Oh yes!  We're totally loving Janelle Monae's curly 'do at yesterday's Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.  The YBF chick chatted up FUSE tv and Revolt TV after her big performance, and rocked a rare 'do topped off with a cute hat and a moto-chic look:

But beforehand when she took the stage, the Electric Lady was her usual self with her hair in her signature poof and her black & white uniform:

Such a cutie either way.

And the headliner for the night was Kanye West.  He had the new Mrs. West right by his side carrying a glass of wine for both him and her after his juiced up performance in front of 100,000 fans.

'Ye rocked a studded mask throughout his performance, just 1 day after his second honeymoon in Mexico.  Reportedly the twosome made a quick stop in L.A. to pick up their baby girl along the way.

Dude is never boring, we can say that.  P.S. Baby North West turns 1 tomorrow!

The YBF ladies were out and about in L.A. yesterday.  Check out pics of former "R&B Divas" Faith Evans and Kelly Price grabbing lunch, and KeKe Palmer keeping it chic and sexy at her movie premiere....

KeKe Palmer hit the screening for her new film Animal in L.A yesterday, hair whipped into a bun and skin glowing like perfection.  The upcoming BET talk show host rocked a cute Current/Elliot "The Mechanic" denim jumpsuit, Tom Ford Padlock Anke-Wrap Suede Pumps, her yellow Céline bag, and a printed zip-front Band of Gypsies bustier for her big event.

And we're loving it for her.

The 20-year-old singer/actress plays "Alissa" in the horror/thriller, out June 17th in limited theaters.  Here's the synopsis:

When plans for a weekend vacation hit a dead end, a group of close-knit friends find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory, pursued by a menacing, blood thirsty predator. Holed up in an isolated cabin, tensions mount as long-buried secrets are revealed. As the body count rises, the group must put their differences aside and fight for survival.

Hope her character defeats the horror movie odds and survives!  By the way, her new talk show "Just KeKe" debuts on BET June 30th.

Faith Evans and Kelly price hit up Villa Blanca restaurant in Beverly Hills, likely to rehash all the drama from "R&B Divas".  The twosome posed it up while leaving out, and took time to snap pics with all the ans who asked.

Kelly is obsessed with sneaker wedges it seems...in every color.  And Faith kept it sumery in a floral maxi dress and an oversized hat.

The ladies hopped in the car together after getting their pics snapped.  Wonder what's up next for them.  Because it doesn't seem either will be returning to the TvOne franchise...

Eve is now officially Mrs. Cooper! The raptress married her longtime man Maximillion Cooper today in Ibiza, Spain. And we've got all the details and the couple's first pic as a married couple inside.

Today in Ibiza, E-V-E got hitched to her man of three years, officially becoming Mrs. Maximillion Cooper. And stepmom to his two children.

The couple exchanged vows in a sunset beach wedding at 8p.m. (local time) in front of guests who were asked to dress in elegant beach attire.

The wedding was a culmination of a series of events spanning four days. According to Us Weekly:

On Wednesday, family and friends gathered for a fun night out at Pacha club.

The next day, they got the chance to catch a tan poolside while artists and DJs performed live for them at Destino.

On Friday, the couple hosted a champagne reception at their villa, and dined at LIO restaurant overlooking yachts and the Old Town.

 

And Saturday was the big day where Eve became a married woman, just six months after getting engaged.

She also celebrated her bachelorette party in April with a group of girlfriends, including Mashonda.

And just a little while before the big wedding, Maximillion held his annual Gumball 3000 race.  This year, the drivers and their luxury cars started in Atlanta and ended in Ibiza.

Father's Day has been called one of the most underrated holidays....but not here. We put Father's Day on par with the most important days of the year (and yes, fathers should be celebrated daily). Here are three things a father should teach his children:

1. How to lose. It's really not win or lose, it's win or learn! Show your child how to not internalize failure but to grow from it. There is no one smarter or better than you, there are only those who with practice and a good attitude became better at something they were once not good at.

2. How to win. Overconfidence keeps you from being receptive to new ideas and better ways of doing things. Never brag or gloat but know that good today doesn't always mean great tomorrow. Humility is not saying you are no good at something -- but just submission to the fact you don't know everything.

3. How to apologize. Every human being goofs things up, and the first step in making things right is owning up to your mistake and apologizing. I often tell my kids if they do something wrong and they tell me the truth and apologize without trying to cover it up, they won't get into trouble. But if they DO try to cover up what they've done wrong, consequences are guaranteed."

