MORE BACKLASH: Wendy Williams DEFENDS "Aaliyah" Biopic, Charlamagne Tha God SHADES Wendy Williams & Makes Movie Donkey Of The Day

 photo wendycharkk.jpg

Charlamagne Tha God, a former sidekick of Wendy Williams, delivered a low blow to her ego when he trashed her "Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B" flick and gave it his "Donkey Of The Day."  Listen to the diss inside and find out what Wendy said about the film on her show...

By now, you and most (if not all) of your friends have seen "Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B".  And most, if not all of you hated it. Right?  Well....producer Wendy Williams is not bothered.  Today on her hot topics segment, Wendy addressed the backlash with a simple statement:

"I see my Aaliyah move broke the internet this weekend. Everybody's got an opinion. Whether you loved it or hated it, you watched. It was the second highest rated movie on cable this year....We all have opinions but I must say, if you still want to see the Aaliyah movie it comes on tonight at 8 o clock. And Alexandra Shipp, you did a great job as Aaliyah."

That was ALL Wendy had to say about the film, which was a hot topic all weekend.

Fan backlash on social media was not as positive. And today, one of Wendy's former radio sidekicks, Charlamange Tha God used his platform on "The Breakfast Club" to trash the movie, the director, the casting director, the writer, all the actors AND all five producers (with added emphasis on Wendy, who's supposed to represent "the culture").

He joked that the acting on "Love and Hip Hop" was way better than the Aaliyah movie. Sadly...he's right. Get your laugh on...

Trey Smith celebrated his 22nd birthday with his famous parents Will Smith and Sheree Fletcher and stepmom Jada Pinkett Smith over the weekend.  See pics inside...

Trey Smith, who's known around the chic party set as DJ Ace, celebrated his 22nd birthday on Saturday with a high-paying gig at Ghostbar Dayclub in The Palms Casino and Resort.

 photo 1416185889511_wps_1_LAS_VEGAS_NV_NOVEMBER_15_.jpg

DJ Ace turned the gig into a birthday/family affair as he welcomed his famous stepmom, "Gotham" actress Jada Pinkett Smith, and his superstar father Will Smith to the party.

Hollywood's A-list power couple chilled at a VIP table, decorated with oversized DJ ACE lollipops, as Trey kept the party moving.

The two Smiths, both in black t-shirts and jeans, posed for pics before Jada and Will presented Trey with a three-tier DJ-inspired birthday cake, decorated with turntables and headphones.  Cute!

 photo 1416181626691_Image_galleryImage_LAS_VEGAS_NV_NOVEMBER_15_.jpg

Trey's mom, (and Will's ex-wife) Sheree Fletcher was also in the building.  Much like Russell and Kimora, The Smiths and Sheree are a good example of blended family that gets along.  Unfortunately for Sheree, we've recently learned about her pending divorce.  The "Hollywood Exes" star will soon split from her second husband , ex-NFL star and pastor Terrell Fletcher.  Well...at least the divorce will give her a new storyline.

BONUS: Jada posted this super sweet birthday message for Trey last week:

Trey,
I met you when you were two and today you are 22! You have blessed my life in ways I could have never imagined. You've burst my heart wide open, you've stretched my capacity of cooperation and compassion for our blended family and from that you've helped me discover the real meaning of...family. But most of all, there is a special twinkle in my heart that only you feed and it’s a twinkle I wouldn't have without you in my life. I adore you Trey... Happy Birthday!!!!!!

“Love & Hip Hop New York” is back for the foolishness and foolywang with a brand new season premiering December 15th. And with a new season, comes new cast mates. Meet them inside….

Let the foolywang and ratchetness commence!

Following the crazy shenanigans on “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood”, a brand new season of “Love & Hip Hop New York” is set to premiere. Reality TV fans can catch “LAHH NY” season 5 on VH1 Monday, December 15th at 8pm ET. And with a new season, comes new cast mates.

"LAHH NY" vets Yandy Smith, Peter Guz, Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena will be returning to the show with their usual drama. And we will also meet new faces to star in the VH1 franchise.

A synopsis of what we can expect this season, according to the press release:

“Love & Hip Hop: New York” continues to capture the heart and hustle of being on top of the music industry in the city that never sleeps. The birthplace of hip hop is the stomping ground for these hopefuls to continue to make their dreams come true - whether it’s to reunite their family, secure a relationship, or become a rising star – they each will hit the pavement trying to make it all happen.

