Pop starlet Rihanna is in New York City this week and she's already got some new ink.  It seem like every few months, Rihanna heads down to her favorite East Village tattoo shop where she hooks up with her favorite ink artist Bang Bang.

Wednesday evening, she popped into the shop and got a new "1988" tattoo.  It's her birth year.

RiRi was seen leaving the gym in a grey t-shirt, a pair of black and white shorts and Nike sneakers.

Her workout ensemble was a part of the PUMA line she created and designed a few months ago.

Thursday evening...

Following her workout, Rihanna went home and got "prepped" for a night on the town.

Her evening attire included stilettos (to show off her ink), black skinny pants and a sexy black top (no bra).

Yasss......she and her friend were definitely serving up "Cakes" last night!

We also saw her pull a few dollars out of her purse and give them to a homeless gentleman who approached her.

During one of Wendy’s Hot Topic segments, she was discussing Ariana’s break up with rapper Big Sean. She then made comments that the 21-year-old looks like a 12-year-old girl. She said,

Well, since then, rumors have been circulating that the bootylicious budding actress and author may be getting her own show. We haven’t heard anything about the show since then…until now.

Amber hopped on Twitter to hint at the possibility of her own show. She tweeted:

The stars of FOX hit series "Empire" stepped out in spectacular fashion for VOGUE'S September issue (with Beyonce on the cover) in a stunning pictorial snapped by Mario Testino and styled by Camilla Nickerson.

And as you enjoy the photos, you'll notice a few famous cameos alongside director Lee Daniels, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett and Trai Byers.

The group was joined by Naomi Campbell (Season 1) and model Jourdan Dunn and singer The Weeknd. 

While we aren't sure if either Jourdan or The Weeknd will make cameos this season, we do have two new guest confirmed for the show. Entertainmet Weekly revealed that Reverend Al Sharpton and fashion icon André Leon Talley will show their support for the embattled music CEO Lucious Lyon at an epic, outdoor “Free Lucious” concert. You can peep a glimpse of them in the Season 2 trailer we posted.

Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus had a change of heart and no longer wants to play college football at UCLA. We hear he wants to get into film. Deets inside….

Incoming UCLA freshman Cordell Broadus, son of Snoop Dogg, has changed his mind about his college career. He just quit...before he even stepped foot on the field.

According to Bruin Report Online, the four-star receiver (a Bishop Gorman High School recruit) hadn’t reported to UCLA’s fall camp in San Bernardino, which started Monday. At that time it was unknown why Cordell opted not to play, but his coach spoke out to confirm the news and why he decided not to hit the field.

UCLA coach Jim Mora released a statement on Friday that reads:

"Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life -- in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions. Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA."

Yep, Cordell is going from the gridiron to Hollywood. Can’t say we’re too surprised though. When Snoop is your pops, the opportunities are endless.  So it appears he’s just exploring other options.

Meanwhile, Diddy’s son Justin Combs returned to the football field a few days ago following that scuffle between his dad and strength coach Sal Alosi, which landed his pops in jail.

According to TMZ sources, Diddy is NOT allowed to attend practices, but he’s still showing love from afar. He posted to Instagram:

In a heartfelt open letter, Drake calls for the end of senseless violence after shots rang out during an after party for his OVO Festival earlier this month, claiming the lives of two people. Come inside to read his thoughts and get the deets on Terrence Howard's emotional day in court yesterday….

Drake has penned an open letter to his fans after a senseless act of violence claimed the lives of two people during the after party for his sixth annual OVO Festival in Toronto earlier this month.

23-year-old Duvel Hibbert (whom police say was targeted) and 26-year-old innocent bystander Ariela Navarro-Fenoy were killed, while 3 others were injured, during a shooting inside Muzik nightclub on August 4th. It’s still unclear whether Drizzy (or any other celebrity, i.e. Kanye West) was inside the club when the shooting took place. Its reported police have released two descriptions of the alleged shooters, but no arrests have been made.

Now, the Toronto native is calling on his fans to stop the violence and offers up his condolences to the families who have been affected. On his official OVO website he writes:

The last few days I have been in a moral bind.

