Well, this is a doozy.  Amidst a stom of controversy, Zendaya Coleman has now backed out of playing her dream role of Aailyah in the upcoming Lifetime biopic.  Deets inside...

Just hours before she's set to hit the 2014 BET Awards tonight as a nominee for the Young Star Award, Zendaya Coleman's rep has confirmed shes has pulled out of the Aaliyah project!

As for the reason, it seems Disney star Zendaya isn't feeling the way Lifetime is going getting the movie done.  According to E! News, Zendaya's rep cited production issues, including problems obtaining the rights to Aaliyah's music.  In a statement to the network, the rep said:

"Zendaya is no longer involved in the project....Aaliyah has always been an inspiration to Zendaya.  She was honored to portray her and pay tribute to her. If she is going to do it, she wants to do it right."

Just tlast week, Zendaya revealed on "Access Hollywood" her excitement about the project:

"We haven't started production or anything. But the family was my number one concern. My important thing about this was the mother & the brother... and that Lifetime reached out. I didn't feel comfortable until they did. So they're working on that and reaching out to the family to make sure everything's ok. I wrote a letter, a whole bunch of things. I've been an Aaliyah fan my entire life. I auditioned like anyone else and I got cast in the part. I want it to be something [the family] is proud of and what she would be proud of. It's a Lifetime movie. So it's just to honor her. And to show how incredible she is and the things she was able to do."
 

Looks like "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B" biopic will have to go back to the drawing board to find a new leading lady.  The movie was set to chronicle the short life of the late R&B star, her controversial relationship with R.Kelly, her rise to fame, and her tragic death.

BET host Keshia Chante recently spoke out about turning down the role because she also felt like the movie was not being done correctly.  Lifetime has yet to comment.

New talk show queen KeKe Palmer mixed things up in a super daring double thigh-cut out white and gold Alon Livne dress.

KeKe’s new talk show “Just KeKe" premieres on BET tomorrow June 30th at 5 P.M. ET/PT right before “106 & Park.”  Looks like this 20-year-old bringing us back to the future.  You feelin' it?

She interviewed celeb guests as they made their way down the red carpet joining hosts Bow Wow (who know goes by Shad Moss), Keshia Chante, Adrienne Bailon and style expert Lloyd Boston.

Kae rocked a shredded custom designed dress and we’re not too sure if we’re feeling her look.  Actually, we know we're not.

Former “My Wife And Kids” actress Jennifer Freeman hit the carpet in a new EXTRA blonde ‘do and a pink Michael Costello couture gown. She was almost unrecognizable.

“RHOA” star Kenya Moore hit the red carpet in all of her "Gone With The Wind" fabulousness. Ms. Twirl rocked an orange floor-length Victoria Beckham gown.

“Love That Girl” star Tatyana Ali and her twins hit the carpet in a red Walter Mendez gown. Chick was trying to keep cool in all of that heat.  Not mad at it.

“Instant Mom” actress Holly Robinson Peete was beautiful in a sherbet one-shouldered Elisabetta Franchi gown and clutch.

And the Murphy girls slayed the red carpet. When they’re not bonding on the beach, Bria and Shayne Murphy are flaunting their fit bods, taking notes from their hot mother Nicole Murphy. 

Bria hit the carpet in a custom silk two-piece she put together with her stylist.

Braveheart singer Ashanti channeled vintage Hollywood in a white lace cut-out Michael Costello fown paired with Tom Ford shoes. Say what you will about Ashanti, but she stays bringing BODY to the red carpet.

“Top Model” chick Eva Marcille got white hot showing her post-baby bod in a cut-out Sin Couture gown. Hot.

Sexy singer Sevyn Streeter was her usual risk-taker self rocking a white cut-out/high-split skirt and matching flowy top.  One gust of wind though...