Lil' Wayne has made his blended family work.  You never REALLY read about his baby mama drama in the news!  Say what you will about him having so many baby mamas, but he has always shown he's a great dad.  Recently, he took his eldest daughter Reginae for a driving lesson:

Kanye & Kim Kardashian West celebrated the first birthday of their daughter North with a big outing in New York City.  Find out where they went inside...

After he performed at Bonnaroo, Kanye and Kim jetted off to NYC for the first birthday of little North West.  The newlywed parents spent the day at the Children's Museum of New York to mark the occasion. 

Following their day at the museum, the couple retired to their hotel room where they watched the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Miami Heat (104-87).

On Instagram, Kim posted an adorable snapshot of North and Kanye napping together after their busy day.  This was actually Kanye's second father's day as North was 1-day-old when Father's Day rolled around last year.  Kim wrote,"We played so hard they passed out while we were watching the game! Happy Father's Day to the best daddy in the world! The way you love our daughter and protect her makes me filled with so much love!"

Late last night, Kanye was spotted leaving the hotel following his day with Kim and North.  E! News reports that the Kardashians are throwing a huge bash for North in Los Angeles next week.

Drake behaved badly with a blunt AND rapper Wiz Khalifa over the weekend. Watch him "light up" inside and get the deets on Ice Cube's box office success.... 

Drake performed in Houston over the weekend and he did something he's never done before....smoked weed onstage!  He hit the stage in Houston at Warehouse Live (with special quest Wiz Khalifa) and he took a few pulls from Wiz's blunt.   His antics were a part of Houston Appreciation Weekend...and it looks like he appreciate's Houston's finest herbs. 

At the movies....

Ice Cube, who stars as Captain Dickinson in 22 Jump Street, helped make box office history over the weekend as the flick grossed $60 million, making it the second biggest for an R-rated comedy in history.  “22 Jump Street” nearly doubled the $36 million debut of its predecessor, 21 Jump Street. Congrats to Ice Cube! He's currently in production of the NWA-biopic that stars his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr.

In other entertainment news....

A while back we told you about a "beef" between Lil' Wayne and Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun.  You'll recall that Weezy posted a video that could easily have been interpreted as a threat.  Now...TMZ reports that the two have squashed their beef.  What happened? Sources close to Wayne say both men chalked up the beef to a huge misunderstanding and Wayne's protege Twist may have exaggerated some of the details that initially set Wayne off.   Good for them.

Reunited and it feels so good! Bobby Brown and his daughter Bobbi Kristina buried the hatchet for a special Father’s Day dinner, after not seeing eye-to-eye since Whitney Houston’s untimely death.

Bobbi Kris was ecstatic to see her father as she ran into his arms to greet him tweeting, “Hahaha I got a running start!..(: @KingBobbyBrown (:”

The two embraced and smiled for a cute father-daughter pic. He literally spit her out. Glad they reconnected.

Harvard business student Swizz Beatz spent his Father’s Day in Brooklyn viewing Kara Walker’s colossal “A Subtlety” sugar sphinx at the Domino Sugar Factory.

Swizz even caught up with the amazing Kara Walker and snapped a pic in front of her astonishing sculpture.

He later caught up with his boys Kasseem Jr., Prince and Egypt to spend the rest of his day surrounded by his boys. They cleaned up so nice...looking like mini GQ models!

Newlyweds Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss, who star on Bravo's reality tv spinoff "Kandi's Wedding", partied at Karma Bistro in Atlanta over the weekend.  

Kandi and Todd had a lot to celebrate as THEIR "RHOA" wedding spinoff has been the most successful of the franchise, topping the ratings of similar shows from Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes. 

Kandi partied with co-star Porsha Williams and her sister Lauren.  FYI:  ALL of the ladies from RHOA season 6 are returning for season 7. 

Porsha hugged it out with Kandi's business partner Don Juan.

The club was pack with nearly 1,800 patrons who came out the chill with the housewives.  Kandi's friends, interior decorator Tobey Renee Sanders and Carmon were also in the mix.

After hitting the stage with legendsPatti LaBelle and Gladys Knight at the Tony Awards, Fantasia stormed the stage at the 2014 Playboy Jazz Festival for the Hollywood Bowl in L.A.

Joining her to perform was mom-to-be Kelly Rowland who glowed in a black crop top and black slacks, posing it up backstage alongside Fantasia's manager Brian Dickens.

Fanny posed it up backstage with her girls in all black before opening her set with a remix to her hit "It's All Good."

