Boris Kodjoe celebrated the 10th birthday of his daughter Sophie Tei Naaki Lee Kodjoe with an open letter praising her strength and courage and revealing what she's taught him about love and faith. Read it inside...

This week, actor Boris Kodjoe (shown above at LAX yesterday where he's headed to movie shoot in Africa) and his wife Nicole Ari Parker celebrated the birthday of their daughter Sophie Tei Naaki Lee Kodjoe, who just turned 10-years old.

You'll recall that Sophie lives with spina bifida, a neural birth defect that can cause leg, bladder and bowel damage. Boris opened up about the disease and Sophie's struggles during a previous interview saying,

"We were blessed with a miracle child and spared of the more severe symptoms, but Sophie’s spastic bladder still forces us to catheterize her every three hours, day and night, to avoid pressure build up in her bladder and urine backflow into her kidneys. ,"

On Facebook, the Addicted star penned an open letter praising Sophie for her battle, highlighting her strength and courage.

To My Little Heart.
The day I met your mother I knew I was ready to be a man. The day I met you I became one. You've shown me what true strength and courage is and you taught me that the love of faith and the faith in love is one and the same.
I'm in awe of your ability to defy the odds and I marvel at the confidence with which you produce miracle after miracle. You smile your way through life and your light touches everyone around you.

I'm proud of you because you are your mother's daughter, I'm proud of you because you are
Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe.

Happy 10th Birthday my little heart. I love you more than you will ever believe.

Daddy
‪#‎ThankYouGodForMyAngel‬

On Twitter, Nicole tweeted a birthday photo (atop) with the entire family, including little brother Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe, wishing Sophie a happy birthday. And TheYBF.com would like to wish brave little Sophie a Happy Birthday as well!

Today, Kanye & Kim left their Paris hotel to head to lunch at L'Avenue and get ready for more shows, we're sure.  Kim in another fur and Kanye in the exact outfit he had on yesterday.  After lunch, Kim was spotted leaving a beauty salon with even whiter locks (not pictured here).

Last night, the twosome made their way to the Balenciaga show in these looks:

Adrienne Bailon reunites with former Cheetah Girls co-star Raven Symone on an upcoming episode of "The Real".  Watch the clip inside and see the pics Christina Milian posted of herself in her man's undies!

On Monday's episode of "The Real", newly engaged co-host Adrienne Bailon had a fun reunion with former Cheetah Girls member Raven Symone. Raven, who's currently starring on "Empire", dropped in on Adrienne and the other hosts to dish on the hit series and drop a flashback dance move.

In the clip above, Raven does a "throwback" dance move from their Cheetah Girl movies (The Cheetah Girls, The Cheetah Girls 2).  She joked that they (meaning former Cheetah Girls Kiely Williams and Sabrina Bryan) all thought they were Janet Jackson back in the day.  "Oh my god," Adrienne  screamed before getting up and doing it too, "Why did I think this was a hot move?!"

Raven's appearance on "The Real" airs Monday....

On social media...

 photo image5cm7.png

Christina Milan went on a "virtual" date with her Bae (Weezy) and invited her fans along.  Via Snapchat, CM posted a series of pics which began very G-rated before going all PG-13.

 photo image4cjjub.png

A virtual date with Christina begins with a few kisses and puckers for the Vine/Snap Chat followers.

 photo image1cmefget.png

Then she looked into the camera with her smoldering eyes and talked about missing her man (whom she didn't name).  All the while...we're wondering if Wayne's alleged fiance Dhea was watching this too???

 photo image3cmmiii.png

Next - the top came up and the pants were pulled down.

 photo image2cmk.png

Her caption referred to wearing a man's boxers.  Wayne's underwear?  Ew.

 photo image6cm.png

Before logging off, CM did answer the question.... with a smirk.   Maybe the social media antics are meant to raise awareness about her Rebel single, which dropped a few days ago.  This chick and her social media games...

Kanye West is in Paris where he premiered the video for "All Day", took in the Celine show and kicked off the first in a series of charity concerts for 'Fondation (Foundation) Louis Vuitton'. See performance clips inside...

Over on our fabulous Instagram page, we spotted Kanye leaving the #Celine show in #Paris today.   It looks like time springing forward did very little to slow down his fashion hustle.  We imagine he must be a little tired after the evening he had.

About last night...

 photo 01-deborah-enkaoua-deborahenkaoua.jpg

Kanye West treated fans to a concert last night that was first in a series of performances to run between now and the end of Paris Fashion Week for Fondation Louis Vuitton.

Kanye is taking over The Frank Gehry-designed building until Tuesday, March 10th where he'll hold exclusive concerts nightly in the auditorium, accompanied by a film directed by Steve McQueen and an exhibition of photos by Jackie Nickerson. All proceeds supporting a yet-to-be-named charity.

Speaking of Steve McQueen, the 12 Years A Slave director helmed Kanye's "All Day" video and premiered it before 'Ye took the stage. While the full clip is not available stateside, we've grabbed a few shots.