Here's the tea on the new cast mates:

Chink Santana- is a talented music producer who has worked with artists such as Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. His girlfriend Chrissy Crastanda would like to solidify their relationship, but Chink's commitment to his family and work may prevent them from moving forward.

Chrissy Crastanda- is a NYC socialite and owner of a modeling agency. She is ready to start a family with her boyfriend Chink but his other commitments and delayed divorce are putting her wishes on hold.

Cisco Rosado- is a well-known producer who has worked with Tank, Jim Jones and Uncle Murder. His “don’t ask, don’t tell” relationship with his girlfriend Diamond Strawberry takes a turn for the worst when she decides to move to NY to be closer to him and later finds out he has been dishonest.

Diamond Strawberry- daughter of New York Mets outfielder Daryl Strawberry, Diamond has moved to NY from L.A. to start her career as a model and build her relationship with her boyfriend Cisco but her decision backfires when she finds out her boyfriend has betrayed her.

Precious Paris- formerly signed to 50 Cent’s label G-UNIT, recently signed a management deal with Dollaz Unlimited. But when another artist is added to her manager’s roster, she is disappointed to find out that she may be sharing her spotlight.

Will you be tuned in for the "Love & Hip Hop NY" madness once it returns?

DOWN WITH THE SWIRL: TV Personality Jacque Reid ACCEPTS Then REJECTS Interracial Dating Site's Offer To Find A Mate

0
0

 photo jacquereid12.png

Jacque Reid backed out of an online dating service's offer to find her a man...of any race. We wondering if Jacque might've changed her mind because interracial dating is still taboo? More inside...

 photo 2qv9pqd.gif

The swirl.  Chocolate and Vanilla.  Butter Pecan and all the flavors in between.  For some folks, interracial dating is still a taboo subject some fear facing...even if it means remaining single.

News personality Jacque Reid (“New York Live”, “Tom Joyner Morning Show”, Editor-in-Chief of SingleandLivingFAB.com) might be one of those people.  Jacque initially signed up with an online dating service, InterracialDatingCentral.com, who planned to hook her up with a date.  She told the NY Post,“I’ve met some good men. I’ve met some bad men and dated very bad men."

Her situation with InterracialDatingCentral.com was going to be a BIG to-do. The website sent out a press release saying,

"The popular interracial dating website is now announcing that it is searching for eligible New York City bachelors, ages 35 to 45 to submit pictures, a bio, a contact telephone number, and a brief description explaining why they would like to be considered for a date with the beautiful and talented Jacque Reid. "

Sounds fun right? Imagine having hundreds, maybe thousands of eligible bachelors in New York City vying for your attention. What single gal would turn down that attention? Well....Jacque, who has only dated outside of her race once, was on board - at first.  But, she backed out of the planned searched shortly after the press release went out. Why?

InterracialDatingCentral's Brand Ambassador, Christelyn Karazin might have an answer. During a candid chat with the NY Post, Christelyn offered the observation that Jacque back out because it's taboo for Black women to date outside of their race...and she suggested Jacque bought into that.

She added, “Black men date or marry interracially at more than double the level women do. They are given a pass. They can date anyone they want to — black women, white women.”

One thing's clear....Christelyn does not subscribe to that belief. She's gone on record saying, "This isn't about exclusion, it's about inclusion. What you've been doing almost your entire dating life is excluding. Just because you date or marry a white man doesn't mean you're not black anymore. You still have your black card."

Hmmm....food for thought.  For the record, Jacque Reid's official reason for backing out of the deal was that she got "busy" with work. That's completely possible. But it may just be a piece of the story.

Where do you stand on the swirl?

EXTRAS:

Remember Andrew Caldwell...the man who was "deliverdt" from homosexuality?  He, and the COGIC congregation received an apology from Bishop Charles E. Blake, the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God In Christ, this week.  He apologized on behalf of Superintendent Earl Carter, who used the word “sissy” to describe gay men and shockingly said  he hoped they would bleed from their butts in a notorious sermon that went viral.  Bishop Blake said,

“On Saturday evening, November the 8th, one of our more than 15 speakers used terms and spoke in a way that was offensive and inappropriate. “Though he alone is responsible for the nature and tone of his remarks, it was on my watch that this took place. Even though I was not present at the service on that night, as Presiding Bishop, I apologize for what seemed to be a harsh, uncompassionate, disrespectful spirit on the part of that speaker.”

