Proud mom-of–four Kimora Lee Simmons welcomed her baby boy Wolfe Lee Leissner recently. And now she’s sharing the first sneak peek at her newborn baby boy during an intimate moment. We’ve beenfollowing her growingbaby bump and now, he’s finally here.

Baby Wolfe is Kimora’s fourth child, but first with her husband/Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner. Little Wolfe will be joining big brother Kenzo Hounsou, and big sisters Ming Lee& Aoki Lee.

In an Instagram post, the JustFab creative director shared a shot of baby Wolfe resting on her bosom. She revealed she endured a long birth, but it was well worth it. Loves it.

She said:

Actress/tv host/comedian Whoopi Goldberg was honored for using her starpower for worthy causes at Variety’s Power Of Women New York luncheon held at the luxe Cipriani 42nd Street today.

Inside, “The View” co-host posed it up alongside a framed portrait of her April 2015 cover where, in the cover story, she talks about her love and deep passion for ice-skating. The YBF actress' passion was so great, she found a way to be involved with the sport and help young girls, ages 6-18. She became an honorary chair of Figure Skating in Harlem, a nonprofit that helps young girls learn leadership skills and valuable life lessons through skating.

She told Variety, "Anytime someone is passionate about something, I feel like you have to encourage that.” Sweet.

Backstage, Whoopi caught up with Kanye West's wife Kim Kardashian West. She was honored as well for volunteering some of her time to the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.

Whoopi's "The View" co-hosts Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace came out to celebrate their co-worker and friend.

Speaking of SELMA, directress Ava DuVernay spoke at a United Nations event yesterday where she revealed the "Selma for students" initiative. As a part of the initiative, every high school in America receives a free copy of the Oscar-nominated civil rights film. A companion study guide will also accompany the free DVDs. Nice!

The Dear White People star also snapped it up with Senior Vice President and publisher of Variety Michelle Sobrino-Stearns and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Variety Claudia Eller.

After losing custody of his daughters, Damon Dash is firing off a lawsuit against his ex-wife Rachel Roy. Find out why and peep the cute shots of Thandie Newton and her son Booker inside....

Damon Dash has been on an #InvestInWomen hashtag frenzy on Instagram. But, it appears he’s tired of investing in his ex-wife Rachel Roy and is now suing her for millions!

If you haven’t been keeping up with their roller coaster custody battle, Dame recently lost custody of his daughters with Rachel, 15-year-old Ava and 6-year-old Tallulah. Apparently, there was a custody hearing and he was a no show. So, the judge awarded Rachel with full custody (where they once shared joint custody) AND a three-year restraining order was granted to keep Dame far away. Not only that, he now has to have supervised visitations with his children after Rachel accused him of being an unfit parent.

Now, just a few days after he lost custody, Dame is clapping back. And he’s suing for $2.5 million!

According to TMZ, Dame filed the paperwork on Thursday over alleged corporate crimes related to two fashion companies they started together, Royale Etenia LLC and Topson Downs. Dame accuses Rachel of breach of contract and getting in the way of him getting his money, which Dame says is rightfully his.

He also took to Instgram (per usual) to speak on how he feels about his ex-wife’s most recent legal move. He said:

“black•ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross was among one of the guests at Time and People’s annual cocktail party for the White House Correspondents' Weekend at St Regis Hotel in D.C. Looks like Tracee left T-Murda at home for the night’s festivities. Ha! She posed it up alongside Oprah’s bestie Gayle King.

Gayle also posed it up alongside her daughter/"Let's Move" staffer Kirby Bumpus. The mother-daughter duo looked amazing. 

“State of Affairs” actress Alfre Woodard looked gorgeous last night as she came out to party it up. In the NBC series “State of Affiars,” the 62-year-old actress stars as President Constance Payton, a female commander in chief. Loves it.

“TODAY” show and “News Nation” co-host Tamron Hall had a super busy night as she hit up multiple events. Tamron kept it classy in a strapless floral dress and sandals for the evening festivities.

She caught up with Tracee, who was recently revealed in PEOPLE's Most Beautiful issue, for a gorgeous shot.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook and his fiancée Nina Earl made it a date night in L.A. last night. Since the Thunder didn't make it to the playoffs this year, Russell has a little free time on his hands to wine and dine with his soon-to-be wife.

Although his team didn't make the playoffs, the eyewear designer still has something to celebrate. The NBA point guard holds the top spot as the NBA Scoring Leader for the 2014-2015 season, so we're sure the two had a few toasts to that. Congrats!