Amber Rose posted a racy selfie on Instagram where she took internet trolls to task for attempting to "slut shame" her saying, "U Guys Love Slut Shaming Huh? Good. I feed off that shit. #HowtobeAbadBitch "

FYI - At this point, Amber's pics aren't just for sport...there's a purpose.  She's got a new book coming out"How To Be A Bad Bitch" and this is all PROMO, we're sure.  Also, the pics are a way of reclaiming her power after Kanye West (who claims he had to take 30 showers to cleanse himself of her) and ex-husband Wiz Khalifa (who slams her as a whore in "For Everybody") have each branded her with a scarlet letter.

Hmph....it's interesting that she's "slammed" for the same antics that once made her so attractive to those men, and that these men participate in themselves.....

WTF: Nick Gordon Was ALLEGEDLY High And Drunk During INTERVENTION, Screamed "I Hate Bobby Brown" + Bobbi Kris' Aunt Makes Shocking 'Attempted Murder' Accusations

$

 photo nickrf33r3f.png

Nick Gordon was a hot mess during his Dr. Phil interview - which we've now learned was an intervention!  Watch the clip inside and read a shocking Facebook post from Bobbi Kristina's aunt who claims Nick is being investigated for attempted murder!

We've got a few updates regarding Nick Gordon.  Grab your cup. Sip Slowly....

A few days ago we brought you news about an upcoming tell-all interview with Nick Gordon and his birth-mom Michelle on the Dr. Phil show. While we were initially under the impression that Nick sat down to talk about Bobbi Kris, we've learned the interview was much more than that.  In fact, let's call it an intervention because that's what it turned out to be.  While Nick thought he was meeting Dr. Phil to discuss Bobbi Kristina, the sit-down was really a front to get him into rehab (all set up by his biological mom).

According to TMZ, Nick was drunk and high during the segment and could barely form sentences. Alcohol and Xanax are his crutches (allegedly).  He even (allegedly) punched two of Dr. Phil's staffers as he stormed out of the interview.

While he did make it to rehab eventually, the messy interview featured tons of tears over Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kris ("I miss them") and a moment where Nick screams "I hate Bobby Brown!"

What did Nick reveal about Bobbi Kris and the tragedy?  Sources say Nick's lawyer would not allow him to talk about anything connected with the events that led up to Bobbi Kristina's tragedy, so we'll still be in the dark about that. Unless you believe what Aunt Leolah had to say (see below).

Nick's "Dr. Phil" episode airs on Wednesday...

In other shocking news...

 photo 266DE03E00000578-2984730-image-a-12_1425785827433_1.jpg

We've all got an Aunt Leolah.  She's in everybody's business and is not afraid to speak her mind.

When Auntie LeLe heard Nick was going to be on Dr. Phil, we're sure she screamed.  Mainly, she was pissed that she wasn't booked for the interview (don't forget she's allegedly filming a reality show and IS NOT camera shy).  Saturday night, she got on Facebook and blasted Dr. Phil for giving Nick a platform to garner sympathy.

"We have strong evidence of foul play. Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that you or anyone else not provide this individual a platform to spin this situation to his benefit."

Hmph.

She went on to say that Nick is under investigation for the attempted murder of Bobbi Kristina. "If Nick Gordon does not have the courage to speak with my brother Bobby Brown and/or law enforcement about what happened the day my niece's body was found in a bathtub, he does not deserve to have a platform to speak to anyone of your caliber until this investigation is concluded."

Now...we haven't heard about "attempted murder" from the Roswell Police Department (we're just telling you want Aunt Leolah said).

BABY MOMMA DRAMA: Inside Nia Guzman Amey's "Royalty" Baby Shower + Nia's Ex-Husband Terry Avery THREATENS Chris Brown

Gucci Boots and Converse were a few of the gifts Nia Guzman Amey received during her baby shower for Chris Brown's little heiress Royalty.  See pics inside and get deets on the threat Nia's ex-husband made - if Chris ever gets out of line!

Click, flash!  Nia Guzman Amey doesn't understand the concept of being of low-key.  A few days ago we learned about the existence of her 9-month old daughter with alleged father Chris Brown, and today, we've got pics from last year's baby shower!  Is Nia walking us through her "celebrity" pregnancy, though the steps are out of order?

You'll recall that Nia was allegedly initially given a large amount of hush moneychild support until Chris could make a formal announcement about Royalty, but that all went out of the window once someone (likely Nia) leaked news about Royalty.

 photo nia-guzman-amey-baby-shower-tmz-wm-10-480w.jpg

In the meantime, pics from Nia's baby shower (held in Houston in 2014) have "leaked" too.  Nia was feted by about 40 friends who gifted her with baby Gucci boots, a pair of baby Converse and other mommy essentials. There was also a crown-topped cake and a diaper changing contest. See more photos here

TMZ also reports that a man named Brazil, who "believed" he was the father, was also at the party.  As well as ex-husband Terry Avery.

In other developments.....

Nia's ex-husband Terry called up the media last week (why not?) and gave them an earful.  He says he and Nia were married from 2003 - 2014 and they have a 13-year-old daughter together. They separated (and eventually divorced) when Nia got pregnant because he KNEW it wasn't his kid (shoutout to Mr. Brazil). But he had NO IDEA the baby was fathered by Chris Brown.

