn’t do anything. Days after his former teammate Kevin Garnett announced his retirement, NBA baller Paul Pierce is announcing his final season. But first, he's going for the chip one more time.
After hitting the court for 18 seasons, Paul is hanging up his jersey after the 2016-17 season. He will retire as a Los Angeles Clipper under coach Doc Rivers, whom he played for when they both were with the Boston Celtics.
Just like any difficult decision, I think you’ve got to be at peace with yourself. I’m at peace with retiring, but I’ve got one more ride left. One more season. One more opportunity.
With the Clippers, in the city where I grew up, I feel like I have that opportunity on a great team. We’re hungry. We want to win a championship.
After 18 NBA years, it’s hard to believe I’ll be playing in each arena for the last time. So I’m going to enjoy every practice, every bus ride, every team dinner, every time running out through the tunnel. I’m going to do my part to give us a shot at the ultimate goal.

We know Drake for wearing his heart on his sleeve and his emo lyrics in his songs. But, Drizzy is tapping into his gangsta side for his highly anticipated Please Forgive Me short film, released exclusively via Apple Music.
The Young Money rapper teamed up with music video director Anthony Mandler (“Over,” “Find Your Love,” and “Miss Me”) for the new action thriller where Drizzy transforms into a gun-toting killer. The short film, takes tracks from the platinum-selling Views, was shot over the course of a week in Soweto, South Africa.
The clip follows Drizzy and his on-screen girlfriend as they come up with a million-dollar tryst as a part of a plan to take off with the money. Their scheme doesn’t go as planned and a gun battle erupts with Drizzy firing off automatic weapons as he taps into his killer side.
While it was an entertaining mini-movie, it was a bit weird watching Drake shoot and kill people. We’re so used to him being his super emotional self and all.

The Meek Mill vs. The Game drama continues!
Beanie Sigel came to Meek Mill’s aid when the Philly rapper released a diss track aimed at west coast rapper The Game. Now, Beanie is spilling some tea on how that track came about.
The Philly legend chatted with Philly’s 92Q about his participation in Meek’s “Ooouu” remix. And it appears Beanie was more hands on that we thought. While he said he doesn’t have any beef with The Game, he did hop in the studio with Meek to lay down the track. He said:
“[Meek] didn’t say nothin’ to get me on the track. I just happened to come in the studio, so I just was helping him out with some lyrics, and the situation kind of played out like it did. It’s really no beef, especially between me and Game. Me and Game got a good relationship. Had one for years. So it’s not me and Game’s beef. That’s The Game and Meek Mill beef. Basically, I’m just representing for my city. That’s it.”
So did he actually ghostwrite lyrics for Meek?
“I don’t want to put that out there like that or discredit nobody for their skills or nothing,” he responded. Hmph.

Gladys Knight and her son Shanga Hankerson are at war over her name being used for his Atlanta restaurant. He claims she lacks the mental capacity to cancel the licensing deal. What? Deets inside….

