Two weeks ago, engaged WNBA stars Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson were both in cuffs and snapping mugshots after a serious domestic altercation.  Yesterday, they were snapping their wedding pics at their Phoenix nuptials.

Well, that was quick.  It seems to be a trend amongst professional athletes to fight hard one day...to the point of it getting physical and leading to arrests...and get married the next.

Taking a page out of Ray & Janay Rice's book, Phoenix Mercury baller Brittney Griner and Tulsa Shock forward Glory Johnson (in a strapless champagne gown with a small train by Matthew Christopher) tied the knot just a few weeks after their physical altercation led to their arrests.  But everything appears to be all good now.

The twosome and their 75 wedding guests trekked it to a mountaintop in Phoenix on Friday to get hitched beneath an archway at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.

People magazine described the nuptials saying:

Bouquets and arrangements of white hydrangea, white and coral roses, and peach hypericum berries helped establish their theme of "desert elegance" in the city where Griner plays center for the three-time WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury.

After the ceremony, they celebrated with a sit-down dinner on the resort's Falls Terrace, followed by a tiered cake dessert that combined Griner's favorite, white cake, with Johnson's favorite, red velvet.

As for the domestic violence charges that were recently dismissed after Brittney accepted a plea deal to enroll in domestic violence counseling, with her new wife voluntarily entering as well, Brittney says this in a statement:

"It is never OK for an argument to turn physical.  This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously."

"I am committed to making positive changes and I plan to use what I have learned to set a good example and help make a difference in the world around me," she added.

Meanwhile, E! News reports The Carters are joining sister Solange Knowles in owning a home in the Crescent City. Bey & Jay reportedly just purchased a castle-like home in the heart of New Orleans for $2.6 million.

The beautiful 13,000+ sqft Spanish style mansion is in the Garden District of the city.  And if they decide to make it a party palace during Mardi Gras or Essence Fest....it will be nothing short of amazing.

Speaking of Jay, he's not slowing down on pushing his new TIDAL company.  He's announcing new ish every day it seems.

Prince's "Rally 4 Peace" concert in Baltimore tomorrow will be live streamed on TIDAL for free.  And Jay also announced an additional date for his B Side concert that will also be stream (for pay).  Now, the concert will go down both  May 16th and May 17th.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is definitely courting Ciara. After inviting her as his date to the White House State dinner last month and sending her well wishes via Twitter (he normally doesn't tweet that much), he is now popping up at her concert performances.

New mom Kelly Rowland is living motherhood in the fab lane.

The gorgeous singer gave birth to her precious baby boy Titan (with husband Tim Weatherspoon) in November 2014. And motherhood certainly looks good on the former Destiny’s Child member. Since Baby Titan’s arrival, Kelly took a little time to herself to bond with her son, but also, grieve the untimely death of her mother just a month after Titan was born.

Proving her strength, the “Motivation” singer is making her way back into the limelight. As you can see, she landed the April 2015 cover ESSENCE magazine, alongside her husband and their son.

Coming down the pipeline, the 34-year-old star will be starring on a new singing competition show coming to BET called “Chasing Destiny,” she’s possibly back in the studioworking on new music and, she has partnered up with Dreft to be the face of the baby detergent brand. She also stars in an adorable new commercial for Dreft WITH Titan. Check it HERE if you missed.

It looks like Kelly will be celebrating her Mother's Day with a little getaway. She jetted to Melbourne, Australia to kick off the celebration today. Nice!
  

Although new mom Ciara had to deal with a tough break-up with her ex-Future, she’s bouncing back like the fab mother she is. CiCi, 29, is currently on tour performing hits from her recently released JACKIE album and hard at work making press rounds. 

Baby Future, born just after Mother’s Day last year on May 19, 2014, makes his onscreen debut in his mom’s video for “I Got You,” a heartwarming ode to her baby boy. Check it HERE.

Other first time moms include, raptress Lil Kim, who gave birth to her daughter Royal (with Mr. Papers) in June 2014. Queen Bee threw a super luxe royal baby shower put together by celebrity wedding planner David Tutera. Her shower was featured on WETv's "David Tutera's CELEBrations."

Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana welcomed twin boys Cy and Bowie in November 2014 with husband Marco Perego.