“I also apologize to Andrew Caldwell, a young seeker for the Lord, who came forth and made statements on that night regarding his change of heart and his purpose in life. His testimony literally went viral and it has brought upon him criticism and sardonicism. We extend our love, our prayers and our support to that young man as he seeks to know God and to serve God. “”

Watch it above....

SPORTS BITS: Michael Sam NABS Spot On GQ’s 2014 Men Of The Year List + NEW Deets On Dwight Howard’s Child Abuse Investigation + Kevin Hart CLOWNS Jameis Winston

 photo msGQ.jpg

Openly gay NFL free agent Michael Sam is gracing the cover of GQ’s Men Of The Year Issue. Also, new details have emerged surrounding Dwight Howard's child abuse allegations and Kevin Hart clowns college football player Jameis Winston when you go inside…

Michael Sam made history and caught all of our attention this year after becoming the first openly gay pro-football player to be drafted into the NFL. And although he’s currently a free agent, the former University of Missouri All-American baller is making some big moves...off the field.

The 24-year-old defensive end nabbed a spot on GQ magazine’s 2014 Men of the Year list. Michael’s cover is included in the six GQ covers released for its annual list of celebrities who set the tone in 2014.

The NFL draftee is super excited over his big feat and took to Twitter to share his excitement saying, “A big thank you to @GQMagazine for including me among their #GQMOTY - I'm beyond honored to share their company!!”

Mike was drafted by the St. Louis Rams during the 2014 NFL draft in August. The Rams dropped him during preseason and he was quickly picked up by the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately for him, he never made it to a real game after he was axed from the Cowboys practice squad in October.

So what’s next for the football player? Well, he could get recruited into the Arena Football League. We hear Las Vegas Outlaws owner Vince Neil (Motley Crue lead singer) is interested in Michael playing on his team. No word if Michael will play, but good news for him nonetheless.

Joining Michael on the list...

 photo daveGQ.jpg

Comedian Dave Chappelle also nabbed a GQ cover. Nice! Sam and Dave's interviews will be released later this week.

In other news.....

 photo dhoward.png

New details have emerged regarding NBA baller Dwight Howard being investigated for allegedly abusing his son Braylon, whom he shares with former reality star Royce Reed. Dwight has since been cleared on the allegations but now, the doctor who examined his son after the alleged abuse is speaking out. And he's confirming Braylon's injuries conclude he was hit with a belt with "excessive force".

A little backstory…Former “BBW” star Royce Reed took her 6-year-old son Braylon to Children’s Services in Florida when he came home with bruises on his leg after spending time with his father. Reports allege Dwight beat Braylon with a belt leaving the abrasions. And during an interview with police, Dwight confessed to whipping Braylon, but confirmed he did NOT leave any bumps or bruises.

It was reported the case was closed by Children’s Services and no charges were filed, but if you ask Royce...she’s singing a different tune. She claims the case is NOT closed and it’s still open because Dwight refuses to speak to the police.

Now..the doctor who examined Braylon is speaking out on the child’s injuries. TMZ Sports got their hands on the documents from the Dept. of Children and Families (DCF), which gives a synopsis of the doctor's findings. TMZ Sports reports:

"Dr. Kesler noted Braylon to have a linear bruise and patterned abrasions consistent with the history given by Braylon of being struck with a belt numerous times by his father."

The report goes on to say the injuries were "consistent with Braylon being struck with the buckle end of the belt ... with excessive force, resulting in soft tissue injuries such as bruising and abrasions."

And the report indicates Dr. Kesler found the injuries lasted longer than 24 hours and were "consistent with a medical diagnosis of physical abuse."

And the doctor recommended that Howard participate in parenting classes and use methods other than corporal punishment to discipline his son.

DCF concluded the child abuse allegations were "not substantiated," but in Florida that means there is "credible evidence" of child abuse, but not enough to warrant action. What's curious is why the doctor's findings weren't enough.

Dwight’s rep issued a statement regarding the incident saying, "The Florida Dept. of Children and Families thoroughly examined all of the evidence and determined that there was insufficient evidence of child abuse."

In an earlier statement, Dwight’s rep claimed his client filed legal documents that accuse Royce of being an unfit mother.

Sighs...these two STAY at it.

And for today's laugh-of-the-day....

