Cissy Houston appeared on "Oprah's Next Chapter" last night for a shockingly (well, should we really be shocked?) candid interview which delved into Whitney Houston's drug addiction, her marriage to Bobby Brown, the lesbian rumors and what she wants people to know about Whitney.  Watch the full episode inside....

During a much anticipated sit-down with Birthday Girl Oprah Winfrey (Happy 59th Birthday Lady O!) for her "Oprah's Next Chapter" series, Grammy-winning singer Cissy Houston provided a candid look into the life of her famous daughter Whitney "Nippy" Houston and expressed the grief she's felt since her daughter's passing.

While promoting her new book, Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss and the Night the Music Stopped, Cissy was pretty open and honest with Oprah as she shared her thoughts and motherly observations about Whitney's life behind-the-scenes.  And, of course, the addictions that finally consumed her.

Oprah covered a range of topics, with many of them ripped straight from the tabloids.  During one particularly tense exchange, Oprah addressed the gay rumors (regarding ber friendship with Robyn Crawford) that followed Whitey during the earlier part of her career. 

OW:"Would it have bothered you if your daughter, Whitney, was gay?"

CH:  "Absolutely," Cissy said.

OW:  "You would not have liked that?"

CH:"Not at all," she responds.

OW:  "You wouldn't have condoned it?"

CH:  "No."

That exchange led into Cissy's thoughts on Whitney's relationship with Bobby Brown.  Though Whitney ended up in a heterosexual marriage, Cissy wasn't very pleased with her selection.  When asked if she was happy about  Bobby being in Whit's life, she simply said  "No."

Oprah also addressed the public's perception that Bobby introduced Whitney to drugs.  It was revealed that Whitney's older brother Michael actually played that role.  While sitting next to Cissy, he said,

“Being together most of the time, and her following behind me … we played together, you know? Any everything that you do together as you’re growing up, and then when you get into drugs, you do that together too. And it just got out of hand.”

Michael tearfully revealed that he blames himself for her downward spiral and he thinks about her everyday.

She's been giving her Hive sneak peeks into her rehearsals, like the above pic from last night.  But what she hasn't given us is a peek into her maybe-maybe not reunion with Destiny's Child.  Michelle will not be performing in Fela! the day of the Superbowl, and Travelzoo--who is doing promotions for the Fela! show--already confirmed the group will be performing at the SuperBowl.  But time will tell.

While Kobe & his Lakers have finally started winning games again, he's in a good mood and not letting people change that.  So in between posting cutesy Twitter messages about his and his wife, Vanessa's, morning coffee & juice habits, his pedicures and his love for the game, he gave his followers a lesson on respecting his wife.

While Drake's verse on "Stay Schemin'" is still something folks like to throw Kobe & Vanessa's way, the baller is squashing it once and for all. 

As we know, Drake raps, "She wasn't with you shootin' in the gym," when talking about wives of the rich/famous/athletes trying to take half.  Vanessa has previously popped off on her own Twitter account about people saying this line to her.  She explained that her "job" was keeping their home and family in tact so that Kobe could shoot in the gym.

Yesterday, the Black Mamba tweeted:"Morning coffee with my wife @LadyVB24 (instagram) vanilla latte for me. Passion tea for her #morningaddiction"

Kenya Moore has taken Phaedra Parks accusations of bipolar disease and alcoholism very seriously and has publicly responded, calling her vindictive and cruel. Find out what she said inside and get her thoughts on Walter, fake bootys and bullying.

On this week's episode of "RHOA" Miss USA Kenya Moore made a memorable entrance into Nene Leakes Shoe Launch Party with a spot-on impression of frenemy Phaedra Parks in her booty-exposing beach dress from Anguilla. After her "walk through" and Southern pleasantries,  Kenya lashed out at Phaedra over her accusations of bipolar disease and excessive drinking.

This week on her Bravo blog, Kenya's frustration went viral as she attacked Phaedra for being vindictive and cruel and spreading lies.  She said,

Agree or disagree, laugh or cry, hate or love… right is right and wrong is wrong. When a person deliberately maligns your reputation by starting vicious rumors about you to anyone who will listen, they are the one who has a problem.

Undoubtedly with malice, Phaedra repeatedly and intentionally slanders and defames me with unfounded and untrue statements.

The only thing that makes me “crazy” is that I ever believed this woman was my friend. She is a malicious, despicable human being, who intentionally sought to malign my reputation and harm my future business with her debasing lies

She continued....