Last month, the 36-year-old actress took to Facebook to share her struggle with shaking the baby weight, but vows to keep pushing. She wrote:

Hi everyone, As you all know, we welcomed twin boys last November. Yes, by far, the most amazing experience of my life, but also a very challenging experience when it pertains to my body. I'm sure moms across the world (and dads sometimes) can identify with what I'm about to say. Your body changes dramatically, inside and out. In some cases more than others, your body experiences a kind of trauma through childbirth that is difficult to explain unless you've had that experience. “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Yandy Smith Harris became a mom for the second time around after giving birth to her daughter Skylar Smith Harris in January 2015 with her now-fiancé Mendeecees. Baby Skylar joins big brother Omere Harris and Mendeecees Jr. Before her arrival, Yandy went all out, throwing lavish ballerina themed baby shower fit for a princess.

"R&B Divas: Atlanta" star KeKe Wyatt gave birth to her eighth child (the youngest few with her husband Michael Jamar) in March 2015, a daughter she named Ke'Yoshi Bella. She also threw a cutesy baby shower for her new bundle of joy, which caused a little negative backlash. But, KeKe was unbothered. She believes every child deserves a celebration and she wanted to acknowledge her new arrival...so she did.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Tameka "Tiny" Harris hosted her 2nd annual Mother Daughter Brunch & Pageant in Atlanta yesterday to celebrate all the moms in her life, including her own mom Diane Cottle-Pope, her husband T.I.’s mother Violeta Morgan, her friends “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss Tucker, and former “R&B Divas: Atlanta” stars Meelah Williams and LaTavia Roberson.

The mother-daughter duos enjoyed a 3-round pageant with a celebrity judge panel, southern style brunch, a delicious dessert bar, raffle prizes and vendor shopping at the gathering.

Tiny’s eldest child Zonnique Pullins, who kicked off her solo singing career a few months ago, was in attendance to support her mom.  Zonnique loves a loud dress doesn't she.  Gotta love her.

Tiny’s former Xscape band member Kandi Burruss Tucker brought her daughter Riley Burruss to the mother-daughter event.

Former 702 singer Meelah Williams and former Destiny’s Child singer LaTavia Roberson looked fab for the mother-daughter festivities. 

LaTavia and her daughter Lyric posed it up in their matching polka dot dresses. Too cute!

Lyric was all smiles with Auntie Tiny. She's so adorable.

Diddy stopped by "WWHL" last night where he discussed his views on marriage and revealed the financial aspects of his "love contract" with girlfriend Cassie.  Watch the highlights inside...

Sean "Diddy" Combs appeared on Bravo's "WWHL" last night where he promoted his 3AM fragrance and Ciroc vodka products.  He wore a Louis Vuitton jacket, a Sean John shirt, Sean John slacks and Hugo Boss shoes.

During a very revealing moment on the show, Diddy opened up about his views on marriage.  While he openly admitted that he's not ready to walk down the aisle (he prefers to do the "Goldie Hawn" thing), he told Andy that he has committed to a "love contract."

What's a love contract?  Although he never mentioned Cassie by name, Diddy explained,  

"I'm talking about where there's some money involved....if there's any problems. You have to have an agreement. You can't just love somebody and take 'em and ya'll just part...." 

Apparently the admission got "too deep" for Diddy so he asked Andy to change the subject. But before Andy switched topics, Diddy managed to add, "I'm a great boyfriend."  Watch the highlights here:

Prince hit the stage in Baltimore for the “Rally 4 Peace” concert honoring Freddie Gray over the weekend, and Beyonce, Jay Z and Alicia Keys were in attendance. Peep the pics inside…

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and for Freddie Gray’s mom, this was the first Mother’s Day she spent without her son. In honor of the 25-year-old’s life, Prince headlined a performance at the “Rally 4 Peace” concert (free for concertgoers) at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, which was live streamed on TIDAL.

The Purple One asked that everyone wear gray in remembrance of Freddie Gray, who lost his life from severe spinal injuries during an arrest last month. Following the turbulent uprising in Baltimore, Prince penned a protest song calling for justice and peace, which he titled “Baltimore.” He also debuted the track for the first time during his set.

