The last time Serena won the trophy was in 2002 when she beat her own sister, Venus, in the finals. And she's also the last American to win the French Open.
All the extreme hard work paid off as the younger sis beat Maria 6-4, 6-4 in today's Finals in Paris on the outdoor clay courts. The second set was full of Aces and Serena slayed her way to the trophy. This makes for Serena's second French Open title and 16th Grand Slam singles title.
And once Serena took the stage as the champion, she addressed the crowd with her "champ speech"....totally in fluent french. That french boyfriend/coach of hers and the apartment she bought years ago in Paris have clearly paid off.

NFL superstar wide receiver Torrey Smith, who helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to victory at Superbowl 2013, is engaged to Chanel Williams. And earlier today, the happy couple released their engagement pics to The Baltimore Sun.
They posed for pics at the famed M&T Bank Stadium where Torrey's road to victory began.
On her Instagram page, Chanel and Torrey paid homage to one of his famous teammates in the above pic. She said, "Ray Lewis tribute! Lol" Loves it!

Kameelah "Meelah" Williams, who once fronted the 90's girl group 702, is rumored to be the latest "addition" to "R&B Divas: Atlanta". But our sources say it's not true. At least not yet. Get deets on the non denial/denial inside.....
The Atlanta rumor mill has been buzzing about a new addition to the "sanging" chicks of "R&B Divas: Atlanta". We've heard that Kameelah Williams, who rose to fame in the 90s as part of the group 702 ("Get It Together", "Steelo") will be joining the cast for season three.
For those who aren't too familiar with Kameelah and her personal life, she has a son with Musiq Soulchild and has been working on solo project in Atlanta, which may included a few tracks with Stevie J. And back in the day, Faith Evans once served as her mentor, with Kameelah singing on Faith's "Burning Up" single and appearing in the video.
We reached out to a source on the "R&B Divas: Atlanta" production team who told us,"There have been no additional cast members added to "R&B Divas: Atlanta". Meanwhile, Kameelah's manager told us that they could neither deny nor confirm her casting.
Hmmm....it sounds like Kameelah hasn't signed her contract yet or the producers are still "figuring out" her place on the show. Or maybe she's not doing it at all. You'll recall that the producers kept the additions of LaTocha Scott and Angie Stone under wraps for a long time before they officially confirmed them.
We'll keep our eyes peeled to see if she pops up during a cameo this season. Meanwhile, "R&B Divas: LA" is set to debut on TvONE July 10 and the "Atlanta" crew wraps up their season on June 19th.

We're sure many folks are going to having comments about Mariah and someone of her....aesthetic....playing a "field" slave....but this IS a Lee Daniels' film. It's supposed to make you question, wonder and debate. Not just say "Bish please."
In the film, Mariah will star alongside Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding Jr, Lenny Kravitz, Robin Williams and Jane Fonda.