I am used to the fact that my life and the things I say to my fans are‎ closely watched. It's tough in situations like this where there's a tragedy and I consider the advice of my trusted advisors and counsel who worry that anything I might say could be misinterpreted.

However, today I am choosing to follow my heart.

I am plagued and pained by the violence that continues to escalate in our city. I stare into the eyes of so many young people and I wish to see them all shine as bright as they possibly can in this lifetime. I encourage my generation to show as much value and gratitude as you can for the lives we have been gifted.

My deepest condolences go out to the Navarro-Fenoy and Hibbert families for their loss of Ariela and Duvel. Along with them I send my condolences to all of the families that have lost loved ones to the senseless violence that has and continues to occur in our city.

Although Toronto is globally viewed as a major city, at the core we are still a small close-knit community, and it is our public responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of one another. We need each other to further our communities for generations to come.

I pray for better times and better understanding.

We told you“Empire” star Terrence Howard would be taking the stand in his court battle with ex-wife Michelle Ghent. Terrence and Michelle are currently in court as the actor attempts to have his divorce settlement thrown out. He claims Michelle extorted money from him, threatening to expose his sex life if he didn’t pay up, and threatened to release information about him that could ultimately affect his career, so he wants the settlement nullified.

During court proceedings yesterday, the Hustle & Flow actor took the stand where he ended up breaking down to tears as he testified. According to new reports, Terrence claims the only reason he signed the settlement agreement was because Michelle threatened to release medical information about him that would likely make it impossible for him to continue working in Hollywood. Oh?

TMZ reports:

Howard was referring to a conversation he taped when Michelle Ghent was on the phone threatening to telling various people he had an STD.

He also testified he felt pressure to sign the settlement agreement -- giving her an unusually large sum of money -- because she threatened to release a sex tape featuring him and another woman.

Howard blew his nose as he fought back tears on the stand, taking deep breaths as he testified.

He's trying to undo the settlement -- giving her $5,800 a month in spousal support and a chunk of his "Empire" earnings -- on grounds he signed the doc under extreme duress.

Well damn. Good luck with this one Terrence.

Last night, the Pop princess and her besties Melissa Forde& Leandra headed out to party it up at The Griffin in NYC’s Meatpacking District.
 

The “BBHMM” singer flossed her killer legs in a short white mini skirt styled with a funky neckline white tank, white Tom Ford sandals…and her new fave accessory: the Dior Resort 2016 Diorama bag. As the new face of Dior, she has been spotted rocking this bag on the party scene recently. Ahh...gotta love the perks.

Lewis, the ex-boyfriend of singer Nicole Scherzinger, waited until Rih got inside before he hopped out and made a bee-line to the door:

He tired to keep a low-profile, rocking a pair of shades as he made his way inside. Rih's rumored flame finished his look with a black Fedora, a black ripped t-shirt, gray distressed jeans and a pair of black high-top sneakers.

While neither Rih nor Lewis have confirmed or denied anything, something is brewing between the two. We first spotted them getting it in at Kadooment Day in Barbados during Crop Over. The next day, Lewis was living it upon a boat with Rih and her girls doing water spots.

Once back in the States, the twosome was spotted leaving 1Oak nightclub after partying it up with Diddy, Cassie, French Montana and more a few days ago. And we hear they went out to eat afterwards. If they are a couple...or even "dating"...we're NOT mad. They would make one HOT couple.

Last night, Nicki Minaj’s concert in the Bay Area went totatlly left after a brawl broke out resulting in people getting pepper sprayed! See how Nicki helped diffuse the situation inside…

Nicki Minaj’s “Pinkprint Tour” rolled into Concord, CA last night. And what started as a night of fun with her fans, turned into an all out brawl, resulting in some fans getting pepper sprayed.

Here’s what we know…

The “Anaconda” raptress hit the stage to perform her lively set before the sold out crowd. Towards the end of the show, a violent brawl broke out in the audience. We’re not exactly sure why these chicks were fighting, but they were throwing down in the Concord Pavilion after concertgoers began pushing and shoving. So, authorities swooped in and sprayed mace to break up the multiple fights.

Once the 32-year-old raptress realized they were fighting, she stopped the music and called up one of the young ladies to the stage who was maced. And it was caught on video:

It appears Straight Outta Compton will dominate the box office this weekend with record-breaking numbers. Come inside to get the deets on the opening night sales and projections for the weekend….

