While he was snubbed at this year’s Oscars awards, Hollywood actor Will Smith received the highest honor of the night during the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. The awards show was extra special this year as it marked it's 25th anniversary.

Hitting the stage at the Warner Bros. Studios, the Concussion star received the Generation Award to celebrate his illustrious career in the entertainment business.

"When MTV first gave me this Generation Award, I thought it was code for the 'old-ass dude award,'" Will jokingly said. “I released my first record when I was 17, and this June marks 30 years in this business for me."

Queen Latifah and Halle Berry were tapped to present the Golden Popcorn trophy to their longtime friend. Queen said, "He is the first rapper to break into movies and become an international superstar and the king of huge blockbuster movies, and we all have to thank him for opening up that door.”

After Queen’s introduction, Halle presented a highlight reel of Will’s most famous acting roles saying, “With every performance, you see his soul.”

Before Will accepted his award, The Lonely Island paid tribute to the international superstar with a medley of his biggest hits, including “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” Summertime” "Men In Black" and “Getting’ Jiggy Wit It.”

Another big win of the night....

The Straight Outta Compton cast was presented the Best True Story award by rapper Kendrick Lamar for their critically acclaimed biopic about legendary rap group N.W.A. after being snubbed by the Oscars.

N.W.A. member DJ Yella joined actors Corey Hawkins, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell, Neil Brown Jr., and Aldis Hodge to accept the award, where he gave a shoutout to his "Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame" buddies. If you missed, N.W.A. was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Jason Mitchell, who plays Eazy-E in the film, stepped up to the mic where he said,“I'd just like to take a moment to like thank the Academy.” O’Shea then whispers in his ear and Jason then said, "I mean MTV. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm sorry. My bad. My bad. My bad. My bad. My bad."

As for the hosts of the evening....

Central Intelligence stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart brought plenty of laughs as they hosted the show, starting with their Mad Max: Fury Road inspired opening.

The guys put together another funny skit dressed up as Superman and Batman. The guys called out all of the “Marvel b*tches” throwing shade at some of the Marvel actors in the audience, including Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt and Chris Evans.

Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson and actor Alexander Skarsgard concluded the night presenting the Movie of the Year award to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The 19-Year-old quadruple threat, who’s the newest CoverGirl ambassador, chopped it up with the women’s lifestyle magazine about her decision to return to the Disney channel, why NFL ballers don’t get a dating pass from her dad and learning to love yourself despite what others have to say.

On why she returned to Disney:"A big reason why I wanted to come back to Disney is because I saw a lack of diversity on the channel. To see a black family, to see a young girl with these adorable Afro puffs…little things like that are so important."

On going to the Grammys after-party with her dad and New York Giant, Odell Beckham Jr.:"If a guy can handle my dad the first time, then he's worth giving my time to. If he can't, then I might as well not waste my time. Just because they're in the NFL doesn't mean they get a pass."

On not worrying about what other people think: "I wore a freaking mullet to the Grammys. I felt like I was killing it. And I was. That's all that should matter when you step out."

By the way, former contestant Daya will be a guest judge on "Dancing With The Stars" Disney night tonight. Nice.

The gorgeous Gugu Mabtha-Raw, who stars in Concussion and also Beyond the Lights, dished to the mag about her dream roles, how she felt about Will and Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars and shying away from social media. Below are the highlights:

On other acting roles she would love to take on:"I've always had Cleopatra on my list. I'd also love to play Rosa Parks. There's definitely a story about her to be told."

On Will and Jada Pinkett Smith speaking out on the lack of diversity at the Oscars:"[They took] A very brave stand." But she points out, "That's the end of the race. The root of it is about having many, many stories told and having the people who hold he purse strings tell diverse and inclusive stories. It's got to go back to how films get green-lit in the first place."

On shying away from the spotlight and social media: "Call me old-fashioned, but if there were ever a massive volcanic eruption like there was in Pompeii and, hundreds of years later, people looked at us as a species with our selfie sticks, they would think, God were we the most narcissistic culture ever?"

She's got a point!

Sad news for the radio world, Chicagoans, and all that knew his voice.  Legendary radio host Doug Banks has died at the age of 57.  Details inside.

In surprising and sad news, radio jock Doug Banks passed away this morning, this according to his close friends.  His voice ruled the Chicago airwaves for years. 