A video posted by Juan Hustle (@juanhustle) on

After a show in Tallahassee, funnyman Kevin Hart stopped by Florida State University to chop it up and horse around with the Seminoles players. And when Kevin met up with star quarterback Jameis Winston, an epic roast session ensued.

Remember when the Heisman Trophy winner walked out of a grocery store with crab legs he did NOT pay for? Yea…well y’all know Kevin had plenty to say about that (and probably could have said plenty more if the clip was longer than 15 seconds).

The Ride Along 2 star clowned the college QB for “mistakenly” walking out of the store with the stolen goods and told him to stop doing “dumb sh*t”. Kevin said it in a joking matter, but we so agree with him. Check the mini-clown session above.

And a new musical offering....

Usher unleashes a brand new track titled “Clueless”. Seems the track is merely a promo single being that it will not be featured on his upcoming eighth studio album, UR.

Produced by Da Internz and Bryan-Michael Cox, Ursh croons to his special lady over how much he loves her and how he love has left him clueless. Fans looking to ride out to the new track can download it for free on specially marked Honey Nut Cherrios boxes.

Cheese!

Baby Future was in a really good mood yesterday, as he played peek-a-boo with his mom Ciara yesterday.

Future Jr. and CiCi each copped a pair of “sleek” mommy-and-me Timbaland boots. And the almost 6-month-old stunner copped a brand new hat to match his new kicks.

CiCi captioned the pic, "Sleek #Timbs For Me and Him" Too cute.

And for one last dose of cuteness....

MUSING From The Smiths: Controversial Cool Kids Jaden & Willow EXPLAIN Why "Time" Doesn't Exist, THINKING Can Be Dangerous And Schools Are Useless

 photo 17smith-wu-tmagArticle-v2.jpg

Jaden and Willow Smith, the sometimes controversial offspring of Hollywood power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith sat for their first joint interview where they shared their interesting views about time, education and being artists.  Be amazed inside...

 photo 17smith-wu-2-tmagArticle-v2.jpg

Thanks to The New York Times "T" Magazine, we've got perhaps the most in-depth look into the minds of Willow and Jaden Smith, the home-schooled children of mega-rich power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.  One thing you'll notice immediately is that the kids are very intelligent.  No matter how "out there" their thinkings and thought processes might seem, it's clear that at 16 (Jaden) and 14 (Willow) they're well-read, well-traveled, and very worldly - more than most adults.

In their first joint interview, we get to see what makes them tick, how and why they express themselves through music and fashion and their plans for the future.  It's also pretty entertaining to see how self-confident they are.  At one point, Jaden reveals that he makes music because he doesn't like anyone else's while Willow writes her own novels because there's nothing else out there to enjoy.

JADEN: Honestly, we’re just trying to make music that we think is cool. We don’t think a lot of the music out there is that cool. So we make our own music. We don’t have any song that we like to listen to on the P.C.H. by any other artist, you know?

WILLOW: That’s what I do with novels. There’re no novels that I like to read so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it’s the best thing.

JADEN: Willow’s been writing her own novels since she was 6.

Alright then......here are the highlights:

TIME Is Not REAL:

WILLOW: I mean, time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please, and that’s how I know it doesn’t exist.

JADEN: It’s proven that how time moves for you depends on where you are in the universe. It’s relative to beings and other places. But on the level of being here on earth, if you are aware in a moment, one second can last a year. And if you are unaware, your whole childhood, your whole life can pass by in six seconds. But it’s also such a thing that you can get lost in.

WILLOW: Because living.

JADEN: Right, because you have to live. There’s a theoretical physicist inside all of our minds, and you can talk and talk, but it’s living.

WILLOW: It’s the action of it.

ON THE DANGERS OF THINKING:

WILLOW: Caring less what everybody else thinks, but also caring less and less about what your own mind thinks, because what your own mind thinks, sometimes, is the thing that makes you sad.

JADEN: Exactly. Because your mind has a duality to it. So when one thought goes into your mind, it’s not just one thought, it has to bounce off both hemispheres of the brain. When you’re thinking about something happy, you’re thinking about something sad. When you think about an apple, you also think about the opposite of an apple. It’s a tool for understanding mathematics and things with two separate realities. But for creativity: That comes from a place of oneness. That’s not a duality consciousness. And you can’t listen to your mind in those times — it’ll tell you what you think and also what other people think.

WILLOW: And then you think about what you think, which is very dangerous.