I believe I have seen Phaedra’s cold black heart. From her actions alone, this is a woman who will say anything and tell any lie in order to achieve a favorable outcome for herself. This must end. I believe people can see who she really is. With me, I don’t try to hide. I keep it real. It is what it is. That being said, when people show you who they are, believe them. Phaedra is a walking, talking hypocrite. She wants to say I’m unstable, however, in actuality, she is the one who looks shady and duplicitous obviously lying to hurt me because we had a business falling out.

What Kenya conveyed was that mental disease is an issue her mother deals with and it had a profound impact on her childhood as her mother attempted to "destroy" her.  It's clear from Kenya's post that she shared these intimate details with Phaedra only to have her twist the story around and use it against her.  Messy.

She let her fans know that mental disease is a serious illness and people like Phaedra don't help the situation with their negativity.

She did an interview with NY's HOT 97 where she addressed rumors of have a fake butt and where her "on-screen" boyfriend Walter is now. 

On fake booties:

"I don’t have any work done. I’m not going to entertain that nonsense. My real fans know my body is my body. I may go up and down in my weight but this is me anybody who doesn’t like it you can buy my workout video and try to get your body together."

On her anti-bullying song (this is how SHE described it) "Gone With The Wind Fabulous"

I’m just having fun. I am not a singer. I’m not out here trying to be Rihanna or Beyonce. It’s a song that pretty much empowers people. Being in this business and doing what I do you have people constantly everyday trying to put you down or send you hate messages. For me, its sort of like an anti-bullying campaign if you will.

On Walter:

"He’s long gone. Keep watching the show because he won’t go away. Groupies never go away. I took a chance with him. He was never good enough for me and he is proving it every single time you see him on the show. I think he really wants to hold a peach in the beginning of the opening credits on housewives more than anybody."

And  said her workout DVD is still in the works in spite of the fallout with Phaedra. "Absolutely! I’m a businesswoman I have a deal on the table, I’m going to make a video."

The N.O. native snapped a few cute pics for the brand, and she revealed the tattoo she got when she decided to go solo: three wings merged together which cover her whole back in deep, dark ink, the result of three 10-hour sessions.

“I wanted something that exemplified extreme flight,” she explains. Underneath the wings and stamped down her spine is old Sanskrit message, which translates as “mastered, blessed, saved, beautiful, a force.” She smiles. “And if those things are in alignment, then I am perfect.”

Some say Chris Brown has made his Instagram page private, in light of the Frank Ocean incident, so most folks can't see it.  Others say he completed deleted it.  All we know is, we can't see ish anymore.

If you go to Chris Brown's Instagram page, @FuckYoPictures is coming up as blank space.  After today's hoopla over his fight with Frank Ocean at Westlake Studio in L.A., Chris seems to be pissed about how he's being treated.

He tweeted earlier today that he felt like Jesus being crucified.  And this evening, he wrote messages to his "fans" saying he doesn't want to play into the negativity of social media any longer.  Apparently because it's social media's fault that he got into a fight with Mr. Francis Tenenbaum.  And then, the page went POOF.

It's not the first (and probably not the last) time Chris has disconnected from social media out of anger.  So we're sure he'll be back.  We just wish he would focus on the positive, like his Instagram notes say, and focus on all the support he DOES get from folks.  Breezy's had several #1 songs, a few top albums since his comeback, and millions of followers on his social media networks.  You're a celebrity.  You will never have 100% of the world loving and worshiping you.  Appreciate the love your stans and fans DO give, and keep it going.  We hate to see talent go to waste.  But this social media "pouting"...i.e. deleting your page....is becoming tradition for Chris... 

By the way, Chris was pictured out in L.A. today smiling (pictured above), but was later spotted with a cast on his hand.  He maintains he never threw a punch in the fight with Frank Ocean.

KING Bey she is.  If this pic is indeed a leak from an upcoming editorial piece in VOGUE, Beyonce Knowles is letting the world know she is on her throne, ruling her subjects, and being royally fabulous.

This colorful image, rumored to be shot by Annie Lebovitz, of Beyonce dressed in sexy yet royal formalities, with red laced up thigh high boots and a gold bustier with an oversized blue King robe set in a decadent chamber, hit the net last night. 

Both Beyonce's camp and VOGUE themselves have remained mum about it.  But we did notice VOGUE Italia & British VOGUE tweeting up a storm to promote Beyonce's new Pulse NYC perfume and her brand new Superbowl Ad.  Hmmm...

This wouldn't be Bey's first VOGUE cover & spread.  She rocked L'Uomo Vogue back in 2011 and VOGUE US in 2009.