Now that he's armed with this information, he has a word for Chris - watch your temper! While his exact threa didn't get printed, he allegedly said that if Chris blows his lid around Nia or their older daughter, he'll have to answer to him.T

We'll keep you posted on Nia's next round of pics.....we're sure something is on the way.

STILL OVERCOMING: The Obamas & More Commemorate The 50th Anniversary Of "Bloody Sunday" In Selma

President Obama and the First Family arrived into Selma, Alabama yesterday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, the day where civil rights activists, who were everyday citizens, braved the KKK and police forces in one of their first civil rights marches.  We've got the President's remarks from the Edmund Pettus Bridge, powerful pics, our gorgeous First Daughters and more inside....

With his shirt sleeves rolled up and no jacket,President Barack Obama led across the Edmund Pettus Bridge yesterday a group that included the First Family along with Marian Robinson, former President Bush (43) former First Lady Laura Bush, some of the original foot soldiers from 1965, faith leaders, and a handful of elected officials.

As they began their commemorative march to mark that horrific day in March 1965 where citizens attempted to march from Selma to Montgomery to protest the push back of desegregation laws and to demand equal voting rights, the group of more than 50 plodded slowly along the asphalt arm-in-arm.  They all sang "Keep your eyes on the prize as the President and First Lady Michelle joined in the singing.

Reporters state President Bush looked across at Obama and joked:"Tell him he's walking too fast."

Around half way the group stopped to listen to Congressman John Lewis' recount the events of March 7 1965.  The group also prayed on stage before Obama's remarks, and it all made for some powerful imagery:

Before taking the podium, President Obama as heard telling the group on bridge to "keep us in your prayers".

You can read and watch Obama's entire moving speech below, plus check out the gallery of over 20 pics below:

AUDIENCE MEMBER: We love you, President Obama!

THE PRESIDENT: Well, you know I love you back. (Applause.)

It is a rare honor in this life to follow one of your heroes. And John Lewis is one of my heroes.

Now, I have to imagine that when a younger John Lewis woke up that morning 50 years ago and made his way to Brown Chapel, heroics were not on his mind. A day like this was not on his mind. Young folks with bedrolls and backpacks were milling about. Veterans of the movement trained newcomers in the tactics of non-violence; the right way to protect yourself when attacked. A doctor described what tear gas does to the body, while marchers scribbled down instructions for contacting their loved ones. The air was thick with doubt, anticipation and fear. And they comforted themselves with the final verse of the final hymn they sung:

“No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you;

Lean, weary one, upon His breast, God will take care of you.”

And then, his knapsack stocked with an apple, a toothbrush, and a book on government -- all you need for a night behind bars -- John Lewis led them out of the church on a mission to change America.

President and Mrs. Bush, Governor Bentley, Mayor Evans, Sewell, Reverend Strong, members of Congress, elected officials, foot soldiers, friends, fellow Americans:

As John noted, there are places and moments in America where this nation’s destiny has been decided. Many are sites of war -- Concord and Lexington, Appomattox, Gettysburg. Others are sites that symbolize the daring of America’s character -- Independence Hall and Seneca Falls, Kitty Hawk and Cape Canaveral.

Selma is such a place. In one afternoon 50 years ago, so much of our turbulent history -- the stain of slavery and anguish of civil war; the yoke of segregation and tyranny of Jim Crow; the death of four little girls in Birmingham; and the dream of a Baptist preacher -- all that history met on this bridge.

It was not a clash of armies, but a clash of wills; a contest to determine the true meaning of America. And because of men and women like John Lewis, Joseph Lowery, Hosea Williams, Amelia Boynton, Diane Nash, Ralph Abernathy, C.T. Vivian, Andrew Young, Fred Shuttlesworth, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and so many others, the idea of a just America and a fair America, an inclusive America, and a generous America -- that idea ultimately triumphed.

As is true across the landscape of American history, we cannot examine this moment in isolation. The march on Selma was part of a broader campaign that spanned generations; the leaders that day part of a long line of heroes.

We gather here to celebrate them. We gather here to honor the courage of ordinary Americans willing to endure billy clubs and the chastening rod; tear gas and the trampling hoof; men and women who despite the gush of blood and splintered bone would stay true to their North Star and keep marching towards justice.

They did as Scripture instructed: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” And in the days to come, they went back again and again. When the trumpet call sounded for more to join, the people came –- black and white, young and old, Christian and Jew, waving the American flag and singing the same anthems full of faith and hope. A white newsman, Bill Plante, who covered the marches then and who is with us here today, quipped that the growing number of white people lowered the quality of the singing. (Laughter.) To those who marched, though, those old gospel songs must have never sounded so sweet.

In time, their chorus would well up and reach President Johnson. And he would send them protection, and speak to the nation, echoing their call for America and the world to hear: “We shall overcome.” (Applause.) What enormous faith these men and women had. Faith in God, but also faith in America.

The Americans who crossed this bridge, they were not physically imposing. But they gave courage to millions. They held no elected office. But they led a nation. They marched as Americans who had endured hundreds of years of brutal violence, countless daily indignities –- but they didn’t seek special treatment, just the equal treatment promised to them almost a century before. (Applause.)