ON EDUCATION And Why Schools Don't Work:

JADEN: Here’s the deal: School is not authentic because it ends. It’s not true, it’s not real. Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.

WILLOW: Forever, ‘til the day that we’re in our bed.

JADEN: Kids who go to normal school are so teenagery, so angsty.

WILLOW: They never want to do anything, they’re so tired.

JADEN: You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver’s ed? What’s up? I still haven’t been to driver’s ed because if everybody I know has been in an accident, I can’t see how driver’s ed is really helping them out.

WILLOW: I went to school for one year. It was the best experience but the worst experience. The best experience because I was, like, “Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.” But it was the worst experience because I was depressed.

Read the entire profile here.  And in terms of music, Willow’s “3″ is available now and Jaden released “Cool Tapes Vol. 2″ this week.

MEN & MAGAZINES: Dave Chappelle Covers GQ’s 2014 Men Of The Year Issue—Talks Returning To The Spotlight + Wale Covers COMPLEX Alongside Jerry Seinfield

 photo davecomplex.jpg

Dave Chappelle is slowly making his return into the spotlight. And for his first interview in a decade, he chopped it up with GQ for his cover story in their 2014 Men of the Year issue. Also, Wale nabbed the cover of Complex magazine with Jerry Seinfield. Peep their covers inside….

Who knew Dave Chappelle cleaned up so nicely? We didn’t, but were totally feeling his dapper grown man cover. Dave Chappelle has nabbed a spot on GQ’s 2014 Men of the Year and he is also featured on one of the six alternative December covers for the annual list of celebrities who set the tone in 2014 (including NFL free agent Michael Sam).

After leaving the limelight during the height of his career, funnyman Dave Chappelle is slowly returning to the spotlight. And this go round, Dave is making it a priority to do things his way.

The comedic genius was riding the waves of success with his hit Comedy Central series, "Chappelle's Show" in 2005. But, Dave abruptly left the limelight and went into (what appeared to be) seclusion and damn near vanished from the Hollywood scene.

Now, the stand-up comic is making a comeback. But don’t call it a comeback because Dave surely isn’t. This summer, Dave performed ten sold-out shows at Radio City in NYC…and get this, each show sold-out in a matter of hours. Clearly proving his fans are still riding with him and just can’t get enough of funny stories from the stage. He told GQ,

“I mean, I've been out here doing comedy the whole time. But if certain people don't see you, it's not that you don't exist, it's just that they haven't seen you. People are always like, ‘I heard you moved to Africa.’ And in reality I was only there for about two weeks.”

These days, Dave seems to be enjoying being back in his natural element. He dished,

I think that's probably my natural disposition. Obviously, in some situations or places, I'll be way more guarded. But I feel good this week. I had a nice week at home. I've been on the road nine out of the last twelve months this year, which was the most I've done in years, so I'm more accustomed to being around people. You know, for a while, I was kind of sequestered. Well, sequestered is not the right word. It was more like Superman's self-imposed exile.

Like most us, Dave has a bucket list, but his list is geared towards what he would like to accomplish with his career. He talked about his full-circle moment performing at Radio City in which he said,

“I have a show-business bucket list. There’s just certain things that every entertainer always dreamed of doing. When I was 19, I used to walk up Sixth Avenue and look at the marquee of Radio City. I’d see the lines outside. I’d be like ‘Man, I just want to…Radio City!’…It just so happened the venue was open during the same time frame I was willing to play.”

So what does Dave dream of accomplishing now?

“For one year, I want to do this thing where I guest-star on as many television shows as I possibly can,” he explains. “I’d be a zombie on The Walking Dead. A corpse on CSI. I’d be the first black guy to f*ck Olivia Pope on Scandal…”

Well alright. Read the rest of Dave's here.

GQ’s 2014 Men of the Year December issue is available on newsstands now in NYC & L.A. and will be available nationally November 25th.

On another magazine cover....

 photo walecomplex.png

A seemingly unlikely pair covers the December 2014 issue of COMPLEX magazine. But, D.C. rapper Wale (rocking a pair of $2,000 “What the Dunk” Nike SBs) and comedian/actor Jerry Seinfield may have more in common than you may think.

Wale and Jerry’s relationship blossomed after the MMG rapper took inspiration from episode titles and samples of Jerry’s show for his 2008 mixtape, The Mixtape About Nothing. Eventually, Jerry heard Wale’s musical offering and felt he just had to meet him. So he did and from there, the two formed a professional and personal relationship.