It's official!  Singers Angie Stone& LaTocha Scott will be bringing their lives to the new season of "R&B Divas" in Atlanta.  Deets inside...

Network sources have exclusively confirmed to TheYBF.com that TVOne's hit show "R&B Divas" has two new cast members that can bring it in the talent..and drama...departments.

It was previously reported that Angie would joining the cast of ladies (including Syleena Johnson, Faith Evans, Monifa, Nicci Gilert & KeKe Wyatt).  But the second addition has been confirmed as former Xscape member LaTocha Scott.

Filming for Season 2 has already begun with Angie performing at the 2012 Soul Train Awards and LaTocha popping up on the red carpet of the 2013 Trumpet Awards. 

What are we looking forward to?  Well, Angie is the mother of singer D'Angelo's child.  And they had a long term relationship before he blew up in the industry.  And since we still harbor our crush on the mysterious sexiness that is D'Angelo...we're just hoping to get a little tea on that.

As for LaTocha, her baby's daddy is her manager.  That's drama in itself.  And now that she's working on her own new music, we're hoping she spills some secrets about former Xscape members Tiny& Kandi Burruss that we don't already know.

The official announcement about the two new cast members will be made soon.  And the premiere of R&B Divas (Atlanta) kicks off in April.

By the way, the L.A. spinoff of "R&B Divas" is indeed happening--eight episodes have already been ordered.  But the five cast members for that show have yet to be announced.

Rick Ross isn't taking anymore chances.  And despite the fact some folks believe he staged this assassination attempt that caused him to crash his Rolls Royce Monday morning, he's hired armed 24-hour security.  Deets inside...

He's been the victim of threats from gangs and such for a while now, but after his Rolls Royce was sprayed with 15 shots of gun fire Monday morning in Ft. Lauderdale, after his birthday party (pictured above), he's taking the threats more seriously.

Reports state that Ricky has hired a security detail that will be hovering over him for 24 hours a day.  In addition to the security he already had at shows and appearances.

But even with this move, people are starting to doubt his assassination attempt even happened.

There are unconfirmed reports that the car had no bullet holes, even though the person who sprayed the bullets was in a nearby car.  And after the car crashed, the passengers inside, including Rick Ross, reportedly ran away. 

Shortly after the incident, Rick dropped a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar's "B*tch Don't Kill My Vibe" track.  And his verse talks about being surprised he's still alive and surviving bullets. No confirmation on if this was written/recorded before the incident, but it's mighty coincidental if it was.  And it was mighty quick of him to record it several hours after the drama.

A rapper lying for street cred isn't a brand new notion.  But we shall see....

So Rihanna's Rolling Stone cover story has lots of talk about her on again off again lover Chris Brown, of course.  And she says no one can tell her anything about it--not even her best friend Melissa--because Chris is....wait for it...."different now." 

.Now we all know true love is a hard thing to ignore, especially when you're both in your early 20's.  But it takes a certain level of maturity to know that love does not always equate a healthy relationship.  Yet, Rihanna says, "We now know where we stand."

"Stay" singer Rihanna is giving her take on people criticizing their reunion, why she feels it's different because they "talk about things now," and why she wanted Chris to know what it felt like to lose her.  Here are the excerpts, thanks to USA Today:

On even her best friend not being allowed to talk to her about Chris Brown:"I just felt like, why bother? Nobody else is going through it. Nobody would understand."

On being mad at Chris Brown for a really long time: "I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you've got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn't bury the way I felt."

On knowing she would be opening herself up to criticism for reuniting with Chris Brown: "I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.

On people being upset about her reunion with Chris Brown: "When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about (stuff). We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that."

On the opinion that Chris Brown still hasn't changed, based on his behavior: "I know it comes off like that. And it doesn't help. For a long time he was really angry, and he felt like he couldn't get away from it, no matter what he did. But there's so many reasons why I ever reconsidered having him in my life. He's not the monster everybody thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really – and I do that with him."

On believing that Chris Brown has changed: "Of course everybody has their opinion about him, because of what he's done. That will always be there. But he made a mistake, and he's paid his dues. He's paid so much. And I know that's not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing."

On being the one to support Chris Brown: "Wait. You think I'm here to rehabilitate Chris? No, no, no. That is not my purpose. Trust me. I could have done that from the jump if I thought that was my job. My job was to take care of myself – and I did. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think Chris was ready."

On people being worried about her with Chris Brown: "I know. And trust me – it makes me feel great to know that people care. I guess it's just something that will show with time. There's nothing I could say that would convince you right now. But we're in a great place. And I can't ever see us going back."