Concertgoers say Prince gave a great speech about injustice and the flaws in our judicial system. He said, “The system is broken. It's up to you young folks to fix it." We also hear, while on stage, he said the next time he travels back to Baltimore he will be staying in a black owned hotel. Well alright.

During his performance, he brought out State's Attorney for Baltimore City Marilyn Mosby, who ruled Freddie's death a homicide and charged six Baltimore police officers in his death. Since her ruling, the officers' attorneys have collectively filed a motion to have Marilyn's office taken off the case. Hmm...

THIS JUST IN......Detroit Pistons baller Brandon Jennings has an heir to the throne.  But if you blink, you might miss the announcement.  Here it goes:

On Mother's Day, Brandon posted and QUICKLY deleted a picture of what we suspect is Tae Heckard's belly (based on the tattoos) with an announcement that Brandon Byron Jennings II is on the way. 

We did a little detective work and went over to Tae's Instagram page and noticed that this chick (who loves to take pics) hasn't posted a picture of her full body or anything below the neck for a minute.  Hmmm.  Most of her recent pics are #TBT photos or pics like this...

When did Tae become shy?

For some odd reason, Brandon and Tae are teasing us with this announcement, but we will offer them our "congrats" anyway.  And when the couple decides to make it official, we will be here for them. 

As a reminder, Tae and Brandon love to throw out hints about their relationship without ever offering confirmation.  A few months ago, Tae revealed that she was already married. 

Later on, we discovered that Tae was actually legally tied to a domestic partnership with her former lover, a woman named Monique Blanton. Sip that tea here.

FOX announced some major updates to its forthcoming tv season today: MORE "Empire" but NO MORE "American Idol".  Deets inside...

Attention #CookieMonsters....Taraji and Terrence's hit series EMPIRE has been supersized! Thanks to a record-breaking first season (check the receipts here) FOX has upped the show's initial Season 2 order of 12 episodes to a monster sized 18. The network plans to split its 18-episode second season into two different halves with Part 1 in the fall, ending with a cliffhanger, and Part 2 in the spring.

But wait....there's more! Grammy-winner crooner/producer/singer Ne-Yo has been booked to write music for Season 2, joining the series’ music producer Timbaland.

Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman, who spoke at the network's Upfront presentation on Monday morning, told the audience, "The stories we’ve heard already for season 2 will blow away the audience.”  Gary added that FOX has no plans to change Empire's timeslot....which is bad news for ABC's "Black-ish,"  which saw a ratings decline during the week's it competed against "Empire."

"Empire" will return Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET this fall.

In other FOX announcements...

The show that brought us Ruben Studdard, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino and countless other talents is coming to a close after its 15th season. Earlier today, FOX revealed that the LAST time "American Idol" will appear on its lineup is January 2016 (the show's 15th season).

Why would FOX cancel a show that's generated millions and create bonafide superstars? Well....insiders point to a huge decline  in ratings and the show's inability to produce superstars over the past few years. There haven't been any Kelly Clarksons or Carrie Underwoods lately. #noshade

The cancellation was "not an easy decision," said Fox Networks Group co-chief Gary Newman, but "we all felt collectively it was time to bring American Idol to an end." He added, the 15th season "will be a true season-long celebration" with "surprises we can have for fans."

A press release from FOX confirmed that Ryan Seacrest, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., will be on board for the final run. Season 14's two-night finale starts Tuesday, 9 p.m. ET/PT and Wednesday, 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Kanye West jetted from Venice Biennale to his hometown of Chicago to hit up the NBA playoffs Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the United Center.
  

As you know, Yeezy’s mom Donda West passed away due to complications from cosmetic surgery in November 2007. So to keep himself in good spirits, he trekked it back to the place he calls home. While backstage, Ye caught up with retired NBA baller Scottie Pippen where the NBA legend said, “Always good to see Mr. West in the house.”

Ye and Scottie then took their seats courtside where Scottie almost got a smile out of Ye, but it didn’t last long. Peep the funny gif below:

In a rare interview, Cissy Houston opens up about the life and death of Whitney Houston, provides a Bobbi Kristina update and throw a little shade at her ex-son-in-law Bobby Brown.  Watch the clip inside and get the deets on Stephanie Mills getting cast in NBC's live remake of The Wiz!