Reportedly, the Philly-born and Detroit-raised host had been suffering for many years from diabetes complications.

We mourn the loss of syndicated on-air personality, Doug Banks. Banks a longtime radio veteran died early this morning, according to close sources. He has dealt with a long battle with diabetes and continued to advocate to his listeners on the importance of getting updated doctor check-ups. The Doug Banks show thrilled and entertained Chicago listeners from Monday thru Friday from 2pm-6pm on WVAZ-FM/iHeartradio for the past few years.

His long time co-host DeDe Mcguire of the nationally syndicated (and one of the top-rated syndicated urban programs in America) "Doug Banks Show" posted a heartfelt message saying:

 

Today I lost a brother, a friend, a mentor, my teacher, a life changer, a RADIO LEGEND...Doug Banks! He passed away today from complications of Diabetes. I worked, traveled, spent holidays with Doug for SEVENTEEN years! I owe much of my success to him! He was THE best, most humble, easy working person I have ever come in contact within Radio. As I mourn the loss of my friend and reminisce about our good times, I can only keep thinking of his two beautiful girls. Kennede and Kelly.. My prayers are with you, your Mom and your entire family.RIP Doug Banks, it was a PRIVILEGE to work with you! I love you!

Fresh from hosting the 2016 MTV Movie Awards Saturday night, host Kevin Hart wasted no time to jump right back into his fitness routine.

Kicking off his Sunday Funday, the upcoming Central Intelligence star hosted his “Move With Hart” training program at Grand Park in L.A. in collaboration with Nike. As you know, Kev and Nike have been traveling all across the country hosting fitness events in an effort to inspire his fans to become more physically fit.  He's also got his own sneaker in two different colorways, red and blue for his kids' favorite colors!

The fitness fanatic brought his kiddies Heaven and Hendrix along with his fiancé Eniko Parrish along for the training session. And they were right by his side as he put in some work.

In NBA news....

Golden State Warriors are riding high right now!

Steph Curry and the Warriors just made history after last night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center.

The 2015 NBA champs tied the NBA record for the most wins in a season with last night's 72nd win! They're holding court with the 95-96 Chicago Bulls for record wins in a season. The Warriors beat the Spurs with a final score of 92-86, making their regular season record 72-9. Get it!

Steph, who’s the 2015 MVP, put up a cool 37 points -- the most points he has scored on the road against the Spurs in the regular season. The Baby Face Assassin continues to prove why he’s the reigning MVP.

The Warriors also set a new NBA record with 34 road wins and they also ended the Spurs 48-game regular season home winning streak. Who's going to check them?!

“American Idol” runner up La’Porsha Renae is responding to all of the negative backlash she has received over some anti-gay comments she made. Find out what she said, plus, get the scoop on Nick Gordon returning to the “Dr. Phil Show” to talk about Bobbi Kristina’s death inside….

“American Idol” runner up La’Porsha Renae is speaking out after getting dragged online for anti-gay comments she made during a recent interview with the media.

Here’s how it all went down….

During a conference call with reporters on Friday (April 8th), the 22-year-old Mississippi native, who didn’t win the singing competition but did nab a recording contract with Motown Records, was asked how she felt about Mississippi’s new law that would allow businesses, individuals, and religiously affiliated organizations to deny service to LGBT people.

La’Porsha responded:

“This is how I feel about the LGBT Community. They are people just like us. They’re not animals as someone stated before. (Ed: boxer Manny Pacquiao made those remarks. She would have sung the NA at his fight this weekend if she had won.) They’re people with feelings. Although all of us may not agree with that particular lifestyle for religious reasons–whatever the reason is. You still treat each other with respect. Everybody is a human being. We should be able to coexist with one another. I am one of the people who don’t really agree with that lifestyle. I wasn’t brought up that way, it wasn’t how I was raised. But I do have a lot of friends and a lot of people that I love dearly who are gay and homosexual and they’re such sweet, nice people. We should just respect each other’s differences and opinions and move on. “

Folks were outraged and insulted that La’Porsha would refer to the LGBT community as a "lifestyle" and proceeded to bash her on social media.