Pharrell opened the 2014 BET Awards with an awesome performance of "Come Get It Bae" featuring the student of #BaeUniversity.  During the performance, he brought out Missy Elliott who did "Pass That Dutch."  It's the first time we've seen Missy E. perform live on an awards show in a long time.  Welcome back.

Pharrell's "Happy" won Video Of The Year and he also won for "Best Male R&B Artist".

Sunday night at the Nokia Theater, the men made the hot carpet (literally, it was like 100 degrees out there) even hotter.

Diggy Simmons flossed with his Gucci boots, Marc Jacobs watch and tailored Sandro suit.

John Legend was there to perform his own set (where he brougt out Jhene Aiko) and the Lionel Richie tribute.

Speaking of Lionel, he schooled the audience during his own Lifetime Achievement tribute video.  Legendary.

T.I. got his model stance on with the sweater tied around his neck.  His wife Tiny was indeed there though, so it seems they're on the makeup trail.

Nelly kept it sexy in all white.  These cheetah loafers though...gotta love the flare.

Singer Kem and comedian Tony Rock (who also was there to support his brother, host Chris) were suited up.

Juicy J rocked the pre-show with his medley of recent hits...but he looked like somebody's daddy when he hit the carpet afterwards.

The 2014 BET Awards went down last night at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. and after the show, a slew of after parties kicked off around Hollywood.

After describing her near death experience and shading fellow female raptress Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj trekked it to Belasco Theatre to host her exclusive VIP BET Awards after party (sponsored by Myx Fusions Moscato).

Coming up in September, Nicki will be taking her talents overseas to headline the Dinokeng One Tribe Festival in Africa.

“LAHH ATL” star Stevie J and reality TV show creator Mona Scott-Young sipped some Myx Fusions bubbly as they partied.

Former Immature/IMX group member Marques Houston proved to be a ladies man as he snapped a pic with some of the MYX girls.

"Let's Stay Together" cutie Christian Keyes got in on the girl-action.

And actor Clifton Powell hit the carpet with some MYX chicks as well.

Fun times.

At another BET after party….

After hitting the stage alongside Chris Brown and breaking up mics at 2014 BET Awards last night, Weezy made his way to Playhouse to party it up with Christina Milian, Breezy, Karrueche and Charli Baltimore.

Newly single Christina Milian seems unfazed by her recent split with fiancé Jas Prince. Chick has been on the party scene heavy, which seems to be giving her solace to keep her mind off of her recent break-up.

After rocking the stage at the 2014 BET Awards, Chris Brown and his girl Karrueche partied it up at Playhouse. And quite possibly, a little too much. Breezy was escorted out of the Hollywood club with the assistance of two friends.

And he was taken to a car with Kae waiting inside (above) as he made his way through screaming fans and paparazzi. Let’s HOPE he isn’t going back to the old Breezy.

Still dressed in her silver Balmain mini dress, Charli Baltimore also hit the party scene.

Meek Mill, Juicy J, T-Pain and more hit Supperclub for a BET Awards after party.

Philly native Meek Mill hopped in the DJ booth for an impromtu set with DJ B.A.D.

“Dark Horse” rapper Juicy J hosted the event with Busta Rhymes (not pictured) with a big bottle of Ace of Spades in hand.

And T-Pain hopped on the mic to perform a few of his hits.

Oh, Hey Game! It was reported that there was a shooting outside of the club supposedly aiming at Game’s car. Luckily, no one was hurt.

And last but not least...

Rapper Young Jeezy (who’s gearing up for the release of his new album Seen It All) was fresh in all-white as he was spotted leaving NOBU nightclub in West Hollywood.

And Adrienne Bailon (who will be a co-host on "The Real" coming September 15th) kept it fab in a cobalt blue dress and her signature bun as she left NOBU.

After releasing her new single “She” (where she sings about lusting after another woman), Keyshia Cole made her way to the 2014 BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. Although she didn’t walk the red carpet, she did take the stage to introduce a performance by a member of BET’s Music Matters program. And she decided to rock a haute couture mini by Dar Sara complete with long, flowy curls and dainty jewelry.