Straight Outta Compton is a force to be reckoned with in the box office this weekend. N.W.A.’s biopic hit theaters on Friday and it has successfully taken over movie theaters across the nation.

According to Deadline, the blockbuster film’s opening night raked in a whooping $24.3 million making it the fourth highest opening day for an August release, beating out films such as Rush Hour 2 ($23.1M) G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra ($22.2M), and Signs ($20.9M). Yes! 

So what can we expect the movie to bring in by the end of the weekend? Its being projected the film will clean up the box office with a total $59 million in sales for its debut weekend. Wow!

One thing is for sure, if you haven’t seen it yet, you will want to hit the movie theater quick…it’s a MUST see.

NBA player J.R. Smith proposed to his baby momma recently, and his daughter Demi was his wing woman!  Watch the adorable engagement clip inside and see James Harden celebrating his birthday and Adidas deal with Khloe Kardashian in Houston.

Over the weekend, NBA baller J.R. Smith (of the Cleveland Cavaliers) uploaded an adorable video showing how he proposed to his baby momma Shirley.  J.R. (shown above with daughters Demi and Peyton) roped 6-year-old Demi into the "proposal" by having her ask Shirley, "Mommy will you marry us?  Yes or naw?"  Once Shirley (shown below) gained her composure and stopped laughing, she said yes!

It goes without saying that J.R.'s proposal caught us off-guard since he had been dating a chick named Ashley.  In fact, Ashley  was seen hanging out at a Cavaliers game with Teyana Taylor in May.  Oh wells.....we wonder if she found out about the engagement via Instagram.....

Down in Houston...

Houston Rockets baller James Harden, who's turning 25-years-old on August 26th, kicked off his birthday festivities early, and  his boo Khloe Kardashian was by his side. The twosome (shown above during a random trip to Chipotle last week) have been boo'd up in the Bayou City for a few days now, following Khloe's arrival after a run-in with her ex-husband Lamar Odom.

Friday night, the pair linked up with a few of James' friends and partied at Aristocratlifes Engineroom. Sources on the scene say Khloe and James were VERY close all night and danced together for several hours.

The venue was decorated with posters congratulating James on his $200 million Adidas deal and fellow NBA players Zach Randolph and Pat Beverley were there to cheer him on as well.

Rihanna went from 0 to 100 real quick after she caught wind that NBA baller Matt Barnes implied they might be involved in a romantic relationship. Find out how she called a foul on the play inside….

NBA baller Matt Barnes went for a HUGE 3-pointer... alluding he was in a relationship with international Pop star Rihanna...but chick called foul…real quick!

Over the weekend, TMZ caught up with Matt, who was recently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, after he participated in a baseball game at the UCLA Softball Stadium.

There have been rumors circulating that RiRi and Matt were hooking up (although she’s been spotted all over with Lewis Hamilton), so when photogs caught up with the NBA star they asked him about it. He said, “Rhianna’s my friend now so we’ll see where it goes.”

When asked if there was a possibility for a relationship in the future, he responded,“Yea, possibly. I think it's just past the crush stage…just a little bit though.” His ex-wife Gloria Govan was even supportive of their supposed relationship.

Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines was reportedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend on Sunday, and now the cops have cuffed him for murder!  Read what witnesses say happened inside and see the tribute Morgan posted on Facebook... 

Sunday morning at 3 a.m., 33-year-old E'Dena Hines, the step-granddaughter of famed actor Morgan Freeman, was reportedly stabbed to death in New York City by her live-in boyfriend, whom witness say was in the midst of a psychotic breakdown.

Lamar Davenport, shown above, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of E'Dena, and details surrounding the case are shocking.  George Hudacko, who witnessed the early morning attack from his apartment window in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan,  said he heard Lamar scream “Get out, devils! I cast you out, devils! In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out!” as he repeatedly stabbed E'Dena in the chest with a hunting knife.

"The girl was making a lot of noise, screaming. I called 911 — I was begging them to come,” said George.

