Wish granted!

Over the weekend, the Internet was buzzing with news about a group of black football players at the University of Missouri who decided to go on strike! Anyone who follows college football KNOWS this is a huge deal. When you attend a school like Mizzou football is life.

So why did the guys go on strike? Well, they were boycotting as a means of calling for the removal of University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe due to his lack of response to many racist and anti Semitic acts on campus. Coaches soon followed suit and teachers/faculty threatened to walk off campus. One graduate student, Johnathan Butler, even went on a hunger strike. And it all worked!

Today, Tim Wolfe announced that he would be stepping down as president of the University of Missouri System. He made his announcement at an emergency special Board of Curators meeting Monday to address the growing racial tensions and numerous protests going on around campus. Fighting through his tears, he said,

“I am resigning as president of the University Missouri system. My motivation in making this decision comes from a love of Columbia where I grew up and the state of Missouri. I thought and prayed over this decision. It is the right thing to do … The frustration and anger I see is real, and I don’t doubt it for a second.”

Following his recognition, the board voted in favor of accepting his resignation. So, he’s out! And that’s not all…

The University of Missouri Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin also announced today that he will be stepping down as of January 1. Won’t he do it?

The “Real Housewives of Potomac” will follow a group of wealthy women who live about 40 minutes from the nation’s capitol of Washington D.C. The African-American ladies from the affluent area of Potomac are very big on etiquette and they enjoy living life in the uber fab lane inside their massive mansions, exclusive golf clubs and rocking the latest designer threads.

The new cast will include socialite and single mom Gizelle Bryant (yes, Pastor Jamal Bryant's ex wife...get your tea ready), international model and TV personality Katie Rost, grand dame Karen Huger, social butterfly Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, publicist and single mom Robyn Dixon, as well as restaurateur Ashley Darby. While their titles sound very reputable, don’t get it twisted, these ladies will bring out the claws when need be.

In the first trailer for the upcoming reality series, co-star Gizelle says "If you haven't heard of Potomac, that's fine, because that means we've done a great job of keeping it a nice, little secret.” Well now, the secret is out, and we’re here to see what goes down in the sophisticated community.

Also coming to BRAVO….

Rick Ross and Lira Galore are back on? Possibly. She’s back to wearing that engagement ring and they were together last night. Receipts inside…

Well what do we have here? Rick Ross…Lira Galore…seemingly back together?

A week after reports surfaced that the two had called off their engagement, Rozay and his chick Lira are back to spending time together. We’ve been following their social media accounts since the alleged break up and we noticed that the MMG Boss deleted all pictures of Lira on his account. He wiped her clean off. But, Lira still had photos of him up on her IG.

On SnapChat, Rick has been busy posting up videos hanging out with his homies in the studio and clips of his luxurious life, while Lira has been much more low-key than she normally is on the video platform.

Well, that all changed last night. Each of them shared snaps of their reunion as they took a ride through the city then hung out with friends.

We believe their reunion means the engagement is back on since Lira is back to rocking that massive diamond ring he gave her:

Fab chicks Serena Williams and Ava DuVernay took center stage to speak at The Fast Company Innovation Festival in NYC yesterday. More inside….

Tennis champion Serena Williams was front and center on the red carpet before taking the stage to speak at The Fast Company Innovation Festival in NYC yesterday.

Making her way down the carpet, the 21-time Grand Slam winner posed it up with NIKE CEO Mark Parker and Fast Company Editor-in-Chief Robert Safian.

Serena -- always the business diva -- and Mark presented did a presentation titled "Inside Nike's Playbook with Nike CEO Mark Parker and Tennis Icon Serena Williams" where they talked about collaborating with one another for Serena’s sneaker collection.

Later in the conversation, the 34-year-old athlete described what it was like confronting the man who tried to steal her phone. It’s hilarious. Check it:

Back on the carpet....