The odd pair talked about working together on Wale’s upcoming album titled, The Album About Nothing and now their meetings have turned into reality. Jerry is featured on Wale’s album as a narrator, with spoken-word segments that help narrate the basis of the tracks.

Now, the two are taking their friendship to the magazine circuit and they have included a very funny skit. Wale and Jerry dished to Complex about social media trolls, strippers, his infamous rant over Complex not including his album on the 50 Best Albums of 2013, sneakers, fame and more.

Below are a few highlights from their joint interview:

What’s tougher to deal with: Twitter hecklers or real-life hecklers on stage?
W: Are you familiar with Twitter hecklers?
JS: Oh, yeah.
Do you read your Twitter mentions and look at hate?
JS: Yeah. It has no substance for me. It’s like when somebody has a cigarette and they blow the smoke in your face. It’s going to be gone in two seconds. I don’t care. [Looks at Wale.] Oh, he’s upset. [Laughs.]
W: I handle it differently. It’s different!
JS: Why do you give these people meaning?
W: I don’t know, Jerry. I don’t know.
JS: You don’t have to! It’s your choice.
W: I try to rationalize with people. Like, “Why do you feel this way?”
JS: Who cares!?
W: I don’t know. Nine times out of 10, when I respond, I just want to find out what’s the root of it. Somebody says, “If I f*ck with him, he’s gonna react.” What then? Did you win any money? Did your life become better? Why would you do that? Why is this entertaining to you? I just don’t understand why.
JS: Yeah, well I have a terrace at my apartment and it’s fantastic. You have to come see it sometime. Every time I go out on that terrace I think, Maybe I’ll jump. [Wale laughs.] Because if I jump, the list of things I don’t have to do is so long, the issues I don’t have to deal with. All I have to do is jump and everything is taken care of! Now, I don’t jump. But I don’t care to know why I want to jump. What’s the difference why? The mind is not that great.

When’s the last time you were in a strip club, Jerry?
JS: A bachelor party in the mid-’90s. I went reluctantly. You know, you go there and it’s just...you know.
W: It’s not all it’s cracked up to be sometimes.
JS: It’s exactly what it’s cracked up to be. It’s just not cracked up that high.
W: Well, Magic City is an experience.
JS: Is that in Atlanta? I don’t know what that is. But I know what girls are.
W: Yeah. Never say never. You have social gatherings at Magic City. Chicken socials and shit like that. You just go there with your friends. It’s different. I’ve done interviews at Magic City.
JS: I know what you’re saying. I understand chicken and naked women.
W: Can’t beat that.
JS: I’d actually rather just have the chicken. I can’t eat chicken and look at strippers at the same time.
W: It’s an acquired taste. Literally.

Wale has had a rough relationship with COMPLEX. Have you heard the phone call he made to us last December?

JS: I love it. That was good entertainment.

W: It’s all an angle. I learned that from wrestling. It’s just like a story. My devious plot.

JS: All good entertainment.

W: [Laughs.] Well, at the moment it wasn’t entertainment.

JS: I know, but that’s what makes it good. I enjoyed it. I was laughing so hard.

W: I got burned for that, though.

JS: You did?!

W: Yeah, a lot of people called me on that.

JS: Why?

W: Because it’s not good to call and yell at people and be like that.

JS: I disagree. That was fun for everyone involved. Even the guy on the phone, look at the story he got. You filled in a lot of air with that.

W: It wasn’t fun for me, though. It’s good now to laugh at it.

JS: Well then, it’s good! All good entertainment starts with a painful moment. And if you’re an artist you can take that pain and do something.

W: I learned from it. Although I wasn’t happy with certain things in my career, I checked some things in myself. It’s rough to try to act like this doesn’t affect me, so when things happen, why not let people know it’s affecting me and move on with my life? I’m more open with how I feel, like, “I don’t like this, but it’s not the end of the world, let’s keep moving.” I don’t think it’ll happen again.

JS: No, I don’t think it will. It’d be tough to beat. If it happened again you’d have to be even angrier.

W: I bowed out. One and done.

JS: It’s a good one, though. It was a classic.

Jerry, you dismiss the burden of celebrity. Wale does not. What advice would you give him to help him deal with it?

JS: This is why the universe put us together. I am here to relieve you of this burden.

W: I’m listening. I would love to hear this part.