According to a police source, officers who arrived on the scene say Lamar continued his attack even as E'Dena laid lifeless on the sidewalk.  One cop said, he “was still making a stabbing motion with his arm, but he had nothing in his fist — the knife was jutting out of her chest.”

Following his arrest, Lamar was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital for a psychological evaluation and has been charged with murder.  Meanwhile, EMS rushed E'Dena to Harlem Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

E'Dena, whose grandmother Jeanette Adair Bradshaw was Morgan's first wife, first made headlines in 2012 after Morgan had to squash reports that they were lovers. We now know that was not the case.

Before her life was tragically cut short, E'Dena followed in Morgan's footsteps, nailing several great roles.  She was a graduate of NYU’s Graduate Acting Program and played Beneatha in “A Raisin in the Sun” on Broadway in 2012.  And in April 2015, she co-starred in the indie film “Landing Up.’  The film’s director, Daniel Tenenbaum, told the NY Post, “She was an amazing, incredible, loving human being.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, Mr. Freeman reflected on his step-granddaughter's talent, saying,

"The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer."

"Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

"May she rest in peace."

He also posted a message on Facebook.

Straight Outta Compton headed straight to the top of the box office, easily smashing the weekend competition.  Find out how well the film performed inside...

Universal's N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Comptontopped the weekend box office, earning an estimated $60.5 million in its debut weekend, according to Deadline.

The F. Gary Gray film, which was produced with $29 million budget, easily made the studio's money back and then some.

Sadly, the same can't be said for the Guy Richie film The Man From U.N.C.L.E which opened in 1,000 MORE theaters than "SOC," but only managed to make $13.5 million....and their budget was $80 million! Womp Womp.

Diddy stopped by “The Breakfast Club” for a candid interview where he sets the record straight on if he really slapped Drake, whether he’s suing BET & “Empire” and he his relationship and “love contract” with Cassie. Get it all inside….

High off celebrating 20 years in the rap game, Diddy stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to promote his new single “Finna Get Loose” featuring Pharrell Williams.

Diddy, who’s currently going by Puff Daddy, brought his son Christian Combs along with him (and he’s launching his own rap career too as King Combs). Puff and the Bad Boy is family is gearing up for a reunion tour of sorts, but no details on dates and cities were revealed.

As a gift, 50 Cent sent up a case of EFFEN vodka for Puff at the studio. Y’all know these two have been going back and forth in the “spirit wars.” Diddy revealed he sent him a lifetime supply of Ciroc, so Fif was returning the gesture…sort of. These two…

During his chat with the radio hosts, Puff dished on the rumors that he SLAPPED Drake during an altercation (“I did not put hands on Drake"), he addresses the Drake vs. Meek Mill rap beef ("At the end of the day, it’s all about the lyrics”), the situation with his son’s football strengthing coach which landed him in jail ("It was just a miscommunication”), falling on stage at the BET Awards ("I had to get back up.”) and his “love contract” with his girlfriend Cassie.

Below are the highlights:

On if he really slapped Drake outside the club in Miami:
“I did not put hands on Drake. And I do not want any problems with Drake. Drake is…right now…he’s putting in his work right now. Drake is my friend. 0 to 100 was initially my record. Then, somehow there was a misunderstanding because we were working with the same producers.

Angela: You sent Drake the song for him to get on it?
“No, no, no, for him to ghostwrite for me. As an artist, your allegiance is to make the best record you can. I’m not an emcee, I’m not a rapper. I’m a ringmaster. I’m an entertainer.”

On Drake vs. Meek Mill rap battle:
“Drake is honestly my favorite rapper as far as song writing and albums. Meek [Mill] is my boy. At the end of the day, it’s all about the lyrics.”

On Meek Mill using his voice in his diss-record “Wanna Know”:
“That was something from Instagram. I didn’t even know [he used it]. He didn’t ask me. He probably felt he had permission since we rock together. But, I’m not in the middle of that. Drake please, don’t do no ‘back-to-back-to-back.’ [laughs]”

On the aftermath of his scuffle with his son Justin Combs’ football strengthening coach:

On falling into a hole while performing at the BET Awards:

As I’m falling in the hole, its actually time is slowed down dramatically. I’m like ‘Yo, my name is Puff Daddy. I’m one of the coolest cats in the world. It’s 35 million people watching. You’re about to be the guy who fell in the hole. I’m super black man. I put my cape on, I push myself up and I said ‘You have to land back on beat.’ I was scared, I’ve never been this afraid in my life. I had to get back up.”