Drake flew into D.C. to cheer on his beloved Toronto Raptors in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the NBA playoffs against the Washington Wizards held at the Verizon Center.

LaLa Anthony and Lance Gross are busy on a movie set for a new film. We're not exactly sure of the official title, but it appears it may be called Deuces.

La and Lance also caught up with actor Andra Fuller while shooting a scene. No word on the release date, but we'll keep you posted.

Yes, you’re reading the headline right. Tyga has copped himself some new ink. And he decided to take things to another level, inking 17-year-old Kylie Jenner’s name on his arm! Peep the pics inside…

Although 25-year-old Tyga nor 17-year-old Kylie Jenner have officially confirmed their relationship (outside of a few Instagram posts alluding to a relationship), it appears things have gotten more “real” between the two.

A fan caught up with T-Raw in Paris yesterday. And upon looking at the “fan out” shots, we noticed a brand new tattoo on Tyga’s arm. If you look at his right forearm near his elbow, you see the letters “K Y L I E.” Yep, this dude has tatted his underaged "girlfriend's" name on him. For these two to be “just friends,” they certainly take the term to a whole new level.
 

And if you’re thinking maybe it was photoshopped, guess again. He shared the shot above on Friday, and if you look closely, you can see the top of the “Kylie” tattoo on his arm.

The timing of it all is quite interesting. These pics pop up just days after his baby mama Blac Chyna BLASTED him on Instagram, posting up a recent text conversation between him and her. In the texts, Tyga is begging Chyna to “be a family again” and that he wants her back. We believe she may have been clapping back at the "Ayo" rapper after he tweeted out, "Give it up. Get over it. Live your life." which he posted after Chyna threw major lip shade at Kylie.

And get this...sources close to Chyna say Tyga has been texting her like this for months! 7 months to be exact. TMZ claims Chyna didn't believe he was dating Kylie at first due to the fact she's still a minor AND that she and Tyga were both close to the Kardashian Klan. Welp, maybe now she's a believer after seeing this name tattoo.

"Saturday Night Live" comedian Cecily Strong took the podium as she was tapped to host the prestigious event.

The highlight of the night came when President Obama introduced a special guest. In walks in Luther his “anger translator.” He tapped Comedy Central’s “Key and Peele” comedian Keegan-Michael Key to help translate what Obama was REALLY thinking. And it was quite funny.

Below are the highlights from President Obama's speech:

On his “bucket list”:
Obama said he's asked, " 'Do you have a bucket list?' I say, well I have something that rhymes with bucket. Take executive action on immigration? Bucket. New climate regulations? Bucket. It's the right thing to do," Obama said, picking up on criticism of his executive actions.”

On his gray hair:
"I look so old John Boehner's already invited Netanyahu to speak at my funeral."
Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama looks great, he said. "I ask her her secret. She says, [Obama employing a nasally voice] 'Fresh fruits and vegetables.' It's aggravating."

On the Secret Service:
Obama said the agency, which has fumbled time and again in the last year, has come up with a "fool proof way to keep people off my lawn." The answer came in the form of a Photoshopped picture: Sen. John McCain with a broom and Vice President Joe Biden with a baseball bat.
 

Once his anger translator Luther hits the stage:

"Hold on to your lily white butts," Luther opened.
The Obama version: "In our fast changing world, traditions like the White House Correspondents' Dinner are important."
The anger translation: "I mean really what is this dinner?" he says jumping emphatically. "And why am I required to go to it? Jeb Bush, do you really want to do this?"
Obama talking about campaign fundraising: "Hillary will have to raise huge sums of money too."

"The Koch brothers think they need to spend a billion dollars to get folks to like one of these people," Obama said of the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates. "I raised a lot ... but my middle name is Hussein."

On Obamacare:

"Today thanks to Obamacare, you no longer have to worry about losing your insurance if you lose your job. You're welcome Senate Democrats," Obama said.

On a third Obama term:
Talking about how much he liked Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who could run for the Democratic nomination for president: "Apparently people really want to see a pot-smoking socialist in the White House. We could get a third Obama term after all."

It’s dangerous being a rapper these days. Lil Wayne would know. His tour bus was shot up in Atlanta early this morning. Get the latest deets and find out Bobby Brown’s latest move in his quest to protect his daughter Bobbi Kristina inside….

