"blackish" star Yara Shahidi had her younger brothers (who are also actors) and parents and cousins Nas and Destiny Jones over for Thanksgiving dinner.  How fun is that!?  We can only imagine that dinner convo.

In New York City, the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade was underway with a few YBF stars:

Mariah threw on her red gown to become the Queen of Christmas that we know her to be.  She boarded her float and performed "All I Want For Christmas Is You" for the crowd:

Afterwards, she jetted home to be with her twins Roc & Roe....and her ex-husband Nick Cannon.

The two aren't letting their divorce get in the way of spending major Holidays with the kiddies as a family unit.  Gotta love it.

Trey Songz was in the parade as well on a float with the new Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell:

Trigga performed his new track "About You."

Andra Day also rode in the parade on the Homewood Suites by Hilton float and sang her heart out.

Jordin Sparks also belted out one of her tracks while riding in the parade.

Back in NYC:

Rihanna was stuntin' on 'em in velvet after fixing Thanksgiving dinner for her friends in the city.

J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar are moving one step closer to a collabo album....at least that's what we want to believe.  Check out America's two fave rappers swapping beats on their "Black Friday" freestyles inside...

Rap fans got a treat yesterday -- Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole rapped freestyles over each other's beats.

Once they swapped tracks, they promoted each other's track on Twitter.  So, it seems this was a strategic move that MAY be setting the ground work for a much demanded collabo album.

Ashanti performed at B.B. King Blues Club.  Rocking a skin tight black dress and thigh high boots, Ashanti posed it up with her DJ for the night Smoove SKi after hitting the stage.

We hear -- from a few attendees -- that even though Showtime was set at 11p, Ashanti didn't come on stage until almost 3AM!  Plenty of folks who purchased the $30 (minimum) ticket left, but those who stayed did get to see a show.  You decide if it was worth it.  Check out  a few clips below:

A family that laughs and plays together....(usually) stays together!  Swizz Beatz and wife Alicia Keys took kiddies Egypt and Kasseem, Jr. to the Knicks game last night and had a ball courtside.  Then the twosome turned it into a date night dancing in the streets of New York.  Get the pics and deets inside...

It's been a super busy Holiday weekend for NFL star Cam Newton...and it's ALL good. Great actually. Check out SuperCam cheering on the NBA home team, partying with Future, hitting his Alma Mater today and having a ball while doing it all....

Cam Newton is BAE...not just because he goes out of his way giving every TD game ball to kids and fans, and not just because he feeds kids in need through his Foundation, and also not just because he's arguably the best QB in the league right now (and folks hate giving him his due). But because the undefeated (this season) star is playing just as hard as he's working. And he's so damn cute while doing it.

Fresh off winning the Turkey Day matchup against the Cowboys, Cam took his talents to the other home team's arena -- the Charlotte Hornets -- to cheer on the fellas against LeBron James and the Cavs.

That doesn't mean Bron isn't his homeboy.  They shared a cute moment at the game as well:

This will be Kobe Bryant's final season.  The NBA star's big announcement is crashing the internet.  Get it inside....

During the 2012 Olympics, Lakers star Kobe Bryant made it known that would likely be his last and final Olympics.  The announcement led folks to believe  It looks like he's sticking to that thought.  Tonight, the 37-year-old legend-in-the-making announced that this 2015-2016 NBA season will be his last.

In a poem called 'Dear Basketball,' written on The Players Tribune, Kobe professed his love for the game of basketball saying:

I played through the sweat and hurt
Not because challenge called me
But because YOU called me.
I did everything for YOU
Because that’s what you do
When someone makes you feel as
Alive as you’ve made me feel.

Then, he broke the news with his next words:

You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream
And I’ll always love you for it.
But I can’t love you obsessively for much longer.
This season is all I have left to give.
My heart can take the pounding
My mind can handle the grind
But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.

He continued:

And that’s OK.
I’m ready to let you go.
I want you to know now
So we both can savor every moment we have left together.
The good and the bad.
We have given each other
All that we have. 