Fab directress Ava DuVernay hit the carpet alongside OWN Network Co-Presidents Sheri Salata and Erik Logan before her speaking segment.

In an interview with The Fast Company before the panel, the gorgeous and super talented Ava opened up and gives the raw truth on how she feels about the word “diversity." She actually dislikes the word and prefers using the word "inclusion." During the chat, she revealed why she doesn’t really like using the word saying it has become something "medicinal.”

“When we’re talking about diversity, it’s not a box to check. Diversity is not one in the room. Diversity is not two in the room. Diversity is not three in the room. True diversity is half the room," DuVernay says.

Ava then goes into why she was offended with a clip that was shown about screenwriters right before a screening of the movie 007 thriller Spectre recently. She said there was not ONE person of color in the clip and that proves we aren’t really thinking about inclusion.

She said, “These are the kinds of things that if people that see it don’t speak up, they never change," she says. "I sit there and I think, Something’s wrong with this…there are a lot of people that look a different way that weren’t included in that who also have something to say about that topic."

She then added,

"If you walk into a room and there is no one that’s not like you there, whether it’s a woman or a person of color, anyone that’s different from you, you should be able to say this is a problem," she says. "We need allies in that room to say that video, this room, this company, these ideas, this film, this whatever, this is not right—this is not good enough."

Gospel singer Kierra "KiKi" Sheard goes HARD on stage...and loses her wig.  Literally.  Peep the video of chick's wigs flying off mid-performance inside...

In case you missed it, Tuesday night, KiKi Sheard tore down the stage at the One Place Live Tour in Atlanta.  She also tore off her wig...accidentally. 

While rocking the stage mid-song, the singer and "The Sheards" reality star brought out her inner 'Yonce and started twirling that head rock star style.  Unfortunately, she didn't have rock star wig glue because her blonde wiggery went FLYING mid twirl.

She was a good sport about it all and Instagrammed the video herself.  She said:

Christina Milian is still talking about her break up with rapper Lil Wayne. And now, we know why the two really called it quits. Find out how a half naked chick on Instagram was behind it all inside….

Christina Milian is finally letting the cat out of the bag as to why she and rapper Lil Wayne REALLY called it quits after dating over a year.  All those media answers she gave before weren't necessarily the real deal.

If you believe they were ever a couple in the first place, here's your answer.

While C-Milli was on the party circuit last night (pictured above), a new episode of her reality show came on that spilled a little tea on her relationship with Lil Wayne.

On last night’s episode of her E! reality show “Christina Milian Turned Up,” Christina confronted Weezy about a photo she found on Instagram. Apparently, she came across a picture of a woman posing it up in her underwear inside the Young Money honcho’s home. Oh? Y’all know how these thirsty social media chicks be these days. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, so they called it quits.

In a recent interview with Too Fab, C-Milli opens up about her love for rap star, saying she loved him more than she loved her ex-husband The Dream. Oh?! She spilled,

"I've never loved anyone the way that I love Wayne, not even my ex-husband," Christina said in a confessional. "I've never loved anyone the way that I love him. I've never had anyone understand me the way that he has."

The reality star said she has no regrets showing her break up on national TV and that she credits her sisters with giving her the support to keep moving forward.

As far as that video “Do It” she shot with her now ex-boyfriend a month after they broke up, she said,

"I'm dropping that in December," she says. "I'm dropping my whole EP, called 'For You,' on December 4th. If people have been watching the show and watching my life, they'll be surprised and they'll really appreciate the honesty and the vulnerability in each song. It's only four songs, it's about different stages of love and also being a confident woman and knowing yourself. To see all four music videos and hear all the songs and the way we're laying them all out, it's something to be proud of and a good example for anyone who loves music and wants to do music their way."

Looks like she's keeping her focus on her music and career...for now. 

Meanwhile, last night, the R&B singer and reality star hit the red carpet at Gran Centenario Tequila’s Angels On Earth event at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood.