Following a hoax that shots rang out at his Miami mansion last month, Lil Wayne has found himself in the middle gunfire yet again.

Early this morning, one of Lil Wayne’s tour buses was reportedly shot at as they pulled off from an Atlanta nightclub.

According to local new station WSBTV, Atlanta police responded to a call of shots ringing out in the 3300 block of Peachtree Road around 3:25 AM this morning.

Once cops made it on the scene, they found one of Weezy’s tour buses had been hit with bullets multiple times. Wayne had just finished performing at Compound nightclub on his “Sorry 4 The Wait” release party tour.

TMZ sources say Lil Wayne, Young Money execs and artists (including Lil Twist and Hood) were on the buses at the time of the shooting. Luckily, no one was injured in the highway shooting incident, including Weezy. It’s unclear (as of now) if Wayne was aboard the bus that was shot at.

Witnesses tell WSBTV the shots came from two white vehicles, possibly a Corvette-style vehicle and an SUV. After the bus was hit, authorities say the bus stopped at a nearby hotel where the cops were called.

There are no suspects at this time. Wel'll keep you posted on any new developments.

Bobby Brown is making a bold move in his quest to protect his daughter Bobbi Kristina, who’s currently fighting for her life in an Atlanta hospital.

The legendary R&B crooner has filed for guardianship of Bobbi Kristina’s estate, according to NBC affiliate 11Alive. The 22-year-old daughter of late singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown has been in a medically induced coma since she was found submerged under water in a bath tub inside her Roswell home in January.

This news comes on the heels of the latest update on Bobbi Kirstina’s prognosis. Both the Houston and Brown family have revealed Bobbi Kris’ condition has improved, where she’s breathing on her own, but her quality of life is still up in the air.

We wonder what Cissy Houston has to say about Bobby gunning for guardianship. We’re sure we’ll find out sooner rather than later.

This year’s Radio Disney Music Awards went down at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. yesterday to celebrate some of entertainment’s brightest young stars. And Disney actress Zendaya was tapped to host the event, making her hosting debut.

The “K.C. Undercover” star kept it funky on the carpet rocking a black cropped top and black high-waisted trousers decorated with pops of color, serving up a 70s hippie vibe. During the awards ceremony, Zendaya had plenty of outfit changes as she hosted the family-friendly show.

In a recent interview with "GMA" she talked about being a "real" model versus a "role" model for her fans who look up to her. She said, "I don’t want to play a role or pretend to be something that I’m not, especially since young kids are watching. It just helps that I’m a good kid. I just want to continue to be that positive light or that positive influence for a lot of young people because sometimes I feel we lack that.” Loves it.

Yesterday, Willow and Jaden Smith stormed a stage to perform some of their musical offerings for the broccoli fanatics to help celebrate living healthier lifestyles. The Smith kids turned up with their mom on stage at the 2015 Broccoli City Festival held at the Gateway DC Pavilion in D.C.

BRAVO reality stars Kenya Moore and Daisy Lewellyn appeared on "WWHL" where they dished on the "RHOA" reunion and Daisy updated fans on her battle with Cancer.  Watch the clips inside... 

Last night, "RHOA" star Kenya Moore joined “Blood, Sweat and Heels” star Daisy Lewellyn in the "WWHL" Clubhouse with Andy Cohen.

Kenya twirled onto the set in a Dolce & Gabbana dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes.

On the show, Kenya and Andy dished on two shocking "RHOA" revelations.  First, Phaedra Parks revealed that she has not filed for divorce from Apollo Nida (contrary to earlier reports) and she has not taken the children to visit him.  Then, Porsha Williams shocked the ladies when she said her ex-husband Kordell Stewart was unfaithful.

After the RHOA recap, Daisy updated fans on her battle with Stage 3 Cancer.  She said she's done Chemo and has also completed radiation.

It appears Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are secretly talking and Khloe won't pull the trigger on the divorce.  In other news, Dave Chappelle totally bombed a show in Detroit and fans are demanding a refund. Get the juicy deets inside….

All Khloe Kardashian wants is a stable male figure in her life. And that seems to explain her current dealings with a few men in her life. First, let’s talk about her relationship with her estranged husband Lamar Odom.

There are reports (via TMZ) that Khloe is secretly talking to Lamar Odom. Sources tell TMZ that the two are not romantically involved, but they don't want to finalize their divorce either.