On how much she will put up with from Chris Brown going forward: "Listen, I'll tell you right now: I don't have to take it. If he gives me that again, here's what I give him: nothing. I just walk away. He doesn't have that luxury of (expletive) up again. That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."

On calling her album Unapologetic as an answer to everyone who thinks she should be a better role model: "I could never tell a 10-year-old to look at me, because I know I'm not perfect. That's not what I signed up for."

On reports that she'd fallen out with Katy Perry over Perry's decision to date John Mayer: "Katy Perry can date anyone she wants. Besides, who the (expletive) am I to say anything? I could never give relationship advice to anybody!"

On if she wants to have babies someday: "Hell, yeah. But I wish I could order them."

Of course, any adult can do whatever they want to in life.  But to hear victims of domestic violence still saying "...he's different now"....when we all know those types of relationship are unhealthy for BOTH involved...is a bit off-putting.  But do you boo. The pics are gorge.

Plus, Timbaland just joined the Roc Nation family.  Pledge your allegiance inside....

Alicia and her husband Swizz Beatz love a "Creative Director" title don't they?  They have yet another one to add to their arson. 

At today's Blackberry 10 launch event at Pier 36 in NYC (pictured above), RIM’s chief executive, Thorsten Heins, named the androgynous dressed "Girl On Fire" singer as the Blackberry phone company's Global Creative Director.  Likely a move to rev up publicity for the brand.

As for BB's newest roll out, the Z10, (that the company hopes will save it from going into oblivion thanks to the takeover of iPhones & Samsungs), it's fully touch-screen, lots of hi-tech capabilities like video in BB messenger, and more than 70,000 apps.  It's set for a March 2013 launch here in the states, and Feb. 10th in Canada.

According to Alicia's website, her new role is described as the following:

Another big move made today:

Timbaland's been producing for Jay-Z for the last 15 years....all the way back to the "*igga What, *igga Who" and "Big Pimpin" days.  So Hov has finally woo'd the superproducer over to his Roc Nation family....officially.

The BK rapper took to his own Life+Times website today to make the announcement with the above pic saying:

"Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family."

Timbo also produced Justin Timberlake's new "Suit & Tie" track that Jay is featured on.  No word on if Timbo will simply be managed by Roc Nation or if he will be totally a part of the label.  But we're still wondering where Jay Electronica's and Willow Smith's albums are...

How sweet!  Tia Mowry smooched it up with her husband Cory Hardrict on the red carpet of the Warm Bodies premiere.  And Zoe Kravitz had some quality time on the Bullet To The Head premiere with her mom's longtime boyfriend, Jason Momoa.

We're also told that Zulay was NEVER engaged to actor Terrence Howard.  Apparently, Terrance was engaged to someone else and everyone reported that it was Zulay...when they hadn’t dated in years.

Oddly enough, Terrence never corrected anyone and actually gave interviews about ending the engagement after a few months.  The publication could have simply assumed it was Zulay.

While on a "Scandal" mini press tour today, co-stars Kerry Washington & Tony Goldwyn hopped from "GMA" to "The View" to "Katie" today to promote their hit show.

Recently, people like Star Jones (who says she's actually a huge fab of the show) took "Scandal" and its fans to task about the mistress activities. 

And proceeds to call her character a whore:

The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, tweeted (after she asked fans why they felt Olivia chose a married President over a single Senator who loves her):

And with controversy spinning about Kerry/Olivia Pope's role as the President's mistress, Kerry explained on "The View" today that the beauty of the show's characters is just how imperfect they are.

Nicki Minaj isn't the only "American Idol" judge who has no qualms about baring her bod.  Check out what Mariah Carey was rocking out in NYC today inside...

Mriah was all dressed up in a black cropped top and black maxi skirt and heels while leaving out of her Tribeca apartment today.  She's been giving the classiest of shade on "American Idol" this season, and she has no probs baring her post-twins belly either.  Gotta love a feisty no holds barred chick...who does what she pleases with a smile.

Meanwhile, her ex husband and Sony Exec Tommy Mottola is making his promo rounds for his new memoir, Hitmaker.  And, of course, he's dishing a few things about the twosome's doomed marriage.  Entertainment Weeklyreports about the 1996 Grammys that put the lock on their marital coffin:

By February 1996, Carey was one of the biggest stars in the world and was nominated for six Grammy awards at that month’s ceremony. But the star went home empty-handed, a shut-out which Mottola in part blames for the pair’s ultimate break-up. “You could hear the crack between us cracking open a little wider on a night that I was hoping would allow us to look back on all the good times that had brought us this far,” he writes. “Fat chance of that.” At that evening’s Sony Grammy party Mottola asked that the replay of the ceremony on the monitors be replaced with music videos to avoid “incensing” his wife. “You can’t make this stuff up,” ruminates Mottola. “But I really did feel terrible for her.”