The 34-year-old star rocked a black tuxedo dress accented with gold buttons paired with thigh high suede boots to finish off her sexy look. Cute look for her.

As the "We Ain't Worried" singer made her rounds, she caught up with model Shaun Ross during the festivities.

Then she got to her hosting duties....

Host Christina auctioned off a pair of self painted angel wings for charity during last night's event. She also opened up about her personal life, sharing her reality show as served as therapy for her after her break up with Lil Wayne and that its allegedly inspiration for her new EP.

C-Mill still maintains she and Wayne are good friends and have great chemistry together. The mom-of-one then compared their chemistry to Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's situation, calling them the "perfect couple."  Well alright.

Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker’s son, Nico, is growing up!  We've got the exclusive first look at his fabulous 9th birthday party....and it all went down on a cruise ship!

When your parents are two of the hottest stars on television, you get a big and boss-worthy birthday party.  Nico Kodjoe just turned 9-years-old, so his parents Boris and Nicole threw him a majorly fab 9th birth​day “carnivál” to celebrate.  

The event went down just before Halloween, on Friday, October 30.  It was filmed for an episode of "David Tutera’s Celebrations," so obviously it was over the top.  The fam -- including 10-year-old daughter Sophie -- hosted the party on a Hornblower cruise ship called “The Entertainer” in Marina del Rey, California.

The Wiz Live! stars Shanice Williams and Stephanie Mills give us chills with their new “Home” duet. Take a listen and fget the first look at Lupita Nyong’o's Star Wars character inside…

We are SO here for this.

Newcomer Shanice Williams and legendary songstress Stephanie Mills have joined forces for a “Home” duet, a signature track from the original play and following productions. And it gave us chills!

Shanice is gearing up to star as Dorothy in the upcoming NBC special The Wiz Live! set to premiere next month. The iconic singer Ms. Mills will play Auntie Em in the Live show, but back in the day, she played Dorothy in the 1976 Broadway production. So it was like a Dorothy reunion of sorts. Anyhoo, both ladies brought their vocals and sound amazing, sending chills all up and down our spins.

The ladies also dished to Entertainment Weekly about how they’re preparing for the show and what’s it’s like working together on the set. Below are the highlights:

Is there anything that you want to do after this, Shanice?

WILLIAMS: Broadway’s always been my dream; that’s what I’ve been training for for the past five years, so it would be incredible for me to do Broadway. But I feel like any opportunities that come up, whether it’s film or Broadway, and even Ne-Yo’s been encouraging me to start writing music. I don’t know what’s in my future right now.

What’s it been like to work with huge names like Ne-Yo, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, and everyone?

WILLIAMS: The fact that everyone in this cast is so chill is incredible. But just to be working with [Mills] now that I’m playing Dorothy — it’s like “Oh my God!” Every time we work together I’m like, “Okay, this is real.”

MILLS: I really don’t come in contact with them. I’m Auntie Em, so I’m stuck in Kansas. Auntie Em don’t go to Oz.

Has Stephanie given you some good advice for playing Dorothy, Shanice?

WILLIAMS: One of the best pieces of advice she’s given me is always stay humble and live in the moment, because I’m not ever going to get this opportunity again. This is once in a lifetime, so live in the moment. And also, when I sing “Home,” she always reminds me, “You’re the only one on stage, and this is your moment — don’t hold back.”

MILLS: Shanice has all the innocence and purity that Dorothy should have. She’s 19 years old and she’s just wonderful in that role. I’m glad she’s basically an unknown, because she’s not tainted by anything; she’s pure.

The Wiz Live! will air on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

In other production news....

We’ve known for a while now that Lupita Nyong’o was starring in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We also knew she would be playing a female space pirate named Maz Kanata.

Now, we know what she looks like. Peep the close up above. The funny part? She’s been in plain sight for a few weeks.  But the director just confirmed it's her, today.  The official poster (below) was released a few weeks ago:

And there’s Lupita…very small and tiny… standing beside R2-D2 and C-3PO on the poster. 