What they did here will reverberate through the ages. Not because the change they won was preordained; not because their victory was complete; but because they proved that nonviolent change is possible, that love and hope can conquer hate.

As we commemorate their achievement, we are well-served to remember that at the time of the marches, many in power condemned rather than praised them. Back then, they were called Communists, or half-breeds, or outside agitators, sexual and moral degenerates, and worse –- they were called everything but the name their parents gave them. Their faith was questioned. Their lives were threatened. Their patriotism challenged.

And yet, what could be more American than what happened in this place? (Applause.) What could more profoundly vindicate the idea of America than plain and humble people –- unsung, the downtrodden, the dreamers not of high station, not born to wealth or privilege, not of one religious tradition but many, coming together to shape their country’s course?

What greater expression of faith in the American experiment than this, what greater form of patriotism is there than the belief that America is not yet finished, that we are strong enough to be self-critical, that each successive generation can look upon our imperfections and decide that it is in our power to remake this nation to more closely align with our highest ideals? (Applause.)

That’s why Selma is not some outlier in the American experience. That’s why it’s not a museum or a static monument to behold from a distance. It is instead the manifestation of a creed written into our founding documents: “We the People…in order to form a more perfect union.” “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” (Applause.)

These are not just words. They’re a living thing, a call to action, a roadmap for citizenship and an insistence in the capacity of free men and women to shape our own destiny. For founders like Franklin and Jefferson, for leaders like Lincoln and FDR, the success of our experiment in self-government rested on engaging all of our citizens in this work. And that’s what we celebrate here in Selma. That’s what this movement was all about, one leg in our long journey toward freedom. (Applause.)

The American instinct that led these young men and women to pick up the torch and cross this bridge, that’s the same instinct that moved patriots to choose revolution over tyranny. It’s the same instinct that drew immigrants from across oceans and the Rio Grande; the same instinct that led women to reach for the ballot, workers to organize against an unjust status quo; the same instinct that led us to plant a flag at Iwo Jima and on the surface of the Moon. (Applause.)

It’s the idea held by generations of citizens who believed that America is a constant work in progress; who believed that loving this country requires more than singing its praises or avoiding uncomfortable truths. It requires the occasional disruption, the willingness to speak out for what is right, to shake up the status quo. That’s America. (Applause.)

That’s what makes us unique. That’s what cements our reputation as a beacon of opportunity. Young people behind the Iron Curtain would see Selma and eventually tear down that wall. Young people in Soweto would hear Bobby Kennedy talk about ripples of hope and eventually banish the scourge of apartheid. Young people in Burma went to prison rather than submit to military rule. They saw what John Lewis had done. From the streets of Tunis to the Maidan in Ukraine, this generation of young people can draw strength from this place, where the powerless could change the world’s greatest power and push their leaders to expand the boundaries of freedom.

They saw that idea made real right here in Selma, Alabama. They saw that idea manifest itself here in America.

Because of campaigns like this, a Voting Rights Act was passed. Political and economic and social barriers came down. And the change these men and women wrought is visible here today in the presence of African Americans who run boardrooms, who sit on the bench, who serve in elected office from small towns to big cities; from the Congressional Black Caucus all the way to the Oval Office. (Applause.)

Because of what they did, the doors of opportunity swung open not just for black folks, but for every American. Women marched through those doors. Latinos marched through those doors. Asian Americans, gay Americans, Americans with disabilities -- they all came through those doors. (Applause.) Their endeavors gave the entire South the chance to rise again, not by reasserting the past, but by transcending the past.

What a glorious thing, Dr. King might say. And what a solemn debt we owe. Which leads us to ask, just how might we repay that debt?

First and foremost, we have to recognize that one day’s commemoration, no matter how special, is not enough. If Selma taught us anything, it’s that our work is never done. (Applause.) The American experiment in self-government gives work and purpose to each generation.

Selma teaches us, as well, that action requires that we shed our cynicism. For when it comes to the pursuit of justice, we can afford neither complacency nor despair.

Just this week, I was asked whether I thought the Department of Justice’s Ferguson report shows that, with respect to race, little has changed in this country. And I understood the question; the report’s narrative was sadly familiar. It evoked the kind of abuse and disregard for citizens that spawned the Civil Rights Movement. But I rejected the notion that nothing’s changed. What happened in Ferguson may not be unique, but it’s no longer endemic. It’s no longer sanctioned by law or by custom. And before the Civil Rights Movement, it most surely was. (Applause.)

We do a disservice to the cause of justice by intimating that bias and discrimination are immutable, that racial division is inherent to America. If you think nothing’s changed in the past 50 years, ask somebody who lived through the Selma or Chicago or Los Angeles of the 1950s. Ask the female CEO who once might have been assigned to the secretarial pool if nothing’s changed. Ask your gay friend if it’s easier to be out and proud in America now than it was thirty years ago. To deny this progress, this hard-won progress -– our progress –- would be to rob us of our own agency, our own capacity, our responsibility to do what we can to make America better.

Of course, a more common mistake is to suggest that Ferguson is an isolated incident; that racism is banished; that the work that drew men and women to Selma is now complete, and that whatever racial tensions remain are a consequence of those seeking to play the “race card” for their own purposes. We don’t need the Ferguson report to know that’s not true. We just need to open our eyes, and our ears, and our hearts to know that this nation’s racial history still casts its long shadow upon us.