On suing BET:

“Nah, I’m not suing them.”

On suing Empire:
“Nah, nah, that was a rumor. I think people are allowed to take creative licesne if you’re in the public eye. It’s one of my favorite shows.

On not allowing his son Quincy to be on “Empire”:
“That was Qunicy’s decision [not to be on the show].”

On his love contract when he’s in a relationship:
“I don’t want to promise her nothing I can’t deliver. If I’m in a relationship with you, 25% of the time [you’ll be unhappy], then the other 75% I’m going to make you the happiest woman in the whole wide world. You know how I am, this is what it is 25%/75%...which deal would you choose? Marriage is about honesty. This is a different type of marriage. Let’s be honest. I’m bringing 25% of some bullsh*t.”

On Cassie:
“My personal life I like to keep it private but as you become closer, you can’t be watching every camera. Just sometimes, you get tired of ducking and hiding from the cameras.”

Pop starlet Ciara is currently in Seattle with her boo Russell Wilson. Last night, they watched the San Antonio Stars battle the Seattle Storm.......and the Storm won (72-63).  But Cici and Russell weren't alone in their courtside seats. The couple was joined by Anna Wilson (Russell’s sister), and his mom.  And from the looks of their body language, the Wilsons seem to really like Ciara.  Hmmm....we wonder if Mama Wilson is ready for a new daughter-in-law?

In other Cici tidbits, the "Dance Like We’re Making Love" singer chatted it up with radio personality Sway recently, and he asked about abstinence with respect to Russell Wilson.  He joked, “When Russell sees that video, are you giving him any idea of what it’s gonna be like?”

CiCi responded, “You’re putting me on blast right now. We definitely should dance like we’re making love, and we should, yeah, whenever the time comes.”

“RHOA” star Kandi Burruss was smitten after she was surprised with a baby shower over the weekend.

The soon-to-be mom again was wrapping things up after a convention with her Bedroom Kandi consultants where they came bearing gifts for Baby Tucker! Kandi captioned the surprise saying,“Today our #BedroomKandi convention ended & my consultants surprised me with a baby shower! Thank you! That was a great surprise! BedroomKandi.com” Well that was nice of them.

As we can see, none of the gifts subliminally tell if it’s a boy or a girl, so we’re still waiting to find out if they'll be welcoming a boy or a girl soon.

Daytime tv show host Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie Harvey hosted a luxe graduation/going away party for their high school graduates Wynton (Steve's son from a previous relationship) and Lori Harvey (Marjorie's daughter from a previous relationship) over the weekend.

The brother-sister-duo is now headed off to college, leaving Steve and Marjorie "empty nesters." We’re sure they’ll be loving their new "freedom" if you catch our drift.

Serving face and legs, the 50-year-old baddie flossed in a Valentino frock styled with nude sandals before getting the party started. Work!

In today's YBF kids roundup, we're checking out rapper Tyga and pop diva Mariah Carey with their little ones.  Come inside... 

Yesterday, paparazzi photographed Tyga and his son King Cairo Stevenson attending services at the Center For Spiritual Living in Los Angeles. 

While in the parking lot, he and Cairo ran into some fellow worshipers and engaged in some good Christian chit chat.

Surprisingly, Tyga's 18-year-old girlfriend Kylie Jenner didn't attend the services.  We have seen Tyga and Kylie attend church together in the past, but this weekend might have been difficult for her.  We suspect she's still recovering from the numerous parties she's been throwing over the past few days.

In Ibiza....

The paparazzi took a few pics of Mariah Carey and boyfriend James Packer stepping off a ferry and arriving in Ibiza with her twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Mariah looked casual in a long black dress with matching black heels while she dressed Roe up in a bright yellow dress.  

Earlier in the day, sources say the group were seen sailing around on James' yacht, the Arctic P. We sure hope Mimi is on vocal rest. Tomorrow, she's doing a “greatest hits” performance at the Rishon Lezion Ampitheater.