According to EW, director J.J. Abrams confirms that Nyong'o's voice can be heard in the TV spot for the movie, saying,"I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes."

He adds, "I had some specific ideas about how she would work and what she would do. I had this pitch about these goggles that she wore. Her eyes are an important aspect of her character, and you’ll see how it plays out."

Here’s a little backstory on the Oscar winner’s character:

"She was a pirate for a long time… She’s lived over a thousand years. She’s had this watering hole for about a century, and it’s like another bar that you’d find in a corner of the Star Wars universe," he teased — he also said that her history won't be explored in The Force Awakens, but will instead be "coming out in other venues."

Sounds interesting.

“Variety” actress Karrueche Tran is living life like its golden these days. The 27-year-old actress/model was spotted lunching with DJ/producer Morten in Melrose this week.  Hmmm...

The KONTROL magazine cover girl kept it cute in a black Balenciaga dress paired with a black and white cage style Schutz shoes finished with a HM x Balmain bag. It appears she stepped out for a lunch meeting with the DJ…or so she claims.

These days, Kae says she’s not even mentally ready to be in a new relationship.  So their meeting was likely platonic or straight business. She told KONTROL why she’s not dating right now saying,

“I haven’t really explored dating yet and I’m not sure if I’m mentally there just because of all the stuff that I’ve been through. It’s a lot to open up to somebody. I think people are intimated by the drama [from my past relationship] and not wanting to deal with it because it’s an ongoing story. I’m very guarded and very too myself.”

It wasn't like they were super flirty or touchy feely, so we'll just call them friends...for now. But we did stumble across this tweet Morten sent out over the summer.  Seems like he had a crush on Kae:

By the way, it was 75 degrees in L.A. yesterday so it looks like Monica was hilariously doing the most with all this gear.

Jennifer Hudson is heating up the pages of O magazine with a new spread to celebrate her role in the Broadway musical The Color Purple. Get into it inside....

THIS is how you slay a magazine spread…vintage style.

Grammy Award winning singer Jennifer Hudson is gracing a few pages in the December 2015 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine. And chick is STUNNING.

The 34-year-old songstress got uber glam for the old Hollywood spread, rocking her favorite hue (purple) from designer brands Tadashi Shoji, Kate Spade and Mandalay. And the spread appears to be an ode to her debut Broadway role as Shug Avery in the "The Color Purple" revival.

Gorgeous.  One of our fave shoots of hers yet!

In the interview, the Oscar winner revealed how nervous she was to play Shug, how she staying healthy for her stint and her love of musicals. Below are the highlights:

On being a ball of nerves before her debut in the Color Purple:"I have butterflies taking on this role, but I like that," she tells the magazine. "I never second guessed it – I just hopped right in. She is such a different funky character for me and I was very attached to book and the film."

On how she’s staying healthy: “Plenty of rest, and I drink lots of warm water with lemon and honey.”

On loving musicals: "We love seeing musicals. We’ve made it to The Lion King and Wicked already. My son says, ‘Mommy, this feels like home!’”

The first preview of The Color Purple premiered this week and the official opening begins in December.

Kirk Franklin is spreading love and issues an apology to the LGBT community on behalf of the black church. Find out what he said inside….

Grammy Award winning Gospel artist Kirk Franklin is getting back on the music scene with his ninth studio album Losing My Religion.

A controversial title indeed…but Kirk told Pix11 he’s still singing about God and Jesus.  It drops tomorrow, November 13th.

In an interview with The Grio, the gospel artist had it on his heart -- we guess -- to issue a public apology to the LGBT community for homophobia being prevalent in the black church. We all know how "the black church" (generally speaking) feels about the LGBT community, but Kirk’s mission is to spread love and to let everyone know God loves them no matter what.