Needless to say, the announcement crashed their site earlier.

Kobe has had a hell of a career, 5 championship rings, 2 Gold medals, 3 total MVPs, 17 All-Star games and 20 years in the game to show for it.  Hats off to one of the best players to ever play the game.  We're sure his last season will be the most emotional and memorable one yet. #MambaOut

Sasha and Malia Obama spent their Saturday shopping in D.C., just like sister-besties typically do.  This time, it was for a cause.  AND with dad.  Pics inside of the Obamas supporting Small Business Saturday, plus First Lady Michelle Obama keeping it chic as the White House Christmas Tree made its arrival...

Small Business Saturday brought out the Obamas this weekend.  The Dad-In-Chief President Obama and the First Daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, made their way to a small bookstore in D.C. to cop a couple of their faves. 

The fam rolled to Upshur Street Books in Washington's Petworth neighborhood to grab a few of their faves ike 'Diary of Wimpy Kid', 'Dork Diaries' and novels by Jonathan Franzen and Salman Rushdie.

The girls looked cute as always while hitting the streets with their pops.

But that wasn't all...a visit to Pleasant Pops in the Adams Morgan neighborhood was on deck for the gorgeous gals and Presidental dad as well:

Back at the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama was on her FLOTUS duties with First Dogs Bo and Sunny:

Now THIS made our morning here at TheYBF.com.  Meet YBF Teen Reece Whitley inside and why he's about to become the face of TEAM USA Swimming...

He's 15, 6'8 (yes, you read that right), and a seemingly humble youngin' with an immense amount of effortless talent.  He's Philly native Reece Whitley, and he's the brand new cover star of Sports Illustrated KIDS and the 2015 SportsKid of the Year!

The new issue was unveiled this morning as Reece himself appeared on "Good Morning America."  What we're most impressed about?  He already is actively taking on the responsibility of changing the statistics surrounding black children and swimming.

When asked how he felt about stats that say over 70% of black children cannot swim (and the dangerous situations that can lead to), he said that he knows he will need to do create ways to change that. 

We believe his presence itself in the swimming world is a start!

Reece is currently in trials to compete for a spot on TEAM USA for the 2016 Olympics, and we have total faith that he's a shoe-in for the job.  His stats so far are the reason why:

...the sophomore at William Penn Charter School has won a junior national championship and holds five individual national age-group records in the pool, where he has become one of the top young swimmers in the country. His times in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke last year qualified him to compete at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials this June in Omaha, Nebraska. He’s also become a role model for young swimmers in his community and wherever he travels.

For his talent, humility, and willingness to mentor younger athletes in his sport, Reece Whitley is the 2015 Sports Illustrated Kids SportsKid of the Year.

Interestingly, Reece's first love was basketball and he still loves it.  Even after being able to dunk by 13, he switched his focus to swimming.  He says he thanks his mom for putting him in swim lessons after he failed a few swim tests when !  (Get his full story HERE.)

Things got super heated between Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams on last night’s episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Get the low-down and peep the clip of the reality stars brawlin’ on a boat inside…

In case you were watching the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards last night, we’ve got the latest on what happened on “RHOA.” And apparently, ish went totally left as the ladies tried to enjoy a day sailing on a boat.  Surprise surprise.  In true “RHOA” style, two of the ladies exchanged words and then things got physical.  Yes, they're still doing this in 2015.

Castmate Kenya Moore scheduled a" fun" girls’ day -- which she called Cynthia's bachelorette party -- where the ladies would party it up on a boat to try and cheer Cynthia Bailey up in the midst of her marital troubles. But Cynthia got way more she bargained for.

Cynthia and Porsha got INTO it and things escalated quickly where hands were thrown. Yep, Porsha was involved in yet another physical altercation on the show.

It started when Porsha came over to Cynthia to find out what she did that upset her. The two had apparently been calling each other “b*tch” in a playful manner all day, but the last time Porsha used it towards Cynthia, the model mom felt some type of way. Could it have been the drinks?  The stress over her and Peter's crumbling marriage?  Who knows.