On Saturday, Cissy Houston sat down with ET'sKevin Frazier to provide an update on Bobbi Kristina and to share her feelings about her daughter's legacy and the impact she had on the lives of her fans. 

Bobbi Kristina, who remains hospitalized since she was discovered unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31, is no longer in a medically induced coma, but Cissy says her condition has not improved.

And there's an update with the estate - On Friday, Bobby Brown and Whitney's sister-in-law Pat Houston announced that they had been legally appointed as Krissi's co-guardians meaning,"Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs." 

Basically, this means that Bobby can't make decisions about his Bobbi Kris's health care on his own, and Pat and Cissy control the estate inherited by Bobbi Kris. So.....Bobby won't have access to any of Whitney/Bobbi Kristina's coins.

Cissy spoke about the "estate" change saying, "It came alright, It was fine," We're a family…that works together for the best. In musical announcements...

We've got an exciting update about NBC's upcoming live adaptation of the classic The Wiz. A few weeks ago, we told you about NBC's entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt's plan to turn the classic film/Broadway show into a live event and he's cast Stephanie Mills, Broadway's "original" Dorothy in the live extravaganza!

The legendary Ms. Mills, whose hits include "Home", "Something In The Way You Make Me Feel" and "I Feel Good All Over" portrayed Dorothy when the musical launched on Broadway in 1975, and now, she's set to play Auntie Em, as announced at the NBC Upfronts presentation. Meanwhile, the network is looking for “new talent” to play Dorothy.

The live production, which is partnered with Cirque du Soleil, will follow in the footsteps of NBC’s hugely successful 2013 hit A Sound of Music Live.  The Wiz Live! will air Dec. 3 on NBC.

A jewelry maker claims he got jumped by 50 Cent's crew and robbed of a $250K chain!  Get the deets inside and find out about George Zimmerman getting shot (fyi - he's alive).  More inside...

So....the fella above (Robert Marin, owner of LAX Jewelry, posing with Bishop Don Juan) claims member's of 50 Cent's crew jumped him during the Mayweather v Pacquiao fight weekend in Vegas, stealing a Rolex and neck chain worth $250,000 - and they pistol whipped him too...allegedly.  Mind you....he never implicates 50 Cent....but he does blame people associated with him. We'll explain...

Robert claims was in Vegas for the fight when he met 50 Cent at Drai's nightclub in The Cromwell hotel on Friday night, after his concert. He says they partied until Saturday morning before he was invited to see Floyd Mayweather's private gym ahead of the fight that night. He claims that once inside the gym, the entourage pistol whipped him in the back of the head and stole the watch and chain.

Scott Leemon, 50's lawyer told TMZ: 'On behalf of 50, I can adamantly deny that he or his security had anything to do with these baseless and false allegations.'  

We can tell you that Robert has filed a robbery report and Vegas cops are investigating.  Good luck with that.

THIS JUST IN....

Reports out of Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday, confirm that George Zimmerman, the man acquitted by a Florida jury in the death of Trayvon Martin, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and a shooting connected to a road rage incident. This time - he wasn't the shooter.

He has since been released from the hospital and details about the altercation, with alleged shooter Matthew Apperson, and trickling out.  Police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett said George suffered a minor gunshot wound and one witness, Ricardo Berrare, also said his injuries didn't look serious.

"He walked normally into the ambulance, so he wasn't being helped or nothing," Ricardo said.

According to reports in USA Today, Matthew and George have a history of disputes....three of them!  Last September, Matthew claimed George threatened to kill him, asking"Do you know who I am?" during a confrontation in their vehicles. Matthew said he decided not to pursue charges in that case.

Kenneth Cornell, an employee at a nearby business, told authorities he was exiting his car after lunch when a man drove up and started yelling "I shot George Zimmerman, call 911. I don't have a phone."

Police arrived minutes after he called 911, Kenneth added.  For now...police have not verified Cornell's account to CNN, and have not been able to determine how the altercation started of if charges will be filed. 

We will keep you updated but...yes...he is alive and well.

Two new music videos were released today. And they both feature Chris Brown. DJ Khaled released “How Many Times” featuring Breezy, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. Also, T.I. released the video treatment to his track “Private Show” also featuring Breezy. Peep the vids inside….

