Tyrese is an independent artist in the music world, and the other day, he did what independent artists do.  Well, those who aren't in billion dollar films and already have several mainstream albums under their belts.  Check out Black Ty's "impromptu" subway promo caught on video...

So Black Ty was riding the NY subway this week when he felt the need to stand up and announce his independent album is on iTunes now.  Yes, the announcement was made to the whole subway train car....like the product pushers do when they come on trying to sell stolen goods.

Ty got some love from a fan during his announcement, and it's loud and hilarious.  He posted the video above saying:

"I said fuck it... And went independent I'm in Brooklyn NY on the train selling my #BlackRose album and this happened!!"

Ha!  His Black Rose album, which he claims will be his last solo project, is now #1 in 12 countries....so we guess his antics are working.

THE G.O.A.T. IS HERE!  Serena Williams just became the Wimbledon 2015 champion!  Deets on her 'Serena Slam' inside...

With 122 MPH serves (but more faults than she's used to), there was no way Serena Williams was losing today.  After a more intense match than expected against Garbine Muguruza of Spain moments ago at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, Serena won her 6th Wimbledon championship!

Serena defeated her newbie opponent 6-4, 6-4 to win her fourth consecutive Grand Slam tournament, beginning with last year's U.S. Open and including this year's Australian and French open titles.

She's 33... and showing absolutely NO sign of slowing down.  Next up: The U.S. Open in New York kicking off August 31st.  If (well, when) she wins, she'll go down in history as the first woman since Steffi Graf (in 1988) to win all 4 of the major tournaments in one calendar season.  She'll be only the fourth person overall in tennis history to do so. And she's also set to tie Steffi's record of 22 titles.

We're ALL the way here for it.  Congrats Serena!

She may be a perfectionist who yelled at HERSELF during the Wimbledon championship match today each time she faulted, but all we saw was strength, experience and a flawless recovery.  Oh, and 12 aces and 100+ MPH serves.  And that's why we love her.

Our spirit animal Serena Williams was classically Serena rallying back from several breaks for a major win against Garbine Muguruza of Spain.  Garbine said afterwards, "I want to (congratulate) Serena who is showing us she is world No. 1."

The Compton native not only wins on the court, but she wins at having the most celeb packed VIP box at tennis matches.  Today, at the All England Club, Drake returned to cheer on his long time homie.

While Serena denies anything is going on between her and the hottie rapper, we all know how Drake gets about gals who catch his eye.  So he's been at nearly all her matches watching her fight for another 'Serena Slam' (winning four straight majors).

Serena's sister Venus, whom she knocked out of a previous round, made her way in as well:

Once inside, she changed clothes and sat with fashion goddess Anna Wintour.

Dave Chappelle was also there to cheer on the champ.  And plenty other Hollywood stars.

Comic-Con International 2015 is underway at the San Diego Convention Center. And plenty of our faves -- if you're comic/horror genre fans like us -- are taking over this weekend.

Has the reigning First Couple of the NBA welcomed baby #2?  It seems that way.  Get the deets inside...

[UPDATE] Ayesha Curry has confirmed the baby news, revealing that the family's brand new baby girl's name is Ryan Carson Curry!  Here's what she said on her personal blog:

God is amazing. The gift of life is truly an indescribable thing. We were fortunate enough to experience it all over again friday night! Our beautiful little Ryan Carson Curry arrived perfectly healthy and happy!

She arrived a little early through a quick 3 hour labor and was a small 6lbs 1 oz. I was able to birth her naturally without an epidural. This is something I’ve always wanted to do and was so happy to get through it with the help of my darling husband and amazing doctor. This time around I felt more prepared and was able to take in the entire process. It was a miracle!

Stephen, Riley and I are enjoying this gorgeous gift from God and basking in the present! We are now officially a family of 4! Riley is completely enamored with her little sister and has taken on her role as big sister beautifully. I am already so proud of her!

NBA champ Steph Curry and wife Ayesha Curry may have already welcomed the newest Curry baby to the family.

While the couple previously announced the due date would be around this time, we haven't heard any updates from Steph or Ayesha herself.  Until yesterday when the Golden State Warrior tweeted out this message:

This definitely raised our eyebrows as it sounded like he could be praising his wife for handling the birthing process like a pro.  Our suspicions were confirmed when Steph's sister, Sydel Curry, commented on a Steph Curry fan page.   She revealed:

She says the new baby was born on Friday, July 10th.   If all of this rings true, congrats are in order for the Currys!