We know the march is not yet over. We know the race is not yet won. We know that reaching that blessed destination where we are judged, all of us, by the content of our character requires admitting as much, facing up to the truth. “We are capable of bearing a great burden,” James Baldwin once wrote, “once we discover that the burden is reality and arrive where reality is.”

There’s nothing America can’t handle if we actually look squarely at the problem. And this is work for all Americans, not just some. Not just whites. Not just blacks. If we want to honor the courage of those who marched that day, then all of us are called to possess their moral imagination. All of us will need to feel as they did the fierce urgency of now. All of us need to recognize as they did that change depends on our actions, on our attitudes, the things we teach our children. And if we make such an effort, no matter how hard it may sometimes seem, laws can be passed, and consciences can be stirred, and consensus can be built. (Applause.)

With such an effort, we can make sure our criminal justice system serves all and not just some. Together, we can raise the level of mutual trust that policing is built on –- the idea that police officers are members of the community they risk their lives to protect, and citizens in Ferguson and New York and Cleveland, they just want the same thing young people here marched for 50 years ago -– the protection of the law. (Applause.) Together, we can address unfair sentencing and overcrowded prisons, and the stunted circumstances that rob too many boys of the chance to become men, and rob the nation of too many men who could be good dads, and good workers, and good neighbors. (Applause.)

With effort, we can roll back poverty and the roadblocks to opportunity. Americans don’t accept a free ride for anybody, nor do we believe in equality of outcomes. But we do expect equal opportunity. And if we really mean it, if we’re not just giving lip service to it, but if we really mean it and are willing to sacrifice for it, then, yes, we can make sure every child gets an education suitable to this new century, one that expands imaginations and lifts sights and gives those children the skills they need. We can make sure every person willing to work has the dignity of a job, and a fair wage, and a real voice, and sturdier rungs on that ladder into the middle class.

And with effort, we can protect the foundation stone of our democracy for which so many marched across this bridge –- and that is the right to vote. (Applause.) Right now, in 2015, 50 years after Selma, there are laws across this country designed to make it harder for people to vote. As we speak, more of such laws are being proposed. Meanwhile, the Voting Rights Act, the culmination of so much blood, so much sweat and tears, the product of so much sacrifice in the face of wanton violence, the Voting Rights Act stands weakened, its future subject to political rancor.

How can that be? The Voting Rights Act was one of the crowning achievements of our democracy, the result of Republican and Democratic efforts. (Applause.) President Reagan signed its renewal when he was in office. President George W. Bush signed its renewal when he was in office. (Applause.) One hundred members of Congress have come here today to honor people who were willing to die for the right to protect it. If we want to honor this day, let that hundred go back to Washington and gather four hundred more, and together, pledge to make it their mission to restore that law this year. That’s how we honor those on this bridge. (Applause.)

Of course, our democracy is not the task of Congress alone, or the courts alone, or even the President alone. If every new voter-suppression law was struck down today, we would still have, here in America, one of the lowest voting rates among free peoples. Fifty years ago, registering to vote here in Selma and much of the South meant guessing the number of jellybeans in a jar, the number of bubbles on a bar of soap. It meant risking your dignity, and sometimes, your life.

What’s our excuse today for not voting? How do we so casually discard the right for which so many fought? (Applause.) How do we so fully give away our power, our voice, in shaping America’s future? Why are we pointing to somebody else when we could take the time just to go to the polling places? (Applause.) We give away our power.

Fellow marchers, so much has changed in 50 years. We have endured war and we’ve fashioned peace. We’ve seen technological wonders that touch every aspect of our lives. We take for granted conveniences that our parents could have scarcely imagined. But what has not changed is the imperative of citizenship; that willingness of a 26-year-old deacon, or a Unitarian minister, or a young mother of five to decide they loved this country so much that they’d risk everything to realize its promise.

That’s what it means to love America. That’s what it means to believe in America. That’s what it means when we say America is exceptional.

For we were born of change. We broke the old aristocracies, declaring ourselves entitled not by bloodline, but endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights. We secure our rights and responsibilities through a system of self-government, of and by and for the people. That’s why we argue and fight with so much passion and conviction -- because we know our efforts matter. We know America is what we make of it.

Look at our history. We are Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea, pioneers who braved the unfamiliar, followed by a stampede of farmers and miners, and entrepreneurs and hucksters. That’s our spirit. That’s who we are.

We are Sojourner Truth and Fannie Lou Hamer, women who could do as much as any man and then some. And we’re Susan B. Anthony, who shook the system until the law reflected that truth. That is our character.

We’re the immigrants who stowed away on ships to reach these shores, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free –- Holocaust survivors, Soviet defectors, the Lost Boys of Sudan. We’re the hopeful strivers who cross the Rio Grande because we want our kids to know a better life. That’s how we came to be. (Applause.)

We’re the slaves who built the White House and the economy of the South. (Applause.) We’re the ranch hands and cowboys who opened up the West, and countless laborers who laid rail, and raised skyscrapers, and organized for workers’ rights.