But Ashanti worked the red carpet in the heavily decorated Dar Sara number first at the 56th annual GRAMMY Awards that took place the Staples Center back in January. Shanti completed her look with a cropped, wavy blonde ‘do, a pair of crystal ankle cuff Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and Nanis Italian jewelry.

Zapped star Zendaya Coleman was spotted at an LA book launch with her father, who confirmed the reasons she left the planned Aaliyah-biopic.  Find out what he said inside....

Zendaya Coleman, whose recent film Zapped became the highest rated film of 2014, attended the Letters To The Men I Have Loved book launch dinner in Los Angeles with her father/bodyguard Kazembe Ajamu on Sunday.

Wearing a cute pink top with matching a skirt and black Saint Laurent Paloma heels, Zendaya kept it cute despite all the tension in her career.  She created a wave of controversy when she signed on to play Aaliyah in LIFETIME's planned movie THEN abruptly pulled out of production. 

Kazembe, who's very protective of his daughter and her image, posted a few Tweets on Monday, explaining Zendaya's abrupt departure.  He blamed the film's production values and shot down rumors that Zendaya backed out because of her skin tone. (Read from bottom to top)

LIFETIME, who seemed to have high hopes for the film, also tweeted their disappointment:

While we were looking forward to the film, we're pleased to learn that Zendaya didn't drop out over the "too light-skinned" comments.  Well LIFETIME......to quote Aaliyah, "If at first you don't succeed...."

TLAM2 landed the #1 spot at the box office it’s opening weekend (raking in $33M) and she’s also starring in 50 Cent’s new STARZ series, "Power." As she pursues her acting career, she has become everyone’s favorite BFF.

A$AP Rocky and his A$AP crew also cleaned up in their uptown style for GQ. When asked about Harlem’s swag, "F**kin Problems" rapper A$AP Rocky said, “Harlem has always been known for its swagger and pizzazz. I get my high-end look downtown, but my street style comes from uptown.”

No wonder him and his supermodel girlfriend Chanel Iman have so much in common.

So somebody’s mad. And it seems to be over the winner of the “Best Group” category at the 2014 BET Awards. Young Money took home the award beating Tank, Tyrese& Ginuwine (TGT) and Tank’s pissed! Find out what he had to say when you go inside….

The 2014 BET Awards have come and gone but it seems it’s still fresh on the minds of some of its nominees. One in particular…R&B singer Tank.

Tank’s group TGT (consisting of him, Tyrese and Ginuwine) were defeated by the Young Money team in the “Best Group” category. And Tank is upset…and confused over it.

With their debut album Three Kings debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, Tank is trying to figure out how Young Money won the best group category when they’re not even a real group and the hypocrisy behind it all. The R&B crooner claims he didn’t even want the award but rather for the real winner to win the award (which we assume would be TGT according to him).

He rants:

Meet Maya Peterson, the high school student who was ousted from her role as student body president after pics of her "mocking" white male students surfaced online.  It's causing an uproar online, likely because it all went down at the most expensive school in the country.

SPEAK ON the school's actions inside....

Maya Peterson, above, is the former student body president at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey.  It's the most expensive high school in America with tuition reportedly topping $53,000 year!

Before we proceed, let's point out why Maya stands out among her peers. 1. She is one of a handful of black students. 2. She's openly gay. 3. Her family paid her tuition in full. 4. She was the FIRST black female student body president

Now for the main event. Maya was removed from her position after her classmates began circulating the pic above. According to an article on Buzzfeed, Maya says she took the pic as a joke because she was questioned about senior photos, where she and 10 friends - all of whom were black - raised their hands in a 'Black Power' salute.

So....Maya posted her pic--wearing a Yale sweatshirt and carryng a hockey stick--which she says is a typical 'Lawrenceville boi.'  She added hashtags like '#romney2016,' '#confederate,' and '#peakedinhighschool.'