Next thing you know, hands are flying in each other’s faces, they’re calling each other names and then these chicks are BRAWLIN’! Chile…

Check it:

#TeamTooMuch!  We really hoped the ladies had grown since the first incident.  But shade was being thrown (by you know who) within the first 30 seconds of the chicks stepping foot on the boat.  And it spread to the rest of the group and went downhill from there.

Erykah Badu has the Internet talking this morning after her extra shady intro to open up the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards last night. Get the truthful tea inside…

Known to not hold her tongue and tell it like it is, Erykah Badu held nothing back during her intro for the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards. The “Hello” songstress was tapped to host the ceremony (which she also helped produce) and her opening monologue was quite shade-ful, but very truthful, to say the least.

Ms. Badu, who just released her But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape, took center stage with a cell phone in her hand as she pretended to call up celebrities to invite them to the show. As soon as Erykah said “Uh yes…who is this? Iggy Azalea?” we KNEW something was about to go down.

If you haven’t heard, this year’s awards were specifically dedicated to all soul/R&B acts…NO RAP! So, Erykah continues, "Yeah. Hey. Oh…no, no, no, you can come because what you’re doing is DEFINITELY not rap. In fact, I’m going to send an Uber for you right now.”

While what she said was very shady, it was ALL truth and funny. Check it (before it gets snatched down):

Such a loving husband that John Legend is.

Over the weekend, John Legend took his wife and soon-to-be mother of his first child Chrissy Teigen out for some pre-birthday festivities.

While the "FABLife" co-host doesn’t officially turn 30 until today, the couple went out to party it up a little early with friends at a surprise birthday bash held at the Comedy Cellar in NYC on Saturday.

Chrissy, John and guests feasted on a special menu from Momofuku, which included dishes like tuna tataki, pork and brisket buns, chilled spicy noodles and Korean fried chicken wings. Yum.  Chrissy's a total foodie so we're sure she was in heaven.

The “All Of Me” singer hopped on stage to wish his wife a very special birthday and then began singing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday girl:

Happy Birthday Chrissy!

In new music....

John Legend is getting us in the holiday spirit with a new track. The Grammy Award winning singer has teamed up with beer brewery Stella Artois for the brand’s “Give Beautifully” holiday campaign, which includes a new song by Legend titled “Under the Stars.” The song is special as it features actual sounds from real stars in the sky.

The original holiday song, written and performed by the Oscar winner, was created to pay homage to the brand’s name, “Stella,” which directly translates to “star.” Sweet. Take a listen above.

Last night during the Babyface tribute on the Soul Train Awards, Fantasia belted out the LaFace penned track "Superwoman."  Apparently, we weren't the only ones thinking to ourselves, "Was Karyn White busy?"

We've been singing "Superwoman" damn near since grade school.  Singer Karyn White was IT back in the 80's.  So when Fantasia hollered through *clears throat* wonderfully belted out the track during Babyface's tribute while the man himself backed her on piano, we were a bit confused.  Yes, Fanny can SANG.  But damn, would it have killed BET/Centric/Soul Train to ask the person who originally sang it to perform?  Especially since they found time to get so many other throwback artists like After 7, Cameo, Tevin Campbell and others who were there.

Well, Karyn was equally confused.  The fab 50-year-old (yes, she's 50 and looks AMAZING!) took to her Facebook page to address what went down.

She says she was inundated with phone calls and messages asking if she was OK because she wasn't in Vegas to perform at the Awards.  Karyn revealed she was never called by BET, Centric or any Soul Train reps to come out and perform.  After she gave major kudos to Fantasia for the fabulous job that she did, she said she herself is still on the music scene and actually just released a new album while on a new tour.

Bottom line, she would have loved to perform her song "Superwoman," but "doesn't know" why she wasn't called.  Even though she "made it a hit."  Bloop.

If you’re an R&B/Soul head, the 2015 Soul Train Music Awards definitely put you a good space with its throwback hits/tributes, host Erykah Badu’s funny and funky energy and just seeing some of your all-time favorite performers. It was definitely one for the books.