JS: It’s just a choice.

W: I don’t understand the world’s fascination with celebrity. My admiration for people like you or Jay Z is because of your talent. Now, people are famous without having talent.

JS: There’s a fame need. We need people to look at or talk about to just fill the time. They say life is too short. It’s way too long! And we’re filling it in with a lot of fake stuff. Like wrestling. Like stars who have no talent!

Interesting sneaker choice, going with the Huaraches today, Jerry. Internet rumors say you have more than 500 pairs of sneakers.

Jerry Seinfeld: Nobody has 500 of anything.

Wale: I beg to differ.

JS: You have 500 sneakers?

W: Yeah. [Laughs.]

JS: Well, I never had that many.

W: I’ve lost 500 sneakers. I have two sneaker rooms, one in L.A. and one in Jersey. And I have what is essentially a sneaker room in my mother’s house.

JS: Why is it so important? To feel right?

W: I don’t know. White shoes make me happy. Remember? There’s a song on the album called “White Shoes.” On it, Jerry says he was wearing white shoes and a lady stopped him on the street and asked him why he liked white shoes. He said, “I don’t know. They make me happy.” The idea for the record was to call it “White Shoes” because, where we come from, it’s such a vanity thing. That’s the first thing a woman would notice on you, the shoes.

JS: They say you judge a man by his wife, his car, and his shoes. Those three things will tell you everything you need to know him. I got into white sneakers because of Billy “White Shoes” Johnson and Joe Namath. Those were the two guys wearing white in the NFL. All of a sudden, the game had a lot more flair.

Nicki Minaj UNVEILS “The Real Her” In COMPLEX Magazine’s December 2014/January 2015 Issue

0

 photo nmcomplex1.jpg

Nicki Minaj gets in touch with “the real her” in the upcoming December/January issue of Complex magazine. Find out what she said about retiring from the rap game and when she plans to become a mother inside…

 photo nmcomplex2.jpg

Arguably one of the hardest working females in Hip Hop right now, Nicki Minaj isn’t showing signs of slowing down any time soon. And for her newest feature, Nicki (and her girls) is gracing COMPLEX magazine's December 2014/January 2015 issue, including another fierce spread to add to the many magazine pictorials she has recently slayed.

As fans patiently await her delayed third studio album The Pinkprint (which she dubs her most personal album yet), the 31-year-old raptress has been on her grind, working the promo trail for her new project. The NYC raptress has been busy annihilating magazine covers, offering up her thoughts in interviewsand dropping singles from her forthcoming LP. Days ago, she teased fans with behind-the-scenes shots of her, Lil Wayne and Drake on the set of her new video “ONLY."

With everthing moving at the speed of light, there’s no doubt Nicki isn’t receiving much sleep these days. And to further prove how much she’s sleep deprived, the Young Money MC struggled to stay awake in yet another interview.

For the November 2014 GQ cover story, Nicki could barely stay keep her eyes open, dozing off at the drop of a dime. And this interview was no different. Before getting to her burning questions, Complex writer Lauren Nosteo points out during her sitdown with YMCMB’s first lady, Nicki could barely keep her eyes open, answering her questions with her head tilted back and eyes half closed. Get some rest Nick!

In the COMPLEX cover story, Nicki dishes on the misconceptions surrounding her new album The Pinkprint (dropping Dec. 15th), the guilt she struggles with as a result of fame, retiring from the rap game, when she plans to become a mother, her current relationship with her family and more.

Here are the highlights:

What’s behind your more natural look and your street singles reminiscent of earlier “Mixtape Nicki”?
I didn’t go back to “Mixtape Nicki.” That’s how [members of the media] feel, but that’s not what I’ve done. I’ve never stopped rapping; I’ve never stopped doing freestyles; I’ve never stopped doing remixes and features; I’ve never stopped raising the bar lyrically. I understand and respect people’s opinions when they hear me do certain things and say she’s “going back,” but I haven’t gone back, I’ve moved forward. I’ve always been evolving.

You’ve said The Pinkprint will be your most personal album yet. What are you addressing about your past and present that you haven’t before?
My family, loss, death, guilt…. I’ve struggled with a lot of guilt.

Guilt over what?
When you’re working and you’re busy and you’re successful, no matter what, something suffers, whether it’s your relationship with your mother, your relationship with your whole family, not being able to go to your brother’s graduation…. Certain things suffer and take the back burner, not because they’re on the back burner in your heart but because the world just moves so quickly. A lot of people, when they’re chasing their dreams, they have to leave people they love. A lot of artists feel that guilt but they don’t express it.