The pre-Superbowl drama is on full throttle as folks are extra pissy about San Francisco 49er Chris Culliver's anti-gay comments that were said on media day.  Check out how his team responded this evening, plus some NFL players singing their fave Beyonce songs...

Cornerback Chris Culliver...yeah, the dude pictured above...is against having gay men on his team.  And in the NFL period.

The two Superbowl teams did their press day yesterday in New Orleans.  And there's always at least one person who's going to say some ignorant ish.

This brings us to Chris Culliver, who went on an anti-gay tirade, that he though was pretty comical, while chatting it up with shoc jock Artie Lang.

"I don't do the gay guys man,"Culliver said. "I don't do that. No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do."

He then proceeded to pretty much say gays don't belong in the league at all, and should only "come out" after leaving for 10 years.  Check out the audio below:

And after all of the internet was up in arms today after these words surfaced, the 49ers organization quickly put out its own statement condemning the comments:

“The San Francisco 49ers reject the comments that were made yesterday, and have addressed the matter with Chris. There is no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. We have and always will proudly support the LGBT community.”

And in more lighthearted NFL news, NFL.com posted a cute video today of the players talking about (and singing) their favorite Beyonce songs while expressing their fan-dom.  It was all a nod to Mrs. BKC rocking the Pepsi Halftime show on Sunday.  Peep the vid above.

One of our fave A-list actresses, Kerry Washington, turns 36 today.  Celebrate with the "Scandal" star inside....

If there's one woman in Hollywood who commands the top spot on everyone's A-list, it's YBF chick Kerry Washington.  Celebrating her 36th birthday today, Kerry burst onto the screen in 1994 in an ABC Afterschool Special and has gone on to become a household name.  

Commanding the big screen in the Oscar-nominated filmDjango Unchained and the small screen in the awarding-winning series "Scandal", she's become a fashion icon and red-carpet trendsetter.

And as a philanthropist and political activist, the George Washington University-educated smartie is making an impact on society at large and not just Hollywood.

"Starter Wives" star Liza Morales opened about her childhood sweetheart, NBA Clippers star Lamar Odom, and his wife Khloe Kardashian revealing she's only slept with Lamar and doesn't see Khloe as maternal. Find out what else she revealed about Lamar inside....

On this week's premiere of the TLC series"Starter Wives" Liza Morales, the mother of Lamar Odom's three children, stepped in the reality tv spotlight where she revealed the backstory of their 10-year love affair. With Lamar being her first man sexually, they met when she was 16, and apparently her last, it's easy to see why she would have "feelings" about seeing the baller wife up reality tv starlet Khloe Kardashian after such a short time together.

Liza says her relationship with Lamar was plagued by groupies and the traps of fame and excess, but it was the death of their third child from SIDS that completely shut the door on their romance.  She says that till this day (Lamar has been married to Khloe for three years) they have NEVER discussed the death of their child.  "Who abandons their lady?” she said.

She added that she hasn’t had sex in four years.  And on the premiere, she confirmed Lamar was her first and last. *eyebrow raised*   “I’m not waiting for marriage, I’m just waiting for a good man. I will be like a caged animal out of the Bronx Zoo.”
 

And now that Khloe and Lamar often grace the pages of tabloids with talks of having children of their own (Khloe is stepmother to their two children), Liza said she doesn't really see Khloe being the motherly type.  She also told the NY Daily News,

“I don’t know if she’s good maternally, I don’t know. As long as my kids are good, I’m good,” Morales says of Kardashian, who has desperately been trying to have a baby with Odom. “As long as my kids are taken care of and I haven’t heard anything negative, then I’m good.”

And Liza also had to address the obvious resemblance she has to Khloe. But she prefers to say that Khloe looks like her....and not the other way around.

“I’m 100% Puerto Rican and I was here first. I was here first, so she has a resemblance to me. I don’t see it. We both have dark hair. We both have a cherub face. I don’t think we look alike, but I have heard it. Imitation is a form of flattery!”

And when asked why she joined the "Starter Wives" she told HLN news,

"It's not a way of getting back at Lamar. It's a way of telling my own story. I feel like my story was being told for me in the media and the tabloids. So this show is a way of telling my story in my own words."

We guess.  The premiere episode was MANY things.  And we'll leave it at that.  "Starter Wives" airs Tuesdays on TLC at 10pmET.