DJ Khaled returns with another star-studded video. And for his brand new track “How Many Times,” the Miami producer joins forces with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. In the video, Khaled does his little acting skit, which he is known to do in his videos. Then the fellas appear to be in a forest at night as they drop their rhymes and Breezy provides the melody. Ace Hood also makes a cameo.

Khaled is readying his eighth studio album titled, I Changed A Lot, which is expected to drop sometime this year. Following in the footsteps of Lil Wayne (and recently Bow Wow), DJ Khaled revealed he quietly chucked the deuces to Cash Money during an interview this morning with "The Breakfast Club." He said,

“I’m not signed to Cash Money at all. I’ve been off for a minute. It’s nothing that I’m here to promote that I’ve been off. I’m not that type of person.”

Hmm…we wonder if he was having some of the same issues as Weezy.

Today, rapper Cam’ron was overjoyed as he watched his longtime girlfriend JuJu trek across the stage to receive her college degree. Cam’s girl is a college graduate now! He happily captioned, “I'm mad proud of my baby!! On top of every other achievement u have accomplished.. U can now add.. College graduate!! Congrats babe.. #UrDaRealKilla #DaKillas"
 

Cam and JuJu (who met while she was working at the airport) landed inside V magazine’s 2014 Valentine’s Day issue. Inside, the twosome dished on how they keep they keep their relationship hot, in which they said:

How do you keep it alive?

Cam'ron: Well she’s not with me all the time. She goes to school and she works in Florida, too. So she hasn’t been to school or work in the last week or so because it’s my birthday. Sometimes it’ll go 6 or 7 days and then she’ll come back, but between work and school we basically only see each other 3 or 4 days out of the week.

Basically, like she said we were friends before we got to a relationship and we always had fun as friends and my thing has always been I sign up for fun. I don’t like relationships where you sitting in the house and this person in this room is mad and this person in that room is mad. You wake up. It lingers. I sign up for fun. If it ain’t fun I don’t want to be a part of it and she’s the same way. Who wants to be in a relationship where you have an attitude or you have to sit in your car for an hour before you go in the house. Like, I’m gonna find a reason to go to the store. No one wants to do that. And I told myself if I ever do get into a relationship again it has to be that type of scenario. I don’t want to be having an attitude or mad all the time.

So we think of different ways to do stuff. We have snowball fights in the house. Or I know she hates Styrofoam and rub it next to her ear.

JuJu: We have cook offs. Like, he thinks he can cook better than me.

Cam'ron: I taught her how to cook.

JuJu: Well he taught me, but I mastered it. So…

Monday morning FOX hosted its 2015 Programming Presentation at the Wollman Rink inside New York's Central Park.

Big screen star Meagan Good was on hand to promote her starring role in the crime drama "The Minority Report."

Meagan stars at the female detective - Lara Vega and will be joined by Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall.

Broadway and silver screen actree Keke Palmer touted her role as a cast members of “Scream Queens,” the upcoming comedy/horror anthology series from “American Horror Story” creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy.

She explained the premise of the show to the audience of tv execs by saying,

“‘Scream Queens’ is about these young girls living in college that are a part of a sorority, and then also some girls that are trying to become a part of the sorority, but that’s not the only thing it’s about,” Palmer told us. “There is also a murder that’s happening at the school at the same time and you are trying to figure out who did it. Is it your favorite character? Is it not? And you are also hoping that none of the people you love die.”

Scream Queens” will anchor Fox’s new Tuesday lineup at 9 p.m.

This fall, Morris Chestnut is set to star in the medical drama "Rosewood" which will air Wednesday nights at 8PM (right before "Empire"). Great time slot! Morris plays Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, - a gifted pathologist who finds the secrets in corpses that others usually miss. 

Terry Crews is on-board to host the unscripted comedy series World’s Funniest Fails, inspired by the best “epic fail” viral videos.          

Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. will lead season one of Season One of “American Crime Story,” the new anthology series that will cover the trial of former NFL star O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted in 1995 of murder. Cuba will play O.J.  He told the AP,

“People keep asking me whether I think he did it or not, and I don’t think that’s the goal here, to prove his innocence or his guilt. I think it’s more us putting the judicial system under the spotlight … We try to find a truth in the moment so that we can find answers. I think this 10 hours of television is gonna be very powerful, and I think a lot of people are going to learn a lot.”