Kanye talk about the paradox of his romantic side and why Steve Jobs' death will allow him to take over in some way. The "New Slaves" lyricist spent 3 days interviewing with NYT columnist Jon Caramanica, all while he was locked down in a Malibu recording studio compound finishing the Yeezy album. Here are the highlights:
On why he always demands people to crown him with a role in history: "I think you got to make your case. Seventh grade, I wanted to be on the basketball team. I didn’t get on the team, so that summer I practiced. I was on the summer league. My team won the championship; I was the point guard. And then when I went for eighth grade, I practiced and I hit every free throw, every layup, and the next day I looked on this chart, and my name wasn’t on it. I asked the coach what’s up, and they were like, “You’re just not on it.” I was like, “But I hit every shot.” The next year — I was on the junior team when I was a freshman, that’s how good I was. But I wasn’t on my eighth-grade team, because some coach — some Grammy, some reviewer, some fashion person, some blah blah blah — they’re all the same as that coach. Where I didn’t feel that I had a position in eighth grade to scream and say, “Because I hit every one of my shots, I deserve to be on this team!” I’m letting it out on everybody who doesn’t want to give me my credit."
On his beef with the Grammys: "I don’t know if this is statistically right, but I’m assuming I have the most Grammys of anyone my age, but I haven’t won one against a white person. But the thing is, I don’t care about the Grammys; I just would like for the statistics to be more accurate."
On how his life struggles (like his mother dying in 2007) have affected his music: "Creative output, you know, is just pain. I’m going to be cliché for a minute and say that great art comes from pain. But also I’d say a bigger statement than that is: Great art comes from great artists. There’s a bunch of people that are hurt that still couldn’t have made the album that was super-polarizing and redefined the sound of radio."
On knowing he was going to be a star: "I knew when I wrote the line “light-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson” [from the song “Slow Jamz"] I was going to be a big star. At the time, they used to have the Virgin music [stores], and I would go there and just go up the escalator and say to myself, “I’m soaking in these last moments of anonymity.” I knew I was going to make it this far; I knew that this was going to happen."
On his girlfriend Kim Kardashian: "Any woman that you’re in love with or that loves you is going to command a certain amount of, you know, energy. It’s actually easier to focus, in some ways....I’m the type of rock star that likes to have a girlfriend, you know? I’m the type of soul that likes to be in love and likes to be able to focus. And that inspires me."
On the backlash he received after appearing on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and had Kim throw out her while closet:"That was from a place of love. It’s hard when people read things in a lot of different ways. You know, the amount of backlash I got from it is when I decided to not be on the show anymore. And it’s not that I have an issue with the show; I just have an issue with the amount of backlash that I get. Because I just see like, an amazing person that I’m in love with that I want to help."
On his impending fatherhood: "One of the things was just to be protective, that I would do anything to protect my child or my child’s mother. As simple as that....I just don’t want to talk to America about my family. Like, this is my baby. This isn’t America’s baby."
On the texture of the music on Yeezus: "It’s like trap and drill and house. I knew that I wanted to have a deep Chicago influence on this album, and I would listen to like, old Chicago house. I think that even “Black Skinhead” could border on house, “On Sight” sounds like acid house, and then “I Am a God” obviously sounds, like, super house. "
On his impact on pop culture:“I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it’s like when Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z.”

He revealed that he and LeBron and cool and that LeBron called him in the hospital after he suffered a seizure. And when asked about the "ban" he said, “They did tell me that I’m allowed back whenever I want, but I don’t think they want me there, so I won’t make it hard on either of us."

So Canadian model Leyla Ghobadi is making a major scandalous accusation saying she has had sex with Kanye West....while his baby mama Kim K. has been pregnant....and hit her up for sex as recently as last weekend. And Kanye allegedly told her his relationship with Kim is strictly for publicity. Juicy deets inside...
It was only a matter of time before Kanye's "alleged" jumpoffs started flying out the cut faster than an about-to-be-repossessed Bugatti. And the jumpoff who gets the "I'm first to come out about my ho-liciousness!" crown is Leyla Ghobadi, a model from Canada.
Chick told Star Magazine that she first met Kanye at his concert in Atlantic City at Revel back in July of 2012. Apparently he spotted her in the crowd whie she was dancing it up, and had a member of his entourage go into the crowd to ask her to meet him backstage and for drinks in Revel's HQ nightclub. This dude was about to do his shenanigans in a public place like that nightclub--that's all open in the middle of the hotel? Chile. #HeDontCurr
By the way, Kim was THERE in the VIP balcony section of Kanye's concert that night. Not sure how Kanye expected to get it in with a random jumpoff while his GIRLFRIEND was there in his room, but the way Kim seems to like his disrespectful lyrics toward her, she might have been OK with being ordered to leave the room for a minute.
Leyla claims she told Kanye "No" because it was "too rushed." Oh really? But apparently the NEXT night was less of a rush because she took Kanye up on his offer to meet up after his Revel show the very next night. Not sure if Kim was still around that night.
Leyla says they ended up making out and next thing she knew they were naked and having sex.
She also says Kanye told her that his relationship with Kim was just 'for publicity and nothing serious'. Because jumpoffs have hearts and she wouldn't have done it otherwise....apparently.