From what we gather, Lamar isn’t so eager to get back with Khloe because (according to sources) he feels betrayed by her. On the flip side, Khloe doesn’t want to move forward because she feels Lamar needs to make a grand romantic gesture to prove his love, but he’s not up for it. Womp. She still has feelings for him, even if she is spending much of her time with her boy toy French Montana.

You’ll recall, Khloe filed for divorce from Lamar back in December 2013. And the paperwork has been waiting to be finalized, but Khloe has been dragging her feet.  If she continues to drag it out, it’ll soon be dismissed from court. (Maybe that’s what she’s waiting for?)

Onto the second male figure in her life…Bruce Jenner.

As you may or may not have heard, Bruce sat down with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer for an explosive interview where he finally comes out to announce, “I’m a woman.” Yep, Bruce is living in his truth. Out of everyone in the the Kardashian Klan, you would think Khloe would be the most supportive because she seems to be the most accepting and open-minded. But, according to Bruce, she’s having the hardest time out of all of the children!

He offered some insight into why she’s taking it so hard saying, “She’s had a lot of losses in her life,” he said, citing the death of Khloe’s father and the breakup of her marriage [with Lamar]. “She feels likes there’s this massive… ‘my whole life is falling apart,’ you know, ‘it’s my dad,’ and I try to explain… but I’m not going anywhere. I’m still going to be there for you." He also said, surprisingly, Kim has been the most supportive.
 

Now it's starting to make sense why she can't just let go of Lamar. Do you think they will eventually reconcile?

In other news....

Dave Chappelle is on the comeback trail, but his performance in Detroit Thursday night left fans upset…and now they’re demanding a refund!

Here’s what went down….

TMZ reports Dave was scheduled to perform at the Fillmore in Detroit at 9:30pm. He hit the stage an hour late (due to the audience still being seated) and once he opened his mouth, fans could tell something was up. While on stage, he didn’t tell many jokes and was rambling with slurred speech. He basically sat on stage, smoked a cigarette and was just saying the first thing that popped into his head.

Unfortunately for the fans, a Fillmore spokesperson said they are not responsible for what an artist presents, therefore, they will not be receiving a refund. Damn. One of Dave’s reps released a statement to TMZ saying,"Out of the 50 shows on the tour, Thursday was definitely not his best set On the flip side, the incident inspired some additional sharp-witted material and (Friday) he came back with a vengeance."

Hmph. Let’s hope he doesn’t turn this into a new trend.

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held last night at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. The ceremony was hosted by supermodel and business mogul Tyra Banks.

While it was Tyra's first time hosting the show, it certainly wasn't her first time at the rodeo.  Tyra earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for her talk show "The Tyra Banks Show" a few years ago.

She kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening by cracking jokes and changing into four eye-catching outfits! 

During one lighthearted moment, Tyra brought out America's Next Top Model runway consultant J. Alexander to show the winners how to strut.

She even played a game of "Family Feud" with funnyman Steve Harvey.

It was a big night for Steve (shown above with wife Marjorie).

His nationally syndicated daytime show “Steve Harvey,” won its second consecutive award for Outstanding Talk Show/ Informative.

During his acceptance speech, Steve said, "God is good, all the time. This is for my producing team - you don't know who they are but they make the show what it is. Endemol Shine, NBC and Alex Duda our executive producer - this is yours. You deserve it. You work hard and you are the absolute best. Thank you very much."

Actress Karrueche Tran, rocking an antique white Chinyere cut-out maxi dress, was spotted at the ceremony.

If you're wondering how Karrueche got an invitation to the show, she's starring on the online soap opera "The Bay."

And guess what....

Karrueche and the cast of "The Bay" picked up a Daytime Emmy for OUTSTANDING NEW APPROACHES DRAMA SERIES!  She posed with co-star Kristos Andrews. 

We spotted Y&R star Angell Conwell on the red carpet. She and the cast of "The Young and the Restless" won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

Supermodel Chrissy Teigen walked the red carpet with her Oscar-winning hubby John Legend.

Less than a month after launching his new music streaming service, Jay Z is clapping back at rumors that TIDAL is a flop AND he’s responding to the haters who don’t want to see him (and his celeb friends) succeed.

Rumors have been circulating that TIDAL, the music streaming company Jay Z acquired for $56 million, is a failing company. But, Hov wants you to know that’s not true. On the heels of TIDAL’s CEO being removed and the firing of at least 25 employees, the Hip Hop entrepreneur, in so many words, says this is simply a changing of the guards so to speak.