And then she bought out Kelly Rowland to perform their hit “Without Me.” As Fantasia introduced the track, seems like she threw a little shade at her ex-boyfriend/baby daddy Antwaun Cook saying, “Wouldn’t that piss you off? I start dating you and now you’re a celebrity.” Bloop!

And Fanny got to "laying hands" on fans as she performed her set, finally getting the crowd up out of their seats. But that didn’t stop their auntie-niece weekend. Rih held her adorable infant niece close as she fed her and eventually rocked her to sleep.

Malia Obama just landed her very first job…and it’s way cooler than our first gig. Plus, Chris Brown has gotten rid of his graffiti filled mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Get all the deets inside…

As her father President Obama leads the free world, Malia Obama is chasing her own dreams after landing her very first gig.

The soon-to-be 16-year-old (who celebrates a birthday on July 4th) worked as a production assistant for a day on the set of an upcoming sci-fi series “Extant,” starring Halle Berry.

A source told The Wrap, “She helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take.”

Hmm…a future in Hollywood for little Miss Obama? Possibly.

The source also said Malia was tickled pink with her new gig as she laughed saying, “My first time. This is a big deal.”

Chris Brown’s neighbors can now rejoice. Breezy (above at the Def Jam Comedy Show in L.A.)has finally ditched his $1.5 million bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills AND his Beverly Hills condo.

According to TMZ, the swanky graffiti-laced Hollywood mansion, which he purchased back in 2011, is in escrow for $1.79 million. The “Loyal” singer has been bumping heads with his neighbors for his elaborate, out-of-control parties and the city of L.A. for painting the walls on the outside of his home with graffiti (which he eventually covered up), so he finally got rid of it.

Breezy also got rid of his luxe condo in Beverly Hills that was on the market for the last two years. He sold it for $1.5 million, the same price he paid for it.

Leah Pump, President and Founder of The Ladylike Foundation hosted several reality stars and Hollywood housewives at her scholarship luncheon for The LadyLike Foundation on Saturday.  Leah, an educator, shown above with famed director Debbie Allen, started the group in 2006 to "teach young women through the word of God, how to be virtuous and well- rounded."  This year, Debbie was the guest of honor.

Famed actress and activist Holly Robinson Peete hosted the event, held at the Luxe Hotel in LA.

Cookie Johnson, who started her own successful jeans company, posed with Leah (and we're sure she left a hefty check).

Former "Basketball Wives LA" star Laura Govan looked ready for the summer.

"Hollywood Exes" star and pastor's wife Sheree Fletcher was on hand to support the God-based organization.

"Castle" star Tamala Jones wore a form-fitting yellow dress.

New mom Eva Marcille didn't waste anytime dropping her baby weight.  Looking good Eva!

Leah took a "group-ie" with Sheree and Shamika Lawrence.

During the press line, Holly and Debbie posed with a group of young women from the organization while on the carpet. Leah, who "honored" Debbie during the ceremony posted this on Instagram:  "Mrs. @therealdebbieallen what an honor to have you grace our presence. You grace, class, and words of wisdom were phenomenal. You are truly a woman of excellence! Thank you for allowing us to honor you! #ladylike."

A new biopic is in the works for one of our absolute favorite R&B singers Aaliyah Haughton. And Zendaya Coleman has confirmed she will be playing the beautiful late singer. Get the deets inside…

Almost 14-years after her tragic death, a biopic chronicling the beautiful and talented Aaliyah Dana Haughton is finally in the works.

Disney actress/platinum-selling singer Zendaya Coleman has confirmed she will be playing Aaliyah in the Lifetime original movie with the working title AALIYAH: PRINCESS OF R&B.

Zendaya took to her Twitter expressing how much of an inspiration the "One In A Million" singer has been in her career and hopes to bring her to life in the movie.

Zendaya was spotted leaving BET’s 106 & Park earlier (above) and we wonder if host/ Canadian-born singer Keisha Chante congratulated her. You may or may not know that Keisha has been petitioning to play the "More Than A Woman" singer. Recently, she hinted at auditioning for the lead role on her Facebook and she often likes to show off her resemblence to the songbird, posting pictures of herself mimicking Aaliyah on Instagram.

The LIFETIME biopic (produced by Aaliyah Productions, Inc) will chronicle the "street but sweet" Aaliyah on her journey to the top of the music and movie charts becoming a global icon.

In the press release about the film:

The film follows the beautiful and talented performer's inspirational journey, from her debut on Star Search at the age of ten to the challenges she faced during her rise to become the Princess of R&B. On August 25, 2001, at the height of her popularity, her life was tragically cut short when a plane carrying the singer and some of her video crew crashed after takeoff from a Bahamian runway. Although just 22-years-old at the time of her death, Aaliyah continues to lead a legacy as Billboard's tenth most famous R&B artist of the past 25 years and one of the recording industry's most successful artists in history.