This year’s woman of the hour was Jill Scott as she was praised for her contributions to the R&B/Neo-soul world. Ms. Jilly from Philly was presented with the first-ever Lady of Soul Award and she also nabbed the Best R&B/Soul Female Artist Award.

Before she accepted the award, a beautiful presentation that chronicled her musical career was shared from industry’s top executives and artists such as Whoopi Goldberg, Usher and more where they talked about Jill’s energy, creativity, exceptional talent and inspiration. Check it:

The WOMAN songstress was then introduced by actress Regina Hall. Jill’s 6-year-old ridiculously cute son Jett accompanied his mom as she took the stage to accept her award.

In true Jilly from Philly style, she dropped a few gems saying,

“I didn’t want to be sexy for anybody. I swear I didn’t, but I did want to write some sexy stff. Why does it matter what I look like? As long as I tell my story and you relate to it and you laugh with it, and you live with it. That’s what you’ve been doing and I appreciate the respect. Thank you for treating me with respect because I earned it. And I like it. Thank you so much.”

Following the acceptance of her award, the soulful songstress serenaded the audience with her classic tracks “Back Together,” “Long Walk,” “It’s Love,” “Golden,” “Cross My Mind,” and “Whatever.”

Host Erykah Badu hits the 1s & 2s for an amazing Soul Cypher featuring vocals from Chrisette Michele, K-Ci and the legeandary Eddie Levert. Now THIS is a cypher worth hearing. Take a listen below:

And then THIS happened...

We were blessed with an epic performance of some of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds’ greatest hits performed by some of the actual artists he wrote the tunes for. Honoree Babyface was awarded the Legend Award for his amazing contribution to the R&B/Soul world.

First, Tevin Campbell hit the stage to serenade the audience with “Can We Talk,” followed by Brandy busting some of her moves for “Sittin Up In My Room.” Fantasia then took center stage to perform Whitney Houston’s “Exhale (Shoop Shoop) and Karyn White’s “Superwoman.” (SIDENOTE: We’ve got the scoop on why Karyn didn’t perform her track. You can get those deets HERE).

As a surprise, Bobby Brown then hit the stage to perform “Roni.” We couldn’t help but notice how it appeared he was struggling to get through his set. But, he later revealed during the after show he had lost his voice earlier in the day. After Bobby, Boyz II Men came to set the mood right with their performances of “I’ll Make Love To You” & “End Of The Road.” Closing the 16-minute tribute, Babyface hit the stage to perform (and dance) his hit single “Whip Appeal.”

Creed made history its opening weekend. And to celebrate, Michael “Bae” Jordan hit up the Staples Center to peep the Lakers go head-to-head against the Indiana Pacers. Get the deets and pics inside….

This Thanksgiving weekend brought a brand new Rocky sequel featuring the sexy Michal B. Jordan. We don’t care what y’all have to say about “BAE,” we’re loving every bit of his YBF self.

Anyhwho, CREED hit movie theaters across the nation this weekend and while it didn’t land the No. 1 spot at the box office (it came in at No. 3), it DID make the history books. According to reports, the Rocky sequel raked in a whopping $42.6 million over the last five days ($30.1 million in the first three days) making it the highest grossing opening for a Rocky film. Woot! It cost a cool $35 million to produce, so we can count this film as a major success.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s worth a viewing. Along with Michael B’s sexy self there were SEVERAL pieces of YBF eye candy sprinkled throughout the movie for you liking. And Tessa Thompson did an exceptional job on her role as well.

Speaking of the Creed star…

Last night, the 28-year-old Hollywoodactor hit up the Staples Center to check out the Los Angeles Lakers square off against the Indiana Pacers.

Before the game, the YBF actor chopped it up with Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. Michael made sure to check out the iconic NBA baller during his last and final season, which Kobe JUST announced.

Luckily for Kobe and the Lakers, they defeated the Pacers 107-103. Fun times.