According to TMZ, 2 Chainz posted footage on the social media site VINE on June 9 and June 10 (before the arrest) which show some questionable behavior. In one photo, he's seen puffing on a joint. And since folks still forget sometimes weed is illegal, they're now blasting it on social networks. You'll recall that TSA caught him at the airport with less than an ounce of weed (plus he tweeted about how good the weed in San Francisco was).
And in another photo, there's a table stacked with big "Polar Pop" cups and what appears to be a bottle of Promethazine! Very sloppy.
As of now, the rapper has been was freed after posting $10K bail yesterday and after a bumpy week (which included a robbery), he used Twitter to tell fans,"Nobody took Anything from me, i didn't get shot, I'm not in jail, Don't know wut else to tell ya. Sorry if I disappointed anyone, maybe next time."
We just think this ish looks really trifling. It's one thing to engage in bad behavior, it's a whole other thing to promote it on social media. Now these pics may really bite him. Good luck pleading "Not Guilty" 2 Chainz.....

According to TMZ, Adam Swickle, the lawyer who was on the receiving end of Chad's booty tap, filed docs claiming that Chad meant no disrespect, and it was simply an athelete's way of praising someone. While that's all fine and good...Chad is missing the fact that he shouldn't have been celebrating a damn thing at all....when you in front the judge about a probation violation on a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE. Calm down and fall back when in court.
Now, a hearing has been set for Monday, and we'll all find out if the judge has had a change of heart. So far, public opinion seems to be on Chad's side as most folks think he's didn't deserve 30 days in jail. Us? Yes, it wasan excessive punishment. But we do believe the judge did it for a reason of setting an example of how people should act in a courtroom. Let's not celebrate anything while dealing with a domestic violence case. Cool? Cool.

Earlier this year, the execs over at H&M felt the wrath of "Team Mrs. Carter" after they apparently tried to photoshop her famous curvesduring their swimsuit campaign. Now, Robert Cavalli has also slipped some photoshop trickery into the mix.
This week, the team over at Roberto Cavalli raised a few eyebrows after a press release of Beyonce wearing a gown they designed for The Mrs. Carter Show world tour went viral.
The document showed a rendering of Beyonce in the Cavalli gown, but with a slightly distorted body image. Some folks are saying it was a flat out insulting and horrible photoshop job.
In their defense, the brand did include actual images of Bey in the gown (showing off the finished product). And the controversial image could simply be a cartoonish sketch (and sketches almost always show stick thin bodies in order to emphazize the clothes).
The company responded to the "controversy" with a statement saying, 'Our purpose has always been to portray Beyoncé as the strong and beautiful woman she is. It has been a good working process and a close cooperation. Both parties are happy with the images.'
Beyonce's camp has not spoken out about the controversy (after the pic surfaced on Tuesday) and we don't think they will. It seems pretty clear that this was a caricature/artists' rendering of the garment itself that happens to be for Beyonce.

Earlier this morning, "Lose To Win" singer Fantasia chatted it up with Kathie Lee and Hoda on the fourth hour of TODAY. Fantasia, who's been doing concert dates with famed opera singer Andrea Bocelli, promoted their upcoming performance with the New York City Orchestra later this evening at the Prudential Center.
During the interview, Fantasia talked about singing in Italian, raising her kids as a single mom and using her testimony to inspire fans. She also announced that she'll return to Broadway in October 2013, but kept project deets under wraps.
During one light-hearted moment of the segment, Fantasia commented on Kathie Lee's jewelry and Kathie Lee responded by immediately taking the necklace off and giving it to her as a gift.
Four-time U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Sanya Richards-Ross has signed on for a new WE tv original docu-series, entitled “Sanya’s Glam & Gold.” Premiering Thursday, July 25th at 10pm ET/PT, the show will follow the track superstar's fast-paced life and high-profile marriage to NFL star Aaron Ross (who's won two Super Bowl Championships).
The show was filmed primarily in Austin, Texas, which serves as the homebase for the couple who met in college at the University of Texas and married in 2010. Speaking about the show in a WE tv press release, Sanya said,
“I’m so thrilled to have this opportunity to open up my life and marriage to viewers and to introduce them to my incredibly supportive, and let’s be honest, sometimes-crazy family.