We’re the fresh-faced GIs who fought to liberate a continent. And we’re the Tuskeegee Airmen, and the Navajo code-talkers, and the Japanese Americans who fought for this country even as their own liberty had been denied.

We’re the firefighters who rushed into those buildings on 9/11, the volunteers who signed up to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq. We’re the gay Americans whose blood ran in the streets of San Francisco and New York, just as blood ran down this bridge. (Applause.)

We are storytellers, writers, poets, artists who abhor unfairness, and despise hypocrisy, and give voice to the voiceless, and tell truths that need to be told.

We’re the inventors of gospel and jazz and blues, bluegrass and country, and hip-hop and rock and roll, and our very own sound with all the sweet sorrow and reckless joy of freedom.

We are Jackie Robinson, enduring scorn and spiked cleats and pitches coming straight to his head, and stealing home in the World Series anyway. (Applause.)

We are the people Langston Hughes wrote of who “build our temples for tomorrow, strong as we know how.” We are the people Emerson wrote of, “who for truth and honor’s sake stand fast and suffer long;” who are “never tired, so long as we can see far enough.”

That’s what America is. Not stock photos or airbrushed history, or feeble attempts to define some of us as more American than others. (Applause.) We respect the past, but we don’t pine for the past. We don’t fear the future; we grab for it. America is not some fragile thing. We are large, in the words of Whitman, containing multitudes. We are boisterous and diverse and full of energy, perpetually young in spirit. That’s why someone like John Lewis at the ripe old age of 25 could lead a mighty march.

And that’s what the young people here today and listening all across the country must take away from this day. You are America. Unconstrained by habit and convention. Unencumbered by what is, because you’re ready to seize what ought to be.

For everywhere in this country, there are first steps to be taken, there’s new ground to cover, there are more bridges to be crossed. And it is you, the young and fearless at heart, the most diverse and educated generation in our history, who the nation is waiting to follow.

Because Selma shows us that America is not the project of any one person. Because the single-most powerful word in our democracy is the word “We.” “We The People.” “We Shall Overcome.” “Yes We Can.” (Applause.) That word is owned by no one. It belongs to everyone. Oh, what a glorious task we are given, to continually try to improve this great nation of ours.

Fifty years from Bloody Sunday, our march is not yet finished, but we’re getting closer. Two hundred and thirty-nine years after this nation’s founding our union is not yet perfect, but we are getting closer. Our job’s easier because somebody already got us through that first mile. Somebody already got us over that bridge. When it feels the road is too hard, when the torch we’ve been passed feels too heavy, we will remember these early travelers, and draw strength from their example, and hold firmly the words of the prophet Isaiah: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on [the] wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.” (Applause.)

We honor those who walked so we could run. We must run so our children soar. And we will not grow weary. For we believe in the power of an awesome God, and we believe in this country’s sacred promise.

May He bless those warriors of justice no longer with us, and bless the United States of America. Thank you, everybody. (Applause.)

Zoe Kravitz is back on the beach in her little bitty black bikini.  Check the pics inside, plus Ludacris' wife Eudoxie spending her weeked brunching for a cause and showing off her baby bump...

Hottie Zoe Kravitz is soaking in the sun and sand ad getting her R&R in before the promo blitzes for her new blockbuster films begin.  She's set to star in Insurgent& Mad Max: Fury Road, and it's making for a busy schedule.

So all weekend, the daughter of Lisa Bonet & Lenny Kravitz has been in Miami celebrating her new Ocean Drive magazine cover and hitting the beach:

Cute.

And down in Atlanta:

 photo Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 1.49.56 PM_zpsfek3szw4.png

Ludacris' brand new bride Eudoxie is showing off that baby bump of hers.  She spoke today at her Inspire Brunch where she worked with a cause called Unspoken Angels.  She brought her Valentino heels to the fancy tea and brunch went down at the Intercontinental Hotel, so she seems to be dealing with her new baby body well:

 photo Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 1.50.18 PM_zpsggnwyofg.png   photo Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 1.56.11 PM_zpso0utjgca.png photo Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 1.55.23 PM_zpslevdos2a.png

She spoke to a group of women, on International Women's Day, about getting inspired in life.  And the cause is all her idea.  According to the website:

Eudoxie Mbouguiyengue is a native of the villages of Gabon, a country in West Central Africa. Coming from humble beginnings, she knows what it means to struggle. She was reared in impoverished circumstances, sometimes not even having enough to eat. Enduring various forms of verbal, mental and sexual abuses, Eudoxie prayed to be delivered from the environment that had become common place in the African culture. She was brought to America, only speaking three English words, yet managed to succeed in our educational systems.

The idea of Unspoken Angels has long since been a burning desire in her heart. “There are few things of more importance to me than to reach back to young ladies who have experienced abuses and be able to help them deal with the hurt, betrayal and feelings of inadequacy that I too have suffered in association with those abuses. This non-profit agency is a vehicle to let young ladies know they are not alone and there is life after abuse.”

ON THE ‘GRAM: Laura Govan REVEALS She Had A Miscarriage + Estelle, Kelly Price & More Go To Selma + Remy Ma Throws Papoose A 'Harlem Nights' Themed Party

We’ve rounded up a few Instagram pics. Laura Govan reveals she had recently had a miscarriage. Meanwhile, Estelle, Kelly Price, Eric Benet, Flavor Flav, Bell Biv DeVoe and more attended the Selma 50th anniversary and Remy Ma threw her husband Papoose a birthday bash. Peep the IG pics inside….