There's good news for the Brown family amidst the dark cloud of sadness that has permeated the family since Bobbi Kristina entered hospice in January.  Bobby Brown & Alicia Etheredge just welcomed a new baby girl.  Deets inside... 

According to Entertainment Tonight, Bobby Brown's wife Alicia Etheredge checked in to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Friday night.  By Saturday, labor was induced.

The publication confirms the couple welcomed a bouncing baby girl.  Sweet! She will be joining big brother Cassius, who's 5 and Alicia's first child, and the newborn makes for Bobby's sixth child total.

The couple has been married since 2012 and has weathered through some pretty serious storms over the years.  So this good news, we're sure, is very  much welcomed.

When Kylie Jenner posted up a pic of her hair in cornrows, Amandla Stenberg went on her page and left a comment to school her on cultural appropriation. 

Amandla, the 17-year-old who plays "Rue" in the huge box office hit film, is no stranger to schooling people on the concept. Back in April, she posted one of her high school projects to her Tumblr account explaining cultural appropriation in depth....and it went viral.  She was only 16 at the time.

Now, fast forward to several hours ago when Amandla caught wind of Kylie Jenner's recent Instagram post where the reality star is flossing in some cornrows.  We all know Kylie loves to mimic natural features of black women, and she is completely oblivious to why her imitation -- that she often pays for -- is problematic.  It doesn't help that she receives praise for the very features and cultural adaptations that black women themselves get berated for.

Well, Amandla gave Kylie quite the reading.  She did so while simultnaeasuly hijacking the trending hashtag #whitegirlsdoitbetter.  Genius. Check out the comment she left on Kylie's IG post below:

Along with Steve Stoute, the two spent the day at the Malibu County Market and grabbed food at Nobu.  Now that Kim's showing, she's not letting that baby bump stop her spandex dress and heels show.

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson and girlfriend Kayla Phillips hosted a baby shower over the weekend to celebrate their pregnancy.  See photos inside...

Over the weekend, DeSean Jackson, a wide receiver for the Washington Redskins, and his girlfriend Kayla Phillips, welcomed friends and family to their home for a sports-themed baby shower.

You'll recall that we confirmed the couples' pregnancy a few months ago (see baby announcement here).

Kayla is expecting a baby boy and this will be DeSean's first child while she has a son from a previous relationship.

We'll all be able to join in on the "family" fun via the small screen as DeSean and Kayle are currently starring in the BET reality series, “DeSean Jackson: Home Team.” The show also features appearances from DeSean's "momager" Gayle, his sister and assistant A'Dreea, and his publicist Denise.

Over on Twitter, DeSean revealed that his first-born will also carry his name...

Plus, guests chowed down on a sports-themed dessert table courtesy of Platinum Candy Buffets. Yummy!

We spotted YBF chick Alexandra Shipp (with Michael B. Jordan) at Comic Con over the weekend and peeped her new bald head!  See pics from the event inside and get the deets on why she chopped it off.

Over the weekend, a few of our favorite YBF actors and actresses flocked to San Diego for Comic-Con to promote their latest projects. We spotted YBF starlet Alexandra Shipp among the panelists....with a shocking new look. She's bald!

As we told you a few weeks ago, Alexandra ("Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B", "Drumline: A New Beat") will be stepping into Halle Berry's shoes to recreate Halle's "Storm" role in the upcoming X-Men prequel, X-Men: Apocalypse (due May 2016).

Alexandra plays a very young "Storm" as the prequel is set 20-years before the famed X-Men films.  And 20 years ago...Storm was bald!  

During the panel, Alexandra (with co-stars Olivia Munn, Ben Hardy, and producer Simon Kinberg) hinted at what we can expect from young Storm and her journey. "Storm is kind of lost. She doesn't know who she is or how powerful she can be, and she finds Apocalypse who's like a God, and she's just finding her way and hopefully she can find her way to the X mansion."

FUN FACT:  Michael B. Jordan (atop) is set to play Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four film.  So....we're going to call the Alexandra and Michael selfie a STORM-IE!

While Zoe Kravitz said in an interview she was single, things have changed in her love life.

Yesterday, the Insurgent star was spotted flaunting her bod in a bikini on the beach in Miami. But she wasn’t alone….
 

The Lolawolf songstress was spied in the bushes lip locking with singer George Lewis Jr. (aka Twin Shadow)! Mmhmm…..