Singing legend Gladys Knight and her son Shanga Hankerson are at odds over the use of her name at his Atlanta restaurant. She wants him to remove her name, but he doesn’t want to. Why? Well, he claims she lacks the mental capacity to cancel the licensing deal. Sir!
We previously reported how Gladys wanted her name removed from his “Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles” restaurants after he was accused of STEALING from the family business. Feds raided the restaurants and everything. Damn homie.
Back in June, Shanga was arrested on two counts of felony theft by taking $52,600 in sales tax collected in March and April, according to a Georgia Department of Revenue investigator. The AJC reported Shanga was accused of taking a total of $650,000 in state sales and withholding taxes, which after penalties and interest totals more than $1 million.
He was later released on $20,000 bond from the Clayton County jail.
According to the legal documents, the soul singer has no role in the business. She allowed her son to use her name under a licensing deal, but now she wants out after since the Department of Revenue accused Shanga of theft and tax evasion after federal agents raided three of his restaurants and shut down operations.
The mother and son had a 10-year licensing deal that ran out in 2009. Since then, they agreed on an oral licensing arrangement, but now the 72-year-old songstress wants no parts of the business.
After her son’s arrest, Gladys fired off a lawsuit “demanding damages for Hankerson's continued use of her name on the restaurant chain, as well as 'certain proprietary recipes and memorabilia, including Knight’s dresses/costumes and photographs featuring Knight and other celebrities.”
Shanga is denying any wrongdoing and confirms his mother HAS been paid and he wants the lawsuit thrown out.
Talk about putting it bluntly. Miami Heat President Pat Riley chimed in today about Chris Bosh's future with the team, and he seems to have way less hope for his return than Chris does. Get his response inside...
It's been a tough weekend for Chris Bosh. The last man standing of the Heat's Big 3 is on his way out as well, let Pat Riley tell it.
After Chris failed his preseason physical, the Heat confirmed he would not be allowed into training camp. Of course, the rumors swirled about whether Chris, who has been battling injuries and resulting blood clots since last season, would be forced into retirement. Chris tweeted that he's going to keep pushing. But Pat Riley just made it known he won't be pushing anywhere with the Heat.
"We are not," Riley said in his office at AmericanAirlines Arena. "I think Chris is still open-minded. But we are not working toward his return. "We feel that, based on the last exam, that his Heat career is probably over."
Asked if he felt Bosh's NBA career was over, as well, Riley said, "that's up to him." "It's pretty definitive from us, in our standpoint, that this is probably going to be a time where we really have to step back," Riley said.
He does have a heart though. He said:
"I love C.B. dearly," he said. "It was tough to watch C.B. and his family go through this the last couple of years. Your heart just goes out to him." Riley compared the mood around the team to Magic Johnson's HIV announcement. "Dealing with Magic Johnson and what he went through . . . it's not easy to be with a player for six years and watch him play and watch him accomplish what he's accomplished," Riley said of Bosh. "I can't imagine what he's going through."
After sources say Chris has no trust in the team, Pat said:
"If there was a level of mistrust, I don't know what he's talking about," Riley said. "Contrary to how this thing has been perpetuated in the media, we have worked very, very hard with Chris. "I don't know where that came from. We were there the whole time when he was in the hospital in 2015."
Sounds like Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce won't be the only ones announcing their retirements....

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o continues to slay on the Queen of Katwe press tour as she promotes the inspiring new film. The Kenyan beauty looked flawless on her way inside ABC Studios for an appearance on “Good Morning America” this morning.

Lupita will star as the protective mother of a chess prodigy and revealed during her chat that after reading just a few pages of the script, she felt compelled to be apart of the project.
"On the pages. I found interesting, real complex, layered, inspiring characters," she said. "I could tell that in less than 10 pages. I just knew I had to be a part of this film."
The YBF actress talked about how rewarding it was to work with director Mira Nair, who lived in east Africa for over 20 years. She said,
"It was such a rewarding labor of love ... to get to tell this true, inspiring story in Uganda, in East Africa where I'm from, and to do it with [director] Mira Nair, a woman of color who has lived there for over 20 years, who knows the place and really told the story from inside out."
The TONY award nominee, who stared in the Broadway play “Eclipsed,” also dished on what it was like to work on Broadway.

HBO hosted a block party in Brooklyn City to celebrate its upcoming comedy series “Insecure,” starring Issa Rae, Jay Ellis, and Yvonne Orji (next to Issa) yesterday. The cast was all smiles snapping it up alongside “Insecure” executive producers Prentice Penny and Melina Matsoukas.
By the way the show is already up on HBO's On Demand, and we're OBSESSED! It's the perfect show of black girl friendships and a YBF chick's everyday life. Not fake ish, but the real ish you say with and to your girls. And to your man.
Our crush Jay plays Issa Rae's semi-live in boyfriend.
Director and artist Vashtie Kola was in the mix looking like a schoolgirl.
And the cast had lots of fun during the outside party session.
Singer BJ The Chicago Kid made an appearance and rocked the stage at the outside event.

Tinashe popped up at the 2016 Daytime Village at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The R&B songstress served up a lively performance for the concertgoers rocking the stage with her new track “Superlove.”