This weekend was all about family for former “Basketball Wives L.A.” star Laura Govan.

Apparently, Laura has been under the radar for the past few months. And now we know why. Unfortunately, she revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage. She was pregnant with her 5th baby and seemed excited about the new edition, only to be let down. She posted to her fans:

I wanted to share something with U guys and why I've been out of the loop, well #NRealLife for the past three months I've been sick, and extremely exhausted and about a month ago I found out that I was pregnant with my 5th baby, which I thought was impossible. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. When it happened I didn't want to talk about or deal with it, but now I'm ready to get my life back on track! I gained a good 15 pounds during this rough time in my life. I want you to rock with me as I take this journey of losing the weight and getting ME back .... because this is something REAL that happens every day to women like you and me and it's real easy to feel alone, confused and unsure about how to handle or deal with the struggle. Thank God for my REAL friends and family who allowed me to do me and take some time away to get back to focus. #inRealLife I'm so thankful for all your support .... Let's get it ... And Thank You for the LOVE

So to help keep her head in a good space, the mother of four took her babies on a helicopter ride this weekend:

 photo glok3.png

 photo glok4.png

She captioned, "Every Day is A New Adventure In Our House ... So this Am Were All In the Bed and I asked My Babies what do they Want to Do!?! The Answer was Jump Out of A Plane! So OK!!!!! LetDo It! First Things First lets Fly in A Helicopter and see How U Do!?!?! So Ladies First UP UP And Away ..... #inRealLife #MyBabiesCanDoAnything 5/9YrOld"

Then it was the boys' turn:

 photo glok5.png

 photo glok1.png

She said, "Boys Turn .... Alijah was Freaking Out! #UTheOneThatAskedToJumpOutthePlane #NightLights #inRealLife Helicopter Night Tour #ManILearnFromThemEveryDay #TheyInspireMe #BraveSouls #AlwaysLadiesFirstInMyHouse"

Nothing like family to get you through a rough patch. Glad she's doing well.

Elsewhere....

Over the weekend, we showed you the pictures of our beautiful First Family marching with others down in Selma, Alabama to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. And a few YBF celebs were in attendance as well.

R&B songstress Estelle linked up with singer/former “R&B Divas L.A.” star Kelly Price, rapper Flavor Flav and Birmingham, Alabama mayor William A. Bell before the #Selma50 festivities.

The British songbird mingled with the people as they crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge and snapped pics in front of the Selma welcome sign. She captioned, "Redefining what it means to cross this bridge. #selma50 #thebiggestselfieonaBridgeever"

 photo igp8.png

"EXTRA" correspondent AJ Calloway linked up with his Omega Psi Phi fraternity brother John Salley for a photo-op.

R&B singer Eric Benet was in the mix rocking a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. t-shirt.

R&B singing group Bell Biv DeVoe came out to support.

Gospel singer Bebe Winans and jazz saxophonist Dave Koz caught with each other during the event.

And legendary singer Bill Withers was also in attendance. Nice!

 photo remp1.png

Rapper Papoose celebrated a birthday over the weekend. And his wife Remy Ma pulled out the red carpet via a Harlem Nights themed party. The Bronx raptress is serving in a red Alfredo Rijo gown!

 photo remp2.png

Remy captioned, "Me & Mr. "It's My Birthday" aka @papoosepapoose last night at his HARLEM NIGHT'S Themed Surprise party - do you know how hard it is to trick somebody who wears baseball caps & hoodies for a living into putting on an entire suit under the pretense that we're just going to "dinner" SMH #HeMadNosy #RemAndPap #RemyMa #ItsHisFavoriteMovie #HeThoughtHeWasQuickAllNight #ImSunshine lol " Too cute.

Speaking of birthdays...

NY Knicks baller Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Anthony's son Kiyan celebrated his 8th birthday over the weekend. And the YBF kiddie was all smiles with his Power Rangers cake. Lala wrote a heartfelt birthday message to her baby boy saying,  "Happy Birthday to my big boy Kiyan. 8 years old today! My love for you is a love that can never be explained. You light up Mommy & Daddy's lives. Happy Birthday to my bestfriend FOREVER #happybdayKiyan" Loves it.

Happy Birthday Kiyan!

R. Kelly's ex-wife/"Hollywood Exes" star Andrea Kelly is currently holding dance auditions in Atlanta. And she's showing off her dance skills. Check her out above.

She's also pulling inspiration from her ex-husband....

Andrea was working it out to Jennifer Hudson's track "It's Your World" featuring R.Kelly. Well alright.

And last but not least, Kelly Rowland shared a gorgeous selfie before taking in for the night. Chick must be tired from all of the Paris Fashion Week shows she attended this weekend.

Caught up in the moment, Kim showered her man with kisses as they made their rounds.