You may recall the twosome performed a rendition of Sade’s “No Ordinary Love” on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” back in May. Were they singing about their “unordinary love?” We would like to think so.

We’re not quite sure when they met, but we do know they were on tour together back in April. Zoe and her band Lolawolf opened for Twin Shadow before the tour got post-poned (after the band got into an accident). Unfortunately, George’s injuries required him to undergo reconstructive hand surgery.

He told NYLON magazine that Zoe has checked on him often and that her “big heart” is one of her best attributes. He added, “Zoë really is so down-to-earth. She surprises you with how natural she is.”

Looks like Zoe is helping him recover and he will be just fine.

The DOPE star made sure to get in some fun in the sun (and male companionship) before she heads back on the set to shoot for sci-fi thriller Allegiant.

Six-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams celebrated her 21st career Grand Slam victory during the Wimbledon Champions' Dinner at the Guidlhall in London last night.

When she entered the function, Serena stunned the crowd of fans and onlookers in her each floor-length embellished gown.  She looks amazing.

By the way, Serena's victory "stance" is well-earned.  She's won four Grand Slam tournaments in a row (U.S. Open, the Australian Open, the French Open and Wimbledon).

She shared the evening with fellow Wimbledon champ, Novak Djokovic of Serbia (sidebar - It's his third Wimbledon victory).

To cap off their glorious evening, she and Novak joined hands and danced to the Bee Gees classic "Night Fever."

Evelyn Lozada’s new reality show “Livin’ Lozada”, which chronicles her new life with baseball player Carl Crawford, her relationship with her 21-year-old daughter Shaniece andbecoming a mom again to Carl Leo Crawford Jr., premiered this weekend on the OWN Network.

The former "Basketball Wives" star received exciting news that she’s pregnant again! But unfortunately, the good news turned into every mother’s nightmare when her doctor made her aware of possible complications with the pregnancy. When she first got news that she was six weeks pregnant, the 39-year-old reality star seemed excited and scared that she would become a mother again. She said:

Excited to share the news, Ev heads over to her daughter Shaniece’s house. But on her way to her daughter’s house, Evelyn’s doctor leaves a devastating voicemail with an update on her pregnancy.

Ev sits down with Shaniece as she begins to tell her that she may be a big sister again, but becomes overwhelmed with emotion once she starts telling her what the doctor said. She said,

"When I went [to the doctor] yesterday and she's like, 'Everything seems fine.' When I was on my way here, she left me a voicemail. She said that my hormone levels have dropped. When you're pregnant, your hormone levels are supposed to be in the thousands. And [mine] went all the way down to 50."

Sadly, with her hormones levels being so low, it’s possible she could lose the baby. She added,

"Most likely, I'm going to end up miscarrying the baby.”

While news of a possible miscarriage is troubling, Ev is holding on to hope that her miracle baby will pull through. She said,

"Honestly, I'm just trying to hold on to hope. This is going to happen. I’m sure many women have gone through this, and this is going to happen. We're going to have this baby. It's going to be a miracle. A miracle baby."

Last night, the new season of “BBW: L.A.” premiered on VH1 and “BBW L.A.” stars Malaysia and Brandi Maxiell hosted a season 4 premiere party at The Parlor in Hollywood last night, powered by The Brand Group.

Malaysia was all smiles as she rolled up on the scene solo. Unfortunately, the reality star is going through some very troubling times in her life. On top of getting a divorce from her NBA baller husband Jannero Pargo, the mother-of-three is also dealing with the death of a close family member. Sadly, her younger brother Dontae was fatally shot by LAPD in a park a few months ago.  Malaysia says he reached down to get something out of his pocket when police mistakenly thought he was reaching for a gun. He was shot in the head and died.

During the party, Malaysia thanked all of her supporters for the outpour of love as she deals with two devastating situations.
 

Malaysia’s bestie and co-star Brandi Maxiell brought her husband Jason Maxiell, who plays for the Charlotte Hornets, along as her date.

“BBW LA” newbie Patrice Curry, wife to former NBA star Eddy Curry (who currently plays for the Shandong Kingston Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association) was also on the scene.

“Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star Mally Mall came out to support his fellow VH1 counterparts.

And it appears fun times were had all around.

Rapper 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy today.  Find out what his lawyer said about his finances inside.....