Has your relationship with your family suffered?
Yes, because I feel like I’m the voice of reason in my family and I’ve always taken control and tried to lead and tried to be the one to help my family stay on the right path. When I’m not there, and something doesn’t work out, I always think to myself, “If I was there, this wouldn’t have happened.”

Jay Z’s The Blueprint inspired the title The Pinkprint and the idea of laying the blueprint for female rappers to come. What similarities do you see between you right now and Jay circa The Blueprint?
I can’t. I have no idea what he was doing before The Blueprint dropped. It’s not that literal. People keep asking me about Jay’s The Blueprint and they think I’m doing something like that. I made reference to The Blueprint because Jay is the biggest rapper of our time. The name of the album was inspired by Jay but not the body of work. I do think that it’s going to create new rules, though, in [the way] that [The Blueprint did].

In 2012, when you spoke with Miss Info for your last COMPLEX cover, you said, “In five years, ideally, I’d like to be married and have kids.” This year, you said that the end goal is to make $500 million and do five albums. Would you retire after five albums and just have a family?
Yeah. I won’t use the word “retire” but I would use the word “vacation”—because I don’t believe in vacations, I don’t believe in holidays. I have to put out all six of my albums, contractually. After the fifth, I’ll probably have my baby. I wonder if I’m going to be one of those women who balances my child with a career. I always said, “When I have my baby, it’s going to be all about my baby.” I don’t want the child feeling like they don’t have all of my attention, so I always said, “I’m going to take a little break.” But we’ll see.

 photo mistydoc.jpg

We have the deets on two brand new shows coming to OXYGEN and VH1. Find out what ballerina Misty Copeland’s new series is about and the low down on a new VH1 series titled, “Bye Felicia” when you go inside…

If you have been keeping up with the fabness that is Misty Copeland, you will be delighted to hear the ballerina bombshell has landed her own docuseries with OXYGEN.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, American Ballet Theatre soloist Misty Copeland will take center stage as she trains and mentors young ballerina hopefuls in NYC to help jumpstart their budding dance careers.

Here’s a synopsis on what we can expect:

As talented hopefuls from diverse backgrounds descend upon New York to take on the next major step in their ballet careers, who better to train and mentor them than Copeland — the renowned ballerina who herself has defied all odds and shattered boundaries by overcoming the cultural pressures of professional ballet. Copeland, who began taking ballet lessons on the basketball court of a Boys & Girls Club at age 13 and was considered a prodigy, made history by becoming the second African-American female soloist in the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. With the opportunity of a lifetime and chance to catapult to the top of the ballet world, these aspiring dancers' passion, commitment and hard work will be center stage in Misty’s Master Class.

The show is using the working title "The Misty Copeland Project". No official date for the premiere has been set.

This new television series is yet another big feat to add under Misty's belt. We told you about the upcoming biopic that will be based on the fab chick’s bestselling memoir "Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina”. The Under Armor spokeswoman will also make her American debut in “Swan Lake” with the Washington Ballet at the Eisenhower Theater on April 9th. Work!

We're here for anything that involves Misty.

Also coming to tv....

"Bye Felicia!", the famous line from one of our fave throwback films Friday, will get a new meaning as the title of a brand new show coming to VH1. And it's coming to a television near you...soon.

 photo byef2.jpg

Two Atlanta life-coaches, Deborah Hawkes and Missy Young, have teamed up to “coach” white women in L.A. to offer up, what they call, tough, motherly love in hopes of bettering their current life situations. Yep…another show about black women “assisting” white women in areas they need “help” with. Remember LIFETIME's "Girlfriend Intervention"?

In a press release about the upcoming series, it reads:

White women of LA are getting a serious confidence boost and a little dose of reality with the series premiere of "Bye Felicia!," premiering Tuesday, December 9 at 9PM. This 8-episode, hour long series follows Atlanta-based life coaches Deborah Hawkes and Missy Young as they set out to help white girls across the Los Angeles area. Each closed-ended episode aims to empower two different women who could use a dose of honesty in order to turn their lives around. Hoping to impart their unique experience and wisdom through motherly tough love, Deb and Missy teach these women to say hello to their better selves and goodbye to Felicia.