The Grio reports:

“I want to apologize for all of the hurtful and painful things that have been said about people in the church that have been talented and gifted and musical, that we’ve used and we’ve embarrassed… and all this other horrible crap that we’ve done,” Franklin said. “We have not treated them like people. We’re talking about human beings, men and women that God has created.”

“The Bible is not a book that’s an attack on gay people,” he added. “It’s not a book written to attack gay people.”

Overall, Franklin said he wants the LGBT community to realize that God is about grace and love.

“It is horrible that we have made it where the Bible is a homophobic manual,” Franklin said. “That’s not what the Bible is. I mean you want to talk about things that God gets at… pride and jealousy and envy and arrogance. But what we also see is God sending his son to save us all, because we were all… straight, gay or whatever, lost and in need of a savior, and there’s room at the cross for all of us.”

Adorbs!  NBA MVP Steph Curry's daughter Riley Curry has officially converted her viral popularity into an official campaign.  The precocious 3-year-old who makes the hardest rap bars sound like the cutest rhymes on earth is starring in Freshly Picked's new video ad.

The moccasin company laced little Riley with gold moccasin's for their "The Next Step" campaign to show how she and her mom Ayesha Curry go about their day at home. 

So cute!

North West was back at dance class with cousin Penelope, daddy Kanye and auntie Kourtney.  She cracks us up!

The adorable tot rocked a camo print jacket over her olive green tutu after ballet class.  Flossin' on everybody in the class we're sure.

Papa Kanye was in full on daddy mode as usual, picking up his baby girl and carrying her to the car.  We love when 'Ye is on his DAD tip!

Singer Justine Skye is speaking up about a major issue that affects women everywhere, especially her younger fans.  Find out the powerful message she issued about body image issues, plus Jhene Aiko helping to launch a global Global Gender Equality Campaign inside...

She's gorgeous, talented and has a powerful machine consisting of Atlantic Records and her entertainment lawyer mom behind her.  Singer Justine Skye isn't just besties with Kylie Jenner and Hailey Baldwin (below) like we often see from her Instagram pics, but she's also not scared to speak up about issues that matter.  That's something we appreciate, especially considering many of her fans are young women who likely face body image issues.

While in Brazil rocking out for the Tommy Hilfiger brand, the "I'm Yours" singer has been posting some fab bikini pics.  Even though we don't see any flaws, Justine does.  And she has some words of encouragement for others:

most women feel like we're suppose to look a certain way in order to be considered beautiful. you will never be the dictionaries definition of "perfect"... and you shouldn't want to be. without the flaws and the different little marks and scars that are placed on your body, you wouldn't be the unique one of one person you are today.. so love yourself and never feel ashamed to do so

CICi is fresh off her Mexican vacay with boyfriend Russell Wilson, and she's already back to pounding the sidewalk catwalk in NYC.  Yesterday, she pulled a few clothing changes going from a fur vest to a velvet Topshop jumpsuit to a fabulous coat to rock while twirling down the street:

She partnered with Unilever and Feeding America to help "Share A Meal" this holiday season to end child hunger.  On thursday, she hit the kitchen to cook up meals for a cause:

Wells Fargo & Company as well as the UNCF (United Negro College Fund) rallied students from three of the nation’s leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) —Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Spelman College —  for an interactive town hall event to promote positive images of African American youth this week.

HBCU alumni, Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins, actor and philanthropist, and Natasha Eubanks, founder and CEO of TheYBF.com, joined Wells Fargo and UNCF leaders to inspire students to use social media to share personal experiences that proactively address cultural mischaracterizations.

Terrence was spotted snapping pics with the students at the Instagram Meet Up on Clark's campus.

The collegiates were primed and ready to discuss the current social narrative involving the African American community.  Great discussion with over 300 super bright young men and women. Fab times all around!

Amber Rose is dropping financial gems for those looking to make a come up saying women should use their seduction skills to get money from men. Oh? More inside….