John Travolta will portray Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer will portray Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson of “American Horror Story” fame will play Marcia Clark, and Courtney B. Vance will portray Johnnie Cochran.

Christina Milian is starring in "Grandfathered" with John Stamos and Josh Peck. John plays a bachelor whose life is turned upside down when he discovers he’s not only a father, but a grandfather.

And of course....

The stars and creator of FOX's crown jewel "Empire" were on hand to celebrate a recording-breaking year of success and news that the network has increased its initial order of 12 episodes to 18.  As we told you yesterday, the season will be split into 9 episodes for the fall and 9 for the spring.  Ta'Rhonda Jones, Grace Gealey, Jussie Smollett, Terrence Howard, Bryshere Y. Gray, Gabourey Sidibe, Taraji P. Henson, and Lee Daniels each took a victory walk across the stage.

And for the big finale....

Jussie, Jennifer Hudson, Trai Byers, Terrance, Bry'shere, and Taraji P. Henson hit the stage to perform.

Kanye West is now Dr. Kanye West! Yesterday, he received his Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts at The Art Institute of Chicago. Check out his speech and pics of Lil Jon speaking at the University of Oxford in England inside….

Dr. West is in the building! And we're sure he would have us all addressing him as such.

Kanye West, who titled his debut album The College Dropout, received his Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts at The Art Institute of Chicago. The Chi-town native was recognized for his transformative and genre-defining work across music, performance, film and fashion design. And he took the podium to deliver a speech before students and professors inside the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University.

Before starting his speech, he removed the bottles of water from the podium, walked off stage, came back and said, “I’m sorry, that’s just my opinion.” The audience found it amusing. He continued,

“I am a pop artist, so my medium is public opinion and the world is my canvas.”

He goes on to talk about former President George Bush and reveals how nervous he felt as he was being honored. He said,“George Bush has some very cool self portraits. I didn’t know he was an artist. I felt my nerves a bit and I don’t feel that feeling a lot. The nerves of humility and modesty when being honored. A humanization, a reality of being recognized. And all I thought as I sat here shaking a little bit it, I need to get rid of that feeling. I need to not be nervous.”
 

He then goes on to say how this degree will make his life and our lives easier. Oh? He explained,

“This honor is going to make your lives easier. Two reasons: You don’t have to defend me as much and I’m going to make all of our lives easier. And it’s these Floyd Mayweather belts that are needed to prove what I’ve been saying my entire life. Whether it’s the co-sign of Paul McCartney saying ‘It’s OK. He doesn’t bite white people.’ Or the New York Times cover, or the TIME Most Influential cover. And now, a doctorate at The Art Institute of Chicago.”

The "All Day" rapper believes if he had this degree sooner, it would have been easier for him to get his foot in the fashion world. He ended his speech saying,

“When I went on that mission to create in other spaces, apparel, film, performance. It would have been easier if I could have said I had a degree at The Art Institute of Chicago. Thank you.”

Following in the footsteps of Kanye, Lil Jon was tapped to speak to 150 students at the University of Oxford in England yesterday. 

The King of Crunk is no stranger to higher education. After high school, he studied at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia for two years. After that, he went on to perfect his craft as a DJ and eventually worked at Atlanta-based record label So So Def.

Following his speech he went on a campus-wide tour. He snapped the pic above with the caption, "dinner wit harry potter 'nem" Ha!

Kanye West and Nicki Minaj have been added to the list of performers to hit the stage this Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards going down at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Ye will close out the show for his first BBMA performance and he's expected to perform material from his upcoming album SWISH. Mariah Carey & Wiz Khalifa are also scheduled to perform. The 2015 Billboard Music Awards, co-hosted by Ludacris& Chrissy Teigen, will air Sunday, May 17th on ABC at 8 PM ET.

Beyonce and Jay Z are in NYC this week and we've spotted them having lunch, taking a meeting and leaving a music studio yesterday.  See the couple inside...

Beyonce and Jay Z lunched with her mom Tina Knowles Lawson and her husbandRichard yesterday. After lunch, they were seen leaving a music studio (atop) and later (below) they were spotted exiting an office building in NYC where they took a meeting. The Carters both wore jeans and statement making t-shirts. Jay's shirt said "Peace" in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, while Bey's shirt read "Never Forget To Say Thank You."  