Meanwhile, Jessica struggles with being the single mom of a rebellious teenager - Josie has been acting out and her grades are slipping. Mayte, who has been desperate to have a child, makes plans to adopt a one-year-old baby. The others worry that everything is happening too fast - what if something goes wrong and Mayte loses another child? Finally, Shamicka's wounds from her divorce are still fresh - her divorce from Martin Lawrence was just recently finalized. Every day brings new challenges that only a Hollywood Ex can understand, but thankfully the others are there to help her find her way.
We're wondering why Daphne Wayans wasn't included in the synopsis. Did she make the final cut? We heard rumbles producers may have put her of the show early. We shall see.

Earlier today, the Leyla chick created a Twitter page and defended herself against Kanye & Kim's PR teams calling her a liar. Here's some snapshots from the first account she created:
Then later on today, she deleted that account and created a new one (that we haven't 100% verified is her but it seems that way). She said "My old one hate too much hatred coming in!" Shocker.
While Leyla says she's not revealing her cheating sexcapades with Kanye for fame, she says she revealed it because she "started to feel guilty." And she's also requesting people to pretty much make her Twitter account blow up:

With all that said, we can't help but actually believe this chick's story to a certain extent (wouldn't be surprised if she embellished for fame purposes). It definitely wouldn't be the first time Kanye cheated on anyone, and stories like this are pretty much the norm in the industry.

Earlier in their pregnancy, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez revealed that they were expecting a boy, but we never knew if the kid would have an American passport or not. And now that a judge has grounded her here (for Nahla's sake), Olivier has confirmed that they'll proudly raise their son here in America. During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Olivier said, “My son will be an American, but I remain French.”
Olivier, who's serving as the honorary president of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival, remarked to the magazine that there are some big differences between the French and American cultures....especially on the red carpet. He said,
"I’m French — it’s less important. Meaning, I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there — but I’m still a foreigner."
Lucky for us, Olivier is willing to playing ball with the Americans and walk the red carpet with his beautiful fiancee on his arm. He shrugged,"It’s not the first one, not the last [I've been on]...It’s part of the job.”

We previously reported on Telepix has teaing up with several FOX affiliates to announce a younger, hipper version of "The View". And now, the first preview has hit the net.
Starring singer/reality star Tamar Braxton, actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, TV personality Adrienne Bailon, comedian Loni Love and fashion expert Jeannie Mai, the new chatfest, "The Real" is set to debut in several select cities on July 15.
The roundtable style show will feature the five busy career ladies dishing on everything from the latest celeb gossip to their views on love, sex and relationships.
In her cast bio, "The One" singer, Tamar Braxton, said she hopes fans will get to see a different side of her when the show kicks off on July 17th.
"A lot of people think, because they see me on ‘Braxton Family Values’ as the youngest of five sisters, that I’m this brat and I’m just spoiled, but on this show I get to be a woman. I get to give you my real opinion about life, about pop culture, and finally be identified as just a regular lady."
And actress Tamera Mowry-Housley thinks the show's diverse cast is what will really distinguish them from other programs on television.
"I love to be traditional and just because you are conservative or a traditional person doesn’t mean you have to be boring! …The greatest thing about America is its diversity and this show reflects that diversity. No matter who you are, there is someone at this table that will be speaking for you."

Sparks flew during the R&B Divas Atlanta Season 2 Reunion taping on Tuesday night at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.
Old fights were revisited and new friendships were solidified when Executive Producer Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson, Angie Stone, Keke Wyatt, Monifah Carter and LaTocha Scott all joined Joe Clair to dish on the past season.
On womane who was missing in action was Faith Evans, who chose to skip the reunion to celebrate her 40th birthday. Does this mean she won't be back next season?
Singer Nicci Gilbert, who spent most of the season battling Syleena Johnson looked like an angel in white for the taping.
We wonder if her outfit was a part of the "Curvato" collection?
Nicci even blessed the reunion with a vocal selection. Hmmm...we wonder if that "Brownstone" reunion ever happened?
Syleena Johnson spent most of the season battling Nicci and dealing with family drama as her mother, a former addict, became the newest member of her household.
LaTocha Scott, who joined the cast earlier this season, did her best to avoid the on-screen drama.
Keke Wyatt was in pretty good spirits this season as she had a hit single on the radio with Avant, "You And I".