Jay hopped on Twitter yesterday to drop some #TidalFacts and numbers, because you know, men lie, women lie, but numbers don’t lie. He says TIDAL is here to stay and since the company is brand new, it will take time before it becomes a huge player in the game.

Although TIDAL has only been in business a month, Hov says they have over 770,000 subscribers and that we can’t believe everything we read because there are big companies that spend millions on smear campaigns. We assume he means other companies are paying big bucks to try and bring him (and his celeb friends) down. Hmph.

We’ve watched Raven Symone guest host on “The View” multiple times since Rosie O’Donnell left the show. And now rumors have sparked that ABC is allegedly gunning to book Raven as a permanent co-host on the daytime talk show.

Sources tell PageSix, the network is desperately trying to ink a deal with the guest starring “Empire” actress. The source said, “She was interesting and provocative. Raven would be great as a regular host.” So, ABC wants to seal the deal before their upfront presentation in New York on May 12th. Guess we will have to wait and see if it happens….

Ludacris and Eudoxie celebrated the upcoming birth of their first child together with a Secret Garden themed baby shower with friends and family, including Monica, LeToya Luckett and Luda’s daughter Karma Bridges. Pics inside….

Ludacris and his wife Eudoxie hosted a fabulous Secret Garden-themed baby shower to celebrate their upcoming arrival. The venue was beautifully decorated with flower arrangements, a donut tree and plenty of delectable desserts.

This is Ludacris and Eudoxie’s first child together, but Luda’s third. The new bundle of joy will join big sisters, 13-year-old Karma Bridges and 1-year-old Cai Bella Bridges. The Bridges snapped a cute family shot all surrounded by candles.

And it appears Eudoxie and Karma have a great relationship.

A few celeb friends came out to celebrate the new baby, including singers Monica and LeToya Luckett. Eudoxie looked like a Greek goddess, rocking a white chiffon gown with a high slit topped off with a floral garland headband.

And the ladies came "spring ready" with their floral looks.

Sister Code opens May 8th, here's the synopsis:

Upon returning to the U.S from her club hosting gig tour in the UK, Amber Rose was greeted at the airport by rapper Machine Gun Kelly. According to TMZ sources, Machine Gun Kelly was feeling all over Amber's booty and the two were spotted holding hands as they exited from the airport. Peep those pics here.

Matt's parents (shown above) even booked retired NBA baller John Starks (above, far left)!  Wow....we can't wait to see what type of party they throw for his 16th birthday!  

Believe it or not, Nicki's performance wasn't all "T-n-A."  She had some words of wisdom for the young guests.  She told the kids, "Get an education, stay in school, and don’t be a slouch or a bum. And ladies, never let a man take care of you. Be your own woman, be your own person.”

Upcoming Fantastic Four and Creed actor Michael B. Jordan is a super busy man these days as he gears up for the release of his Marvel superhero film and shooting scenes for his Rocky spin-off. But, he made sure to make an appearance and get into the bowling action for TJ’s birthday.

The ladies of “The Real” had some fun on the job today. Each of the ladies’ husbands dropped in to take over today’s episode. Tamar Braxton’s husband Vince Herbert, Tamera Mowry Housley’s husband Adam Housley and Jeannie Mai’s husband Freddy Hareis grabbed a seat at the table to dish on their REAL thoughts about the show and to comment on the tea their wives spill about them on the show.

During their “confessions,” Vince revealed he feels that Tamar shares too much, Adam set the record straight that he does NOT wear socks with sandals and Freddy shared he learns a lot about himself while watching the show. Ha!

Next, the guys got candid about the moment they realized they were in love with their significant other.

Vince revealed he fell in love with Tamar one morning after a studio session, which ended with Vince giving Tamar a foot rub. Aww.

Adam said he fell in love with his wife and mother of his children after about 10 weeks of dating. He said he had a hard time letting his guard down at first because Tamera is an actress and he wasn’t sure if she was being genuine or “playing a role.”

Adam Housley: I’ve never dated an actress before so when I met Tamera, I was like okay she was real. She was genuine. I was like wait, what's going on here? So it took me a little longer to finally let that guard down…

Adrienne Bailon: Yeah

Adam Housley: [Continued]… So I think probably about maybe eight weeks or so, or ten weeks maybe.

Adrienne Bailon: Really, that quick?

Tamar Braxton: That long?

Adam Housley: Well, she was like right away.

Tamera Mowry: But to me, I wasn't dating anyone else...

Adam Housley: But I didn't know that.