Another Kardashian on the move....

 photo clevei15.png

After a couple's vacay in Florida this weekend, French Montana and his “on-again” main chick Khloe Kardashian were spotted back in L.A. yesterday.

 photo celevril8.png

The couple hid behind dark sunglasses and donned all black as they made their way through LAX airport. The twosome spent the weekend in Key West aboard a boat with friends. They each posted sunset pics on Instagram while in Key West, but neither of them posted a pic together.

Guess they're back "on"...for now.

Speaking of couples....

Tyga brought his underage girlfriend Kylie Jenner to The Forum in Inglewood last night for his "Between the Sheets" tour. She was spotted standing backstage with him and sitting in the passenger seat of his car as he snapped flicks with fans. Peep their pics on our Instagram pageHERE.

Suge Knight is due in court today where a judge will hear evidence in his murder trial.  In the meantime, full video of the hit-and-run has emerged and it may change folk's opinions.  Watch it inside...

We've got a few updates on imprisoned former record exec Suge Knight who pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges in February.

Since his incarceration, Suge has sought emergency medical care THREE times and now claims he's going blind! If that weren't enough on his plate, he's fired his attorneys!

Today, he's expected in court (where he "may" represent himself) and there's a new video online of the graphic alleged hit-and-run.

While prosecutors claim Suge intentionally ran over Cle "Bone" Sloan and Terry Carter, Suge (with his former attorneys) argued he was acting in self-defense after allegedly being assaulted.

We've watched the clip (via TMZ)....and "Bone" clearly had some sort of fight with Suge (who was still in his truck).  On the video, recorded January 29th, you'll see Suge pull into Tam's Burger and get confronted by Cle "Bone" Sloan. Then there's a fight. Suge suddenly throws the truck in reverse, toppling Bone over. Moments later, Suge hits the gas again and strikes Bone a second time and also hits Terry mortally wounding him.

Terry Carter's family asked that TMZ post the video to show what happened. Via their lawyer, Gary Dordick, they told TMZ, "The Carter family is pleased you are releasing the video so the public can see what actually occurred and not be forced to speculate based on third party descriptions of the video."

Now...the circumstances that led to Suge running over the men....that's for the judge and jury to decide. But we've got the tape...

Was this self-defense or the work of an angry man?

Cynthia is in an awkward position this season as she's being painted as a pot-stirrer and trouble maker.

While taking to Andy, she defended her decision to bring the "Mr. Chocolate" rumors and Phaedra's alleged infidelity to the forefront but she dodged Porsha and Phaedra's gossip about Peter sleeping around. Hmmmmm........

But, she did jab Porsha saying everything about her life is a lie, “I don’t believe a thing that comes out of Porsha’s mouth.”

Meanwhile, Melissa Gorga assured viewers that her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice is strong and doing as well as she can while serving out her sentence.  She added that she sees Joe Giudice "Manning up" and taking their daughters to school in the morning.  She says the family has grown closer.

Cynthia says Porsha lives a lie (and dodges the Peter cheating rumors):

Porsha Williams had a few things to say about late bills and Cynthia Bailey (before she had a change of heart and deleted her tweets).  Luckily, @entertainmentprescription grabbed screen shots of Porsha commenting during Cynthia's "WWHL" appearance. We're gagging that Porsha claims Cynthia has Botox, fillers AND butt shots. SMH...does anyone have a real booty anymore?

Jussie Smollett Addresses His Sexuality On “Ellen,” Says “There’s Never Been A Closet That I’ve Been In”

 photo jusel.jpg

For the first time, “Empire” star Jussie Smollett addresses his sexual orientation while chopping it up backstage with daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Find out what he said inside…

Since FOX’s new hip hopera “Empire” took over the small screen, many have been wondering if the middle son Jamal Lyon —played by Jussie Smollett—is gay in real life.

The burning question has come up in interviews before. During a sitdown with Sway Calloway for his satellite radio show, Jussie was asked about his sexual preference where he said he preferred not to discuss his personal life.

Soon after Jussie’s interview, his “Empire” co-star Malik Yoba seemingly let the cat out of the bag, confirming Jussie was, in fact, gay. Malik has since tried to backtrack his comment, stating his words were misquoted and that he was referring to Jussie’s character, not Jussie's personal life. Hmph.

Now, Jussie is finally addressing the issue. The talented star met up with Ellen DeGeneres backstage after taping a segment for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where he addresses the rumors surrounding his sexuality.

The 31-year-old actor opened up saying,

“There is no closet. There’s never been a closet that I’ve been in. I don't own a closet, I got a dresser, but I don't have a closet. But I have a home and that is my responsibility, to protect that home."

He continued,

“So that’s why I choose not to talk ‘bout my personal life. But there is without a doubt, no closet that I’ve ever been in, and I just wanted to make that clear, but it was most important for me to make that clear to you on your show at this time in the world. And that’s where I’m at.”

The new Columbia Records signee said Ellen (who is gay) is a big inspiration to him and that he admires the work she has put in for the LGBT community. He said,

“What you've done within the LGBT community is very much, in my opinion, kind of like what Michael Jackson did with the black community. Just that, you are who you are. You're just Ellen. So it was really important to me to make sure that it got across that there is no closet."

He ended the conversation saying,

“Boom! Now y'all don’t even gotta ask no more."

Well there you have it.