Earlier today, Curtis "50 Cent" James Jackson III, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  Yes....you read that correctly. Mr "Vitamin Water" himself claims he's poor. The documents were filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn. with 50 Cent's legal team claiming he has reported assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million. And up to 49 creditors!

Now....timing is everything. His bankruptcy claims come days after a jury ordered him to pay $5 million to  Lastonia Leviston, who you'll recall is Rick Ross' baby momma.

A little backstory, a few years ago, 50 Cent posted a sex tape (featuring Lastonia and an old boyfriend) on his website without her consent.  She subsequently sued him because of the humiliation it caused, claiming it drove her to depression.  We think this "bankruptcy" is just a Petty Betty legal maneuver to protect his assets and avoid paying the settlement.  Hey, bankruptcy filing works for Donald Trump and the like when they want to avoid paying debts.  Tsk Tsk.

But here's why we're confused.  You'll recall that 50 regularly appears on FORBES list of Hip Hop's wealthiest individuals.....so what happened? Isn't he worth nearly $100 million?

Umm.....did he just hashtag 3 companies? The same three companies with whom he constantly brags about doing million dollar deals?  He needs to explain this "bankruptcy."

Sway.....we want answers. And luckily, 50 Cent will appear on "The Talk" tomorrow.  We're sure they will grill him...

Rapper Da Brat has landed a new gig on a very high profile radio.  Get the deets inside and read about Sherri Shepherd returning to "The View."

Rapper Da Brat is rocking the mic again...but in a different capacity. Last Friday, she began her new gig as a co-host on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

Da Brat aka Shawntee Harris, replaced “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Claudia Jordan, who spent a year with the show but was let go earlier this month.  Reportedly, Claudia won't be returning to RHOA either (BRAVO has not made an official statement).

We sure hope Da Brat fares well in her new slot as it seems to be a revolving door. The gig was initially held down by radio vet Ebony Steele (for 7 years) until she was abruptly replaced by Claudia Jordan. Now Da Brat is next up at bat....

The new gig could provide the rapstress with a much needed fresh start. You might recall that she spent three years in prison after she struck a hostess with a rum bottle during a 2007 altercation at a nightclub. We hope this works out for her....

In other entertainment gigs... 

Actress and comedienne Sherri Shepherd (shown above with producers from "The View") has landed a new job.  Well....it's not actually a "new" job but certainly a fresh(er) start.  We've learned that she'll be returning to her old job at "The View" but in a different capacity.  While she held down the co-host chair for seven years (before departing over failed contract negotiations), she's set to resume that role....but as a recurring contributor. 

A well placed source at "The View" toldPEOPLE, "They're looking for a new way of doing things. Adding contributors to keep a constant flow of people that you're familiar with: that way there is consistency, but each of these women bring something different to the table."

We're told the ABC execs were impressed by Sherri's guest appearance last month and they hope bringing her back will rejuvenate the show's faltering rating.  A source told the Daily Mail, "Though the show was taped in advance and Whoopi Goldberg was out dealing with the death of her brother, everyone was blown away by how Sherri brought the energy of a live broadcast to the taped show. She had been so missed by the producers that many of them cried when she walked in the building."

For now, the plan is to have Sherri co-host at least twice a week when the show returns for season 19 this fall.  By the way, we reached out to Sherri's rep for a statement and got "No comment."

When it comes to new hairstyles, it’s normally the ladies coming with the new ‘dos. But today, we’re highlighting August Alsina and his new hair.

The R&B crooner took to his Instagram account to debut his style, which he has dubbed a “man bun.” He snapped the birthday pic above with the caption, “Rocking da fuxk out dis ManBun Dylan's mom & @knuckdaworld lady is responsible for this @1kyanne]”

WHEN did he get hair long enough for a bun? He barely there twists in his head at the BET Awardsa few weeks ago! Faux bun perhaps? Weave? Questions that need answers…..

When it comes to telling it how it is…these two YBF chicks certainly fit the bill. And now, the two powerhouses are gearing up for a joint tour!

K. Michelle and Azealia Banks have announced they will be co-headlining a joint tour together this fall, performing hits from their respective albums Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart& Broke With Expensive Taste. The ladies will travel across the U.S. on a 20-date theater tour set to kick-off in Indianapolis this September and end in L.A. in October, thanks to Centric & BET.

With both of their strong personalities, we can’t help but wonder if these two will be able to keep the peace. We'll keep our fingers crossed.