Adam Housley: Yeah, I didn't know.

Adrienne Bailon: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: [Continued] … so I found out that he was dating another girl…

Adam Housley: But I told her. I went on one date. I told you I went on one date...

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Because I felt it Housley...

Aww! Now the happily married couple is expecting baby #2! And it's a girl.

After chatting it up at the round table, the fellas had a little fun with their wives playing the “You Bet Your Husband” game where the guys were quizzed on how well they know they wives, including bra sizes and what their wives wore on their first date.

Loretta Lynch was sworn in as the 83rd U.S. attorney general today. Watch the video inside...

It's official. Loretta Lynch is the 83rd U.S. attorney general. Vice President Joe Biden administered the oath of office to Attorney General Lynch at a Justice Department ceremony today, saying she was an "incredibly qualified" selection. And adding,"Ladies and gentlemen, it's about time — it's about time this woman is being sworn in."  We agree. During her acceptance, Attorney General Lynch told the audience,

"I am here to tell you, if a little girl from North Carolina who used to tell her grandfather in the fields to lift her up on the back of his mule, so she could see 'way up high, Granddaddy,' can become the chief law enforcement officer of the United States of America, then we can do anything,"

Amen!

Attorney General Lynch is the first black female to lead the Justice Department and her road to confirmation has been long an tedious. Although President Obama nominated her to replace Attorney General Eric Holder back in November 2014, her nomination wasn't cleared by the Senate Judiciary Committee until February. In fact, Attorney General Lynch waited longer than the seven most recent U.S. attorneys general combined for a vote on the Senate floor. But she got it! The Senate finally voted 56-43 to confirm Lynch.

Loretta father, Lorenzo A. Lynchtold reporters,

“The good guys won. That’s what has happened in this country all along. Even during slavery. Levi Coffin was a founder of the Underground Railroad. Even during slavery. A white man fought against slavery. So all over this land good folks have stood in the right lane, in the right path.”

In his official statement, President Obama praised Attorney General Lynch, saying the DOJ will be better off with her in charge.

“Loretta’s confirmation ensures that we are better positioned to keep our communities safe, keep our nation secure, and ensure that every American experiences justice under the law."

In the latest issue of UPTOWN, Queen Latifah dishes on her first nude scene, marriage equality and reveals what should would have asked Bill Cosby if she had the chance.  More inside...

Following the cancellation of her daytime talkie, The Queen Latifah Show, it's obvious that Oscar-nominated actress Queen Latifah is moving into a new phase of her career.  In "Queen Latifah's Next Move," for UPTOWN Magazine, she talks very candidly about the HBO film Bessie, a powerful biopic of blues singer Bessie Smith, and tackles some very serious subjects which have followed her throughout her career (e.g. sexuality).  

The wide-ranging article (read it in full here) also covers Queen Latifah's thoughts on homophobia in the Black community, marriage equality, and she reveals what she would have asked Bill Cosby regarding sexual assault allegations (if he hadn't canceled his interview with her).  It's very interesting....

Here are the highlights:

On her nude scene in HBO's Bessie:“I’ve never done that before. It was a little odd but it was also a quiet, relaxing thing. Sometimes she was so alone, and it was a moment for Bessie to acknowledge her vulnerability, which I can completely relate to ... I don’t find [this nude scene] any more uncomfortable than kissing a girl in Set It Off and sticking to the script. You have to take your mind off of yourself and honor that character. Respect Cleo, respect Bessie."

On marriage equality:"Who you choose to marry is really up to you and it’s not something you should be judged on. I don’t find being gay or lesbian to be a character flaw. Couples should be protected under the laws of this country period. It actually angers me."

On her talk show, The Queen Latifah Show, being canceled:"Obviously it was disappointing but I don’t look at these things as catastrophic failures. We have a lot going on in our company alone, so I’m not worried about my next job opportunity."

On Bill Cosby amid the rape allegations:"It’s unfortunate because he has done so much in terms of entertainment, culture and black folks. But right is right and wrong is wrong. All these women, all these stories, it’s just – what a big stain on such an amazing career."

On homosexuality:"People’s ideas in general are antiquated when it comes to who you love. We haven’t moved as quickly as we probably should. And the reality is that there’s always been gay people in the black community, so it’s not foreign to us. And not just as a black community but just a society as a whole."

Bessie, starring Queen Latifah, Michael Kenneth Williams and Mo’Nique, premieres on HBO on May 16th.