La’Porsha soon took to her Twitter account to address the situation tweeting:

We don't have to agree with each other's life choices to love/respect one another. Live and let live. #RENAETION#RespectThatWeAreDifferent

Then, she hopped on Periscope to chat with her fans where she addressed the controversy again saying she didn't mean to hurt anyone with her comments.

She explained:

“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I tried to be as open and honest and neutral as possible, but that’s the way interviews go. Sometimes when you do interviews, it gets twisted up."

“I can understand when I read it back why people were offended, and for that I deeply apologize. I wasn’t trying to offend anyone. I was just trying to honestly answer a question that caught me off guard. It was supposed to be an interview about singing, and it became political and I’m not a political person at all.”

While we can see how her words may have seemed insensitive to the LGBT community, it doesn't appear she said these things out of malice. Now that she has a major record deal, though, media training and self-education is of prime importance.

Well we didn’t see this one coming.

Nick Gordon, the former boyfriend to the late Bobbi Krsitina, will be returning to the Dr. Phil Show to open up for the first time since Bobbi K’s autopsy report was released.

You’ll recall, the last time Nick appeared on the show (in a disturbing way we might add), Dr. Phil and his mother staged an intervention in hopes that Nick would seek professional help in rehab following the death of his then girlfriend Bobbi Kristina. Bobbi K passed away last summer, six months after being found unconscious, submerged under water in a bathtub inside of her home in Duluth, GA.

Bobbi K’s autopsy report was released last month on what would have been her 23rd birthday. Now, Nick, who’s facing a wrongful death lawsuit, is speaking out for the first time since the medical examiner’s report was released.

Disney hosted a private VIP advance screening of the adventure film at the Regal Atlantic Station in Atlanta that brought out TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas who posed it up with the movie’s posters and few kiddies before heading inside.

Stylist and former reality star Tameka Foster Raymond stepped out with her boys Usher V and Naviyd, whom she shares with her ex-husband Usher.  Adorable boys!

Radio personality and Lil Wayne’s baby mama Sarah Vivan was all smiles with her kiddies Dwayne Carter III and her daughter Essence from a previous relationship.

“Married To Medicine” star Lisa Nicole Cloud and her adorable kiddies were in the mix to check out the film.

V-103 radio personality Ryan Cameron was there representing his charity foundation.

Successful producer Will Packer was thrown a surprise birthday dinner to celebrate his birthday. And a handful of his celeb friends jetted to Miami for the festivities. Plus, he surprised his teen daughter with Bryshere Gray for HER birthday.  Pics inside….

Hollywood producer Will Packer, who brought us films like Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along 2 & Think Like A Man, was thrown a surprise birthday dinner at Hakkasan Miami Beach in Miami over the weekend.

As expected, his wife Heather Hayslett was in attendance to show the birthday boy some love on his special day.

Finding time in between shooting his new dating show “Coupled,” Will’s longtime friend and collaborator Terrence J made sure he was in attendance to celebrate with his friend.

After spending time out in the pool with Baby Ace a few days earlier, new parents again Kandi Burruss Tucker and Todd Tucker were also in the mix to celebrate.

Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed jetted to Miami for the birthday fun posing it up with the birthday boy and his lovely wife.

Celebrity managers Charlie Mack and Fred Whitaker was in the mix.

New details are emerging surrounding the fatal shooting of former Saints player Will Smith. And it's all shaping up to be a bit bizarre.  More inside…..

The NFL world was rocked with news that former New Orleans Saints baller Will Smith was shot and killed during an apparent road rage incident. His wife and his wife Raquel Smith (above) was also shot, suffering from two gunshot wounds to her leg. But, new details suggest maybe there’s something more to the story.

So get this…

About an hour before Will was shot numerous times by alleged shooter Cardell Hayes, Will dined with Saints running back Pierre Thomas and former-New Orleans police officer Billy Ceravolo an hour before he was killed in the Lower Garden District.

Reportedly, Will and Cardell don’t necessarily know each other, but they are connected through officer Ceravolo.

Is there actually more to the story?

ABC News reports:

New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison said Sunday that police had no information leading them to believe that Smith and Hayes knew each other prior to the shooting, but the two are seemingly connected -- through former New Orleans police officer William Ceravolo.

Hayes filed a lawsuit in 2006 against the city of New Orleans and several New Orleans police officers -- including Ceravolo -- in connection with the deadly shooting of his father, Anthony Hayes.