On last night's finale of "Wags," NFL baller Larry English jetted to Thailand to surprise his girlfriend of close to 6 years, model Nicole Williams, with a gorgeous ring. He's been on Tampa Bay's Injured Reserved list since last September, but something tells us Nicole isn't going ANYWHERE whether he steps on a field again or not. Many folks will say her love for him is borderline obsessive, and quite cringeworthy. But congrats girl.
She's been begging (and we're not exaggerating, she has zero shame about admitting to doing so) for him to propose for years. So it looks like she got her wish. But not without drama.
Nicole spent majority of her luxury girls' trip to Thailand calling every one of Larry's friends, family and every hotel in Vegas trying to track down this man after he didn't text or Facetime her....for 15 hours. Where was he? He was in the air on his way to surprise her.
She explained to E!:
"If your boyfriend, husband, whoever, your significant other goes missing for almost 24 hours, you're allowed to worry. People who don't know us, they try to tell me, 'You just need to trust him.' Well, first of all, I know my man. I've been with him for a really long time and I know that if he has a meeting in Vegas, that's odd. And if he doesn't call me back or answer the phone or FaceTime me in 15, 16, 17 hours, that's odd. So, you're either dead in a gutter or you're doing something."
Larry ended up threatening to leave to "teach her a lesson." Not sure why this was his response when this has been normal behavior for her for years.
On the show, she was in tears telling her friends (who knew Larry was on his way to propose):
"I cannot believe he would come all the way to Thailand and turn around and go back home. I feel like that’s such an asshole move to be spiteful like 'you ruined it, I’m going back home' instead of coming to talk to me."
She begged Larry to stay and said:
"How was I supposed to react? I tried to track him down in Vegas. I would have to really be a shitty girlfriend and not give a F about him to not care and not call anybody to find him."
He stayed (shocker) and told her he hoped this was an "eye opening" experience.
A rep for the jeweler revealed the gorgeous ring has an 18-carat rose gold setting with an oval 5.14-carat center stone surrounded by a diamond band with over 100 round stones for a total weight of almost 6 carats—and a price tag of over $250,000.

The “HTGAWM” cast joined lead actress Viola Davis for The Rape Foundation’s annual brunch held in Beverly Hills yesterday. Viola serves as an advocate for the foundation and delivered a powerful speech during the soirée where she was being honored.
The Suicide Squad star shared very intimate stories about how she, her sisters and friends were groped by men at such young ages. It’s sort of a hard read. Below are a few highlights:
"Listen, when I was young, there were so many men in the neighborhood who gave you money if they could touch you," she continued. "Going over to a friend's house for a birthday party at the age of seven, there was always someone there who touched you."
"My sister Danielle was 8 years old when she was on roller skates and went down to the corner store at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and was sexually assaulted in the aisles," said Davis. "She told my mom right away – my mom ran down to the store. The store owner's response was: 'He does that to all the little girls.' "
"My mom flagged down the police, and the perpetrator did pay," she continued. "He paid. He was fined $10 a month. It's over for him, but I'd like to redefine survivor."
"Memories demand attention, because memories have teeth," continued the actress. "That sexual assault perpetrator can move on. The only person who rapes is the rapist. The person who is left behind has to pay over, and over, and over again."
So true.
She left the audience with three wishes:
"Number one, if you have not visited the Rape Treatment Center or the Stuart House, you must. That's all I'll say, then I'll let your heart do the rest," she said. "Number two, it's like the famous Shakespeare quote: 'To whom should I complain?' If you have anyone in your life that you know, or if you don't know is a rape survivor then listen because truly whatever you say, if you feel ashamed in any way of your story – shame cannot exist if you tell it to people who have empathy."
"And number three, that in your mind today, listen," she said. "I'm with Emile Zola, I want to 'live out loud.' I do," she said.
Hottie Idris Elba popped up at the Superdry clothing store at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney, Australia. We're kind of feeling the shabby, laid back look.
The YBF actor took a break from filming Thor: Ragnarok for a quick retail run where he stopped to chop it up with adoring fans.

Recently, the girlfriend of Panthers QB Cam Newton, Kia Proctor, posted a couple pics of herself rocking a full on baby bump.
It's unclear if this was for Flashback Friday, seeing that Chosen is only about 10 months old, or if they're brand new. But a commenter on one pic saying they just saw her out makes us think they could very well be new.
If true, we're sure the good news is quite welcomed as the Panthers are off to a rough 1-2 start to the NFL season.