Along the way, one fan gifted Bey with flowers and Jay signed a few autographs.

There has been tons of musical developments for the two. In addition to Hov's free ‘B-Sides’ concert in New York for Tidal users on May 16th and 17th at Terminal 5, Jay has also signed on to headline a benefit for Robinson Cano's RC22 Foundation at Seattle's Paramount Theatre June 3rd alongside Rihanna.

And a few weeks ago, we brought you some "inside" news about the power couple allegedly releasing a dual album in a few months.  While both camps have been mum about the cd, music vet DJ Skee says the album is nearly completed.

And here's a fun fact, Beyonce and Jay Z are fans of HBO's "Game of Thrones." 

It was recently revealed that “Thrones” actress Emilia Clarke told a Harper’s Bazaar reporter that Jay purchased Bey one of Khaleesi’s three dragon eggs. Wow...we guess they are super fans.

The “Empire” cast and creator were super busy in NYC yesterday. On top of attending the FOX Upfronts, Lee Daniels was honored at Family Equality Council's 2015 "Night At The Pier" event. Also, a few “Empire” cast mates along with Shonda Rhimes, Aja Naomi King, Samira Wiley and more hit up an afterparty. Peep the pics inside….

“Empire” creator Lee Daniels was the man of the hour as he was honored at Family Equality Council’s 10th annual Night at the Pier held at Pier 60 last night. The soiree was put together to recognize LGBTQ parents who are striving for family equality. And his "Empire" cast Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett and Ta'Rhonda Jones came out to support.

The Academy Award nominated filmmaker brought his partner Jahil Fisher and his son Liam Daniels (his biological nephew whom he adopted) along on the carpet. Lee also adopted Liam's sister Clara, so he is the proud parent of two children.

And what's a red carpet without snapping a few selfies with dad.

Before heading inside, he also posed it up alongside film producer Bruce Cohen, his son Liam, his current partner Jahil, casting director/Lee's former partner Billy Hopkins (the man he was with when he became a father) and his mother Clara Watson.

Inside....

Taraji and Jussie paid tribute and praised Lee for his extraordinary works over the past 15 years in the industry and being a positive role model in their lives. Jussie said,

“I now know what it means to have an amazing, gay father.” He added, “He's made me more of a truthful man.”

“Cookie” also spoke a few touching words about the writer/director saying,

“I want to thank you, Lee, for using your talent for changing lives and allowing people to be who they are," adding that the show “can be a voice for people who don't have a voice.”
 

Lee took the stage and brought up his son Liam, ex-partner Billy Hopkins (in the blue shirt), his mother Clara and his current partner Jahil (not pictured) up on stage with him. While giving his acceptance speech, he credits his children for keeping him sober and focused on his dream. He said,

"I was not saving them, they were saving me," Daniels said of adopting his incarcerated brother’s two kids, Clara and Liam, while still addicted to drugs. "Since then I've been sober."

 

Nice. Congrats Lee!

“How To Get Away With Murder” star Aja Naomi King came out to party it up at the Entertainment Weekly and PEOPLE celebration of The New York Upfronts at The Highline Hotel last night. If you havent's heard, the crime thriller series has been picked up for season 2.

Blac Chyna was all smiles last night as she celebrated her 27th birthday at Ace of Diamonds strip club in West Hollywood.

According to TMZ sources, the former stripper is gunning for primary physical custody of her 2-year-old son with rapper Tyga. She has lawyered up with a top divorce attorney, flied legal docs last week and she’s ready to go to war!

According to the report, Chyna does NOT want her son King Cairo around Tyga's alleged underaged girlfriend Kylie Jenner because she supposedly feels Kylie is too immature. On top of that, Chya also allegedly sees an issue with T-Raww dating a minor (she's 17) and feels his bad judgment can rollover to his parenting skills. While chatting with plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow about fixing a problem area under her arms, she revealed she’s a natural 36H bra size and would possibly like to go bigger to fill out some extra skin. She said,

“I wear a 36H natural. This area over here (points under her arm), it’s like skin, and I want to fill it out. But I don’t know if I want to get an implant because my boobs are kind of really nice.”