Anthony Hayes was carrying a knife when he was shot by officers in December 2005, according to the suit. The New Orleans Advocate reported that the case was settled in 2011 for an undisclosed amount of money. Ceravolo confirmed to ABC News that he was friends with Smith and had dinner with the football star the night of the tragic shooting.

Coincidence?

It's also interesting to note, Cardell (above) stayed on the scene after shooting Will and even called 911 to the scene. Once cops arrived on the scene, Cardell was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder.

Cardell Hayes' temporary attorney John Fuller, told ABC News: "Not only did my client call 911, but my client secured a witness who was about to leave the scene and my client waited for law enforcement to arrive."

ABC News posted video of the aftermath where Raquel could be heard: 

Cardell's attorney said Hayes was the victim of a hit-and-run just moments before and was chasing the cars to get their license plate numbers. He said Hayes called 911 to report the hit-and-run before the accident with Smith.

Reports state a road rage incident took place.  News outlets are also now reporting that Will was also shot in the back and the torso, with his body found laying partially inside of his car.

Cardell is currently being held on a $1 million bond.

So many questions, not enough answers....

Ciara is linking up with her fellow ATL native and her former collabo artist Ludacris to host this year's Billboard Music Awards. But she's making it known she's not giving rapper Future, who's also her baby's daddy, ANY publicity. Nominee or not. Peep the epic shade she threw today inside....

While announcing the finalists for Top Rap Artist live on "Good Morning America" today, Ciara decided to go completely mute when Future's name appeared on her card as the nominee.

We all know they're not on the best of terms when it comes to custody issues of their son Future Zahir or her new man Russell Wilson.  Looks like this is Ciara's way of saying, "I've got time today for the petty."

Ummm Hillary Clinton and Mayor Bill De Blasio have folks pissed today.  And it's all over "C.P. Time."  Check out the foolishness that was caught on video inside, plus Nick Young might get his penis cut off by his fiance if he acts up again....

Not sure why Hill & Bill (not her Bill, the NYC mayor) thought this joke would go over well, but apparently, they did.

The Presidential hopeful has been all over New York state for the last week or so campaigning before the big primary on the 19th.  Over the weekend, she trekked it to the Inner Circle Dinner and caused an ish storm of controversy that had folks cringing once video surfaced today.

Hill took the stage with De Blasio at the annual black-tie event that brings together the city’s press corps, lobbyists and lawmakers.  Once she joked that it took him long enough to endorse her, his response was, "Sorry Hillary, I was running on C.P. time."

Say what now?

"Hamilton" actor Leslie Odom Jr., who was also on stage, chimed in as planned saying, “That’s not — I don’t like jokes like that, Bill.”

Hillary then chimed in saying, “Cautious politician time. I’ve been there.”

The joke had everybody cringing since we ALL know C.P. time is also short for Colored People's Time, a saying that references when black folks are stereotypically late for events.

The whole "WAGS" cast is back for season 2....and then some.  The wives and girlfriends of professional athletes who stirred up is online with their relationships (or thirst to find one) all made their first official appearance as a cast the other night.  And we've learned there's a new YBF chick in the mix who's linked to a few ballers.  Deets inside, plus model Jessica White's new show....

Over the weekend, Sasha Gates (wife of San Diego Chargers baller and 8-time Pro Bowler Antonio Gates) had her album release party.  Yep, another WAG trying to nab a record deal.  So the whole cast came out to continue shooting season 2.

Sasha was pregnant last year and had major complications toward the end of her pregnancy on the show, but she ended up having a healthy baby boy named Aven who joined big sister Ayla.

Now, Sasha wants to sing.  Since she has a ring and has been married the longest, she's also been coined the "queen" of this WAGS group.  Yeah, that's how it works in their world.  But she's in the middle of the drama this season after taking a backseat to it all last season. E! says:

This season, the rivalry between the wives and girlfriends intensifies and tensions run high as the dynamic within the group continues to evolve. Barbie is busy wedding planning but things start to unravel when she finds out that her venue fell through. When she does finally does say I do – her relationship with the two other wives, Sasha and Autumn, deepens, which drives a wedge between the non-married women and further escalates the hierarchy turmoil. Daisy Lewellyn received a tribute from Bravo and details about her funeral arrangements have been released.  We have the details inside.