Budding actress and author Amber Rose (above getting her nails down in L.A. yesterday) sat down with TIME magazine to chop it up about her recently released self-help book “How To Be A Bad B*tch.” And her comments about seduction have sparked controversy.

The Sister Code actress starts out giving advice to a new set of future female entrepreneurs. She said she feels like she’s in the position to give sound advice because she has already made many financial mistakes that she hopes to help others from making. (SIDENOTE: Amber revealed she made $1million in 2011 and spent it all before she could pay the taxes on it. She eventually paid off Uncle Sam though.  No word on if she received financial help from a significant other to do so, as she suggests women should do in this interview.)

The 32-year-old entrepreneur first shared one should research the industry they’re trying to break into inside out. But then, her advice goes a little left:

“As women, we’re fortunate enough to use our seductive skills in order to be able to get money from our significant others. I also talk about seduction in the book. A lot of women don’t know how to seduce a man. It is extremely easy once you get to that point, and you can get anything you want out of them. And I know it might sound messed up, but once you get to that point, it’s not using. It’s not using a man, it’s literally getting what you want by any means necessary.”

Yeah...the look on our faces was similar to that of the nail tech above.

As much as she has been on the feminism wave and encouraging women empowerment, one would think Amber would encourage women to go out, hustle and make their own coins rather than seducing a man out of his wallet.  Financial support in any relationship CAN be beneficial...but depending upon it by way of seduction is a little...hairy.

And remember when she went off on GQabout dumbing her down and simply labeling her as someone's ex? Sighs...

She also spoke about her business skills being born out of the strip club:

“Being a dancer definitely was like being in business school,” she says, “because I constantly spoke to people. I mean, I literally had to persuade a man to give me money out of his pocket. And I apply that to my daily life. Even getting a book, you have to have an initial meeting—Hi, Simon and Schuster!—with the publisher, and you have to sell yourself.”

Amber then defends the right to be called an entrepreneur. She said being a stripper has nothing to do with her accomplishments and being capable of running her own business. She spilled,

“The fact that I was a stripper does not take away the fact that I’m smart, that I am witty, that I am capable of running my own business. There’s famous guys that were drug dealers back in the day, and no one ever brings up that fact. But as a woman, they bring up the fact that I was a hustler. And it’s extremely unfair, and I just don’t tolerate it.”

The “black-ish” kiddies and Future hit up “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night. Laugh it up with the young TV stars and check out the ATL rapper’s performance inside….

When the kids of “black-ish” get together, expect to laugh.

15-year-olds Marcus Scribner &Yara Shahidi, 11-year-old Marsai Martin and 10-year-old Miles Brown appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night where they chopped it up about the second season of the hit ABC comedy.

The YBF kiddies talked about what life is like with their newfound stardom. They each revealed which celeb they were most excited about meeting, jokes they play on each other on the set and what its like working on the set with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.  Oh, and Yara has a stylist but she's got a killer fashion sense all on her own.

For the show's musical selection....

Rapper Future rocked out with "Blow a Bag" and "Where Ya At," two cuts from his newest album DS2 which is the epitome of trap music in all its glory.

Since releasing his album, that reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, the Atlanta rapper has been keep the music circuit hot with new tracks and new visuals. He recently released a new track titled “Last Breath” to be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming Rocky spin-off Creed.  He also released visuals for his track "Colossal" yesterday. Doesn't look like Future is showing any signs of slowing up...

Cutie Marsai was seen making her way inside the “Kimmel” studio earlier in the day. We’re not sure who the man is she’s walking beside, but sure looks like it could be her father or someone closely related to her.

Future was also seen making his entrance into the studio before hitting the stage for his performance.

Hollywood vet Will Smith has began making his rounds to promote his upcoming Sports drama Concussion, set to hit theaters on Christmas. The 47–year-old hottie will be playing Dr. Bennet Omalu, the first doctor to discover the football-related brain trauma called CTE in pro-NFL players causing a whirlwind of controversy.