T.I.’s baby girl is officially a teenager! Over the weekend, Deyjah Harris celebrated her 13th birthday with her fam and friends. Peep the party pics inside….

All of T.I.’s children are growing up right before our eyes. And over the weekend, his baby girl Deyjah Harris celebrated her 13th birthday.

Although Deyjah’s official birth date isn’t until June 17th, the princess of the south celebrated the special milestone of becoming an official teenager at the Epic Lounge & Bistro in Atlanta surrounded by the entire Harris clan and friends.

Deyjah and her hot mama Ranniqua/Ms. Niko were all smiles as they posed with Deyjah’s decked out cake, including all of her favorite things such as her iPhone, Beats by Dre headphones and pink & blue J’s.  

O…and Tiny was there too (still ringless).

She came bearing gifts for her step-daughter but she made sure to steer clear of Tip during the party. Guess Mama Tip’s plea to have a serious talk with her son fell on deaf ears…

But Tiny did pose it up with her step-daughter and her mother Ms. Niko. Cute.

The beautiful birthday girl was all smiles with her oldest brother Messiah. Tip really has some strong genes.

The Kang of the South stopped for a few pics with his sons Messiah and Domani.

Deyjah's little brother King was spotted getting "inked" up.

Big sis Zonnique and baby bother Major were there to celebrate.

The new teen smiled as she posed alongside her Aunt Precious.

Now that Zendaya Coleman has been cast as the star of LIFETIME's upcoming Aaliyah-biopic, we've got the inside scoop on why casting director Twinkie Byrd thinks Zendaya is "One In A Million."  More inside....

TheYBF.com spoke exclusively with casting director, Twinkie Byrd, moments after we revealed that Disney-star Zendaya Coleman was chosen as the lead in Lifetime's upcoming Aaliyah-biopic. 

Tentatively titled,"AALIYAH: PRINCESS OF R&B", Twinkie says former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant Zendaya (pictured below leaving "106 & Park" yesterday) is the best choice for the role because she's a "triple threat."  And yes, she's also of mixed heritage.

Zendaya embodies everything you want in a Actress to play Aaliyah. She is a Poised, Professional, STRONG Actress (studied at California Shakespeare Theater and American Conservatory Theater). A Triple Threat Actor, Singer Dancer. She LOVES AALIYAH and will do a Wonderful Job! She is of mixed ethnicity. Her name is Bantu (Zimbabwe) meaning "To Give Thanks".

Let's not Hate on it but Congratulate! She is a GREAT CHOICE!

We're told that the rest of the film's casting will take place on location, in Canada, shortly before production begins.  In the meantime, Twinkie's also at work casting a new film for Tracy Edmonds& Nzingha Stewart named "The Ring."

Good news! Tracy Morgan’s condition is improving. His status has upgraded from critical condition to fair condition and his rep says his personality is starting to come back. Deets inside…

After the fatal car crash that left former “30 Rock” actor/comedian Tracy Morgan in intensive care, the comedian’s condition is finally improving.

According to his publicist, he was upgraded from critical condition to fair condition and he says Tracy’s personality is starting to come back.

In a statement Tracy’s rep confirms,

“Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement," publicist Lewis Kay said. "His personality is certainly starting to come back as well."

You’ll recall, Tracy Morgan and his entourage were traveling to NYC from a gig at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Delaware when a Wal-Mart tractor trailer slammed into the back of their limo bus on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Tracy, along with several others, was critcally injured and his good friend/comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair lost his life as a result. Tracy suffered a broken nose, a broken femur, broken ribs and a broken leg. One of the other injured victims Jeff Milea has also been upgraded to fair condition.

Georgia Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper was charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. The police report indicated he had not slept in the 24 hours leading up to the crash. Roper has pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied that he had not slept in the 24 hours before the crash.

Halle Berry is celebrating the premiere of her new show "Extant".  Check out the leading lady on the arm of her husband as they shut down the rocky marriage rumors, plus, Holly Robinson Peete and others are celebrating the premiere of the new flick Earth To Echo...

The premiere Of CBS Films' "Extant" at California Science Center went down in Los Angeles last night.  And the show's leading lady Halle Berry got all dolled up showing off that post baby body in her Louboutins with her husband Olivier Martinez.

First Daughter Malia Obama (who is an intern on the show for her very first job) obviously wasn't in attendance, but Halle showed up looking fab.