Andy Cohen recently unveiled a touching tribute to "Blood, Sweat & Heels" star Daisy Lewellyn who recently lost her battle with cancer at age 36.

The TV personality's family took to her Instagram account to express their sadness and to announce funeral details.  A ceremony will be taking place next Monday:

Tickets to Kobe Bryant’s final game skyrocketed to record numbers where one fan dropped a cool $40,000. Find out who coughed up the cash inside…

Kobe Bryant will be lacing up his basketball sneakers for the last time on Wednesday. And tickets to see the Black Mamba hit the court have hit an all time high.

According to ESPN, fans have paid a StubHub average of $997 for a ticket at the Staples Center to see Kobe end his 20-year NBA career.

For his final game, Kobe’s set to hit the court against the Utah Jazz tomorrow (April 13th) and the cheapest ticket to the game will cost you about $700.

But if you’re looking to watch the game courtside, you’ll be dropping way more coins. A LOT more coins.

TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith (and friend to Kendrick Lamar) dropped a cool $40,000 for two courtside seats at the Staples Center to see his favorite basketball player close out his career. Top Dawg, who discovered Kendrick as a teen, hopped on Instagram to share a screenshot of his receipt, showing how much dough he spent on two tickets to see the Black Mamba one last time:

The Barbershop 3 cast is steady on the promo trail before the premiere of their new comedy this Friday. Come inside to peep pics of Ice Cube, Eve, Common and the rest of the cast trekking it to the AOL Build panel discussion…..

With just days before Barbershop 3 hit theaters, the cast is continuing on their press rounds to promote the upcoming comedy.

The cast has been making moves all over the nation on the Barbershop bus. Yesterday, they hit up "Good Morning America" before trekking it to AOL Build in New York for an open panel discussion about the flick.

Newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ice Cube, who stars and produces the film, was spotted making his way inside the studio. Fans were lined up outside of the building and Cube took a moment to sign a few autographs for a few lucky fans.

Speaking of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cube has been going back-and-forth on Twitter with Gene Simmons defending N.W.A’s spot in the prestigious museum. Gene previously made a comment saying he was looking forward to the death of rap and that didn't sit well with N.W.A.

During N.W.A.’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, M.C. Ren called Gene out saying,“I want to say to Mr. Gene Simmons, hip-hop is here forever. Get used to it!”

Cube then explained why Hip Hop has a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame saying:

“You g**damn right we rock and roll. Rock and roll is not an instrument; rock and roll is not even a style of music. Rock and roll is a spirit. It’s a spirit. It’s been going since the blues, jazz, bebop, soul, R&B, rock and roll, heavy metal, punk rock, and yes, hip-hop. And what connects us all is that spirit. That’s what connects us all, that spirit. Cutting a stylish look, the rapper-turned-actress, who hit the The Breakfast Club this morning, tip toed inside the studio in a pair of leopard print booties styled with a black jumpsuit and a blue mini bag. Her textured pink bob topped off her flirty look.

Eve showed mad love to the fans who were lined up outside.

Chi-town native Common was also on the scene to join the discussion about the new film. He's new to the franchise where he plays the husband to Eve's character.

The Oscar winner was all smiles as he stopped to chop it up with fans and sign autographs. Last night, Common and Ice Cube hit the stage on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" where they performed their joint track "Real People," a cut from the movie's soundtrack.

Funnyman Cedric the Entertainer looked to be in good spirits as he made his way inside the building.

The 29-year-old stunna came out to show support for the organization whose main goal is to support children’s education in developing countries.

Grammy Award winning singer Jennifer Hudson was pure perfection as she made her way to "The Daily Show" with Trevor Noah for a late night TV appearance. She amped up a simple LBD with a printed trench coat that we're obsessing over.

The Confirmation star sat down with Trevor to chop it up about her role as Angela Wright in the upcoming HBO film.

With "American Idol" wrapping up its last and final season, JHud reflected on first appearing on the singing competition show 12 years ago and how she felt about the finale season. The Oscar winner also dished on what it was like playing Shug Avery in the Broadway play "The Color Purple."

By the way, JHud wraps up her role as Shug on May 8th. Tony and Grammy Award Winner Heather Headley will join the cast as Shug starting May 10th.