In explaining the photo, Maya said, 'Yes, I am making a mockery of the right-wing, confederate-flag hanging, openly misogynistic Lawrentians,...If that’s a large portion of the school’s male population, then I think the issue is not with my bringing attention to it in a lighthearted way, but rather why no one has brought attention to it before…'

She added,

'I understand why I hurt people’s feelings, but I didn’t become president to make sure rich white guys had more representation on campus,' she told the website. 'Let’s be honest. They’re not the ones that feel uncomfortable here.'

Now....here's where the ish comes in. Maya was told she had to resign or face disciplinary action because she offended the people she was elected to represent.  In fact, one of her classmates said, 'You’re the student body president, and you’re mocking and blatantly insulting a large group of the school’s male population.'

Is wearing a Yale sweatshirt and carrying a hockey stick strictly "white male" attributes or negative connotations.  We all know BLACK FACE is.   But are these things equally "offensive"?

So here are our questions:

1.  Was the school justified in ousting her from her position because of photos deemed "offensive" by classmates?

2.  Can we call a college sweatshirt and a piece of sporting equipment "culturally offensive"?

After more than two years of research, Nike is ready to debut a revolutionary new bra collection and Nike Pro 360 Fit System and they've tapped WNBA star Skylar Diggins as a spokesmodel.

Since signing with Roc Nation Sports, we seen Skylar turn up in several ad campaigns.  She told the South Bend Tribune, “It was funny, because people were asking me, after seeing all the stuff I did, ‘Do you play basketball anymore?’”

Well this certainly had us cackling. Over the weekend, Erykah Badu crashed a live news broadcast in New York. And in the midst of the reporter shooting his segment, Ms. Badu tried to steal a kiss! But he wasn’t having it. Peep the funny exchange inside…

So it seems as if Erykah Badu loves to keep a trick up her sleeve. When she isn’t offering up sex advicevia Twitter, the Givenchy ambassador is “video bombing” live newscasts.

Over the weekend, Mario Diaz of New York station PIX 11 was reporting the latest updates on the recent arrest of "Transformers" actor Shia LaBeouf. Ms. Badu spotted the news reporter and did what a lot of people do when they’re trying to get their quick 15 seconds of local fame…make faces and walk aimlessly in the background.

After walking past the camera a few times while smiling in her top hat, the 43-year-old singer tried to kiss the news anchor who quickly shoved her away and kept reporting the news. He then referenced Ms. Badu as a "fan" who tried to kiss him. Ha!

Track and Field has a new "Queen"....... last name Harrison.  Come inside and meet the American hurdler and sprinter who's bringing style, sex appeal and GREAT hair to the sport.  And of course, major talent.

We love fresh faces of YBF folks who are slaying their respective fields.  Stepping up to the hurdle with style, flair and class, meet Queen Harrison....track and field has a new superstar.  Born in Loch Sheldrake, New York and raised in Richmond, Virgina, Queen is gearing up for the 2016 Olympics and has been killing the competition in the meantime.

This past weekend, Queen caught some eyes and set Twitter on fire while competing at the USA Championships in California after placing second.  And she even beat out Olympians like LoLo Jones.

While she was prepping for the London games in 2012, she became injured and was controversially disqualified at the Olympic trials.  But she's back and ready for the spotlight.  Peep her pics (and her LOVE for hair):

She also competed in the 400 meter hurdles at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Among her many accolades, she won The Bowerman, the "Heisman of Track and Field" in 2010.

And Ms. Harrison is truly a "Queen" on track. Among her numerous accolades, she also was the first woman to win both the 100m and 400m hurdles titles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. 

On Instagram, followers are treated to Queen's various "GAME FACE" posts and make no mistake....she is always BEAT for a competition.  Eyes popping, lips popping, and hair flowing.  And winning. We like it.