Hot. 

The Sci-Fi thriller, about Halle's character becoming mysteriously impregnated by a supernatural being, airs on July 2nd.  And she chopped it up with her boss, CBS' head honcho Les Moonves and his wife, "The Talk" co-host Julie Chen.

"Basketball Wives: LA" star Tami Roman was there showing off her sleek new bod:

Looking good Tami.  Her daughter, Jazz, just graduated from high school by the way.  And she's headed to Prairie View A&M University.

Elsewhere in L.A.:

Gorgeous gals Holly Robinson Peete and Mara Brock Akil posed it up at Holly's "Earth To Echo" special screening at the Pacific Theaters at The Grove. She hosted the special screening to benefit the HollyRod Foundation.

The actress posed it up with the movie's co-star Astro (remember him?) and her own son Rodney, Jr.  He's now taller than his mom!

Astro, who nabed a role in the summer family adventure flick, snapped a pick with "Power" star Naturi Naughton

And Laura Govan was there as well.  The movie hits theaters July 2nd.

Why did Kanye West take Kim Kardashian as his lawfully wedded wife?  Because she's the number one woman in the world and he only deals with the best!  It was that simple.   More about Kanye wanting the "Number Ones" of life inside.... 

You think you know Kanye West....but he's always dropping some semi-surprising eyebrow raising nuggets for us.  Ye, (shown above in Cannes with Steve Stoute and Ben Horowitz) recently participated in a talk entitled "Translation: Technology, Culture, and Consumer Adoption: Learning to Read the Cultural Landscape" held at the Palais des Festivals during the Cannes Lions Conference, the biggest advertising festival in the world.

During the discussion, the talented Kanye offered a glimpse into his world and how he arrives at decisions about music, fashion and even marriage.  He said:

‘Throughout my entire life because of the way my parents raised me, I was like “I have to work with the number one”

So how'd that play out in terms of music Kanye? ‘I can’t work with anyone but Jay Z because that’s the number one.'  Guess that shuts down the "beef" rumors brewing between the two.  Makes sense, right?

What about fashion? ‘I can’t represent any company but Louis Vuitton because that’s the number one.’

What about love: ‘I can’t be with any girl but Kim because that’s the girl I look at her pictures the most, I get turned on the most.’

Of course.  That's what's MOST important in a marriage.  Now....what would life be like if the world tried to deprive Kanye of having the best? 'It’s like Michaelangelo told he’s not allowed to carve with marble but told he’s got to use cement or something like that.‘

Another thing....Kanye believes that his "access" to getting the best is a step forward for civil rights because he's Black and now he, too, can have nice things too. "Before Obama, there was Jesse Jackson, there were different people, talking about blacks particularly in America that were not allowed to drink from the cleanest fountain, to work with the best resources."

Wanting to be "number one" also translated into Kanye's wedding photos too. During the talk, he revealed that it took him FOUR days to edit their first "official" wedding photo because“I still want my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz’s photos."

Ye' said Kim DID NOT want to wait a long time to upload the pic (no shocker there), but he convinced her otherwise.

"Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the number one person on Instagram, “We need to work on the colour of the flower wall”, or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci - and how important Kim is to the internet. ‘And the fact the number one most-liked photo [on Instagram] has a kind of aesthetic was a win for what the mission is, which is raising the palette. ‘It was a long time,...’

You can't be mad at him for always aiming to step up his game. With superficial ish and beyond....

The infamous showdown between Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore at the “RHOA” reunion taping had us all wondering if Porsha would be returning to the show. And now the “Flatline” singer has revealed that she will be retuning to the hit BRAVO reality series. Get the latest on her return inside…

Is Porsha Williams returning to “Real Housewives of Atlanta?” According to her…yes!

The “Flatline” singer has been keeping busy filling in as a co-host on The Ricky Smiley Morning Show for the summer. And the topic of her returning to “RHOA” came up where she confirmed she WILL be returning to show.

As you know, Ms. Porsha beat down her co-star Kenya Moore during the “RHOA” reunion taping which resulted in Kenya filing assault charges and Porsha having to turn herself into police. And not to mention, her first ever mugshot…which was uber glam by the way.

During the radio segment, it was announced that Ms. Porsha would be returning to the show. Despite her arrest, the “Flatline” singer said (referring to herself in third person) that she deserves another chance and that the fans are interested in her life so she should come back.

She said,

“I believe she deserves the opportunity. She should be able to come back. You know, people are interested in her life. I think it’s great for her.”
